      Cerebral Cortex CEH I started taking it 2 weeks ago for chronic pain. I survived bone cancer and have issues related to that. Does it still give you the same positive effects once you’ve been on it longer term? Right now I feel great and I’m actually able to enjoy life again.

    • @Strangethinkbox
      @Strangethinkbox Před 4 lety +7

      Yes! It is very powerful, if your using it for chronic pain you want to stay at low doses. He lower the dose is, the more norbup you get. Which is the chemical that helps with pain. Don't go at high doses you'll find yourself not feeling the effects as much. It's better to stay at 2mg or 4mg for the maximum pain relief.

    • @mattk3650
      @mattk3650 Před 4 lety +1

      StrangeBrews4Life lipold I noticed that today. I was taking 2mg 2x a day for the first two weeks, but today they had me take 4mg in the morning and it just made me tired, as opposed to feeling relief and having energy to get stuff done.

    • @Strangethinkbox
      @Strangethinkbox Před 4 lety +2

      Yes!! Sorry for late response. Yes don't take more than 2mg. What's gonna happen is your filling all your receptors, by taking 2mg it fills majority of our receptors. Leaving room for norbup. Which inhabits the feeling of good energy and pain relief. By taking 4mg, you leave no room for the norbup to come in play. Which will eventually leave you groggy and depressed after awhile. Listen to what your body tells you, less is more with this stuff. Hope that helps

      Shame is so toxic and with all the debate on Opiates they forget that there is people who live with servere chronic pain and without medical intervention the suicide rate would go up. I see you and validate your suffering🤗, you should not carry shame because of it. You are the only one who has to live you life experience and others have no right to judge you. Do what you need to live a positive and good quality of life and anyone who judges you can F off 😖because your life matters and they are not educated or luckily not have had to experience chronic pain. Just because someone has an opinion on your life doesn't mean you need to listen or ruminate on it. Water off a ducks back is my motto when people shove their nose where it does not belong. YOU DO YOU and live life and love to the fullest. You are a beautiful soul and do what you need to so you can shine and share your beauty to the world around you. It takes high d ok es for chronic oain with greatly increased risks. One of it worse side effects for men is that is will shrivel up a man's dick to the size of a pimple, especially when used long term. Their is not enough testosterone in the pharmacy for you to get your manhood back. -- ir at least good luck getting a high enough dose to make up half the difference. I actually mix it up and take 8mg in the morning then take half or 4mg because the 6 or 8 hour wait is too long. The analgesic effect starts to wear off in 4 to 5 hours for me. I know it's a high dose but I started at 16mg because I was on over 300mg of morphine when I transitioned off to bupe (it was suboxone to begin with) Works great on my pain

So, when I saw this video's thumbnail I thought ok, a clinician is about to describe the drug and its application & administration correctly.
    But then he said buprenorphine and naltrexone. It's buprenorphine and naloxone.
    And, while it _can_ be taken sub-lingually (the method used for administering crushed buprenorphine tablets), I know of no health care professional who advises patients to administer Suboxone in this way. The preferred method is buccally i.e. on the inside of the cheek. There is less likelihood of ingestion due to excess production of saliva.

I have never had any high feelings from high doses of opiate pain meds except at the beginning, then that went away. I brought myself down from high doses of oxycodone and methadone. Then I had to go on morphine extended release instead of methadone because methadone was causing an abnormal heart rythem. I ended up on MS ER 15 mg twice a day with oxycodone 15 mg three times a day. Same doctor since 2007, who lost her practice. I moved to Nevada to live with my friend, and the doctors here are really strict. He said he wasnt going to lose his license just so I could have pain medicine. He said it wasn't worth it. So he put me on suboxone. Haven't used it yet because I still had a few pills from my last doctor. I told him that we tried buprenorphine but it didn't work. 16 mg over 4 hours didn't work at all. He didn't care. Went off to his next patient. So I have 2 oxycodone left. I will take them in an hour after I vacuum, while I still can. How long do I wait after taking the last oxycodone before using the 8 mg/2 mg suboxone strip? I am terrified of the pain because I know buprenorphine does not work for me. Please help someone. Suboxone; Buprenorphine and 'naloxone' combined in a 4:1 ratio. Buprenorphine is a very powerful agonist and antagonist opioid. Naloxone is a short acting opioid antagonist most commonly known as Narcan. Naltrexone is a longer acting opioid antagonist meant for blocking opiods AND partially ethanols effects and is more commonly known in its monthly shot, Vivitrol.

And then this in sublingual strip or paper form , relieved my pain better than oxycodone and hydrocodone combined! But the withdrawals from it is a bitch too! Bad! And many states like mine block it’s use for pain management and only allow it for opioid treatment! Which is disgusting! It’s a much much more manageable pain reliever and would keep hundreds of thousands from hitting the streets looking for extra pain relief because they ran out of their script the first week or two of a months worth! It would cut crime I believe in half! But they need a way to help you off it, and I noticed long term use increased aging big time!

    This is what I resorted to and it IS managing my Cronic Pain. Unfortunately I had to Lie & say I was addicted to opiates😔 but we live in a world in which Dr's are afraid to prescribe and CPP patients SUFFER 24/7!! I came to a point where my Quality of Life had diminished drastically all activities came to a Halt. Why would I/anyone want to live this way!? So did my reasearch/homework and got myself help. Note: I'd never been removed from any Pain Management program or failed and tests or pill count! All I did was Move to another state and the suffering began.

    why is he saying Suboxone has Naltrexone in it? he means Naloxone (Narcan) but said Naltrexone. Obviously boith drugs are opioid antagonists (blockers) but it doesn't ever contain Naltrexone.

    I hate the patches! They used to have me on Morphine, it worked for pain but put me in ICU and withdrew me from everything! After 3yrs am using a 15mcg patch weekly,4 oxycodone ,3 Clonazepam and 2 temazepam a day. I don’t see why I can’t take an oral version as these patches itch like crazy and I’m on a bucketful of opioids and benzodiazepines anyway! They think I’m old and feeble! I have news for them!

    I can tell you for pain this medication is absolute crap. I have a back injury. I was on Norco in the beginning worked fairly well. My Dr switched departments and I was giving a new Dr who refused to continue the Norco and switched me to buprenorphine melt away tablets. After a few months of being on it there was a mistake at the pharmacy and I had to go 15 days without my refill and there was zero change in my pain level in 15 days Now I take three 8 mg melt away tablets daily which should have been enough if they were doing anything for me to notice it increase in pain. But that wasn't. There was zero change in pain levels after 15 days without my tablet.

    I have been on buprenorphine (subutex) since 2008 and it still works on my severe chronic pain. Yes I have had to increase the dose and am at what is considered to be very high dose 8mg 4X a day to 32mg I doubt the doctor will increase past this point partly because of the hysteria over the "epidemic". My answer to this is to increase buprenorphine as a first line opiate and stop the sudden discontinuation of opiates because that is what leads to street drugs and overdose. I know many chronic pain patients and I doubt any of them ever OD'd on prescription medication but plenty when forced to the street play Russian rolette not knowing if the dose has fentyal. In a nutshell, it is not doctors causing OD's it is patients being forced to go to the street. If MD's used buprenorphine as a first line opioid medication, it would end death period! (unless a fool drinks alcohol and or take benzo's while on bupe)

    • @ItzReptar
      @ItzReptar Před 4 lety +2

      There is really no point to be taking more than 8mg per day...you know there's a ceiling dose on bupe right?

    • @Mountchoirboy
      @Mountchoirboy Před 4 lety +1

      @@ItzReptar That is not true. There has been new research on two points-one is that adding another opiate will not increase the analgesic effect. If you add a high enough dose as in my case after hip surgery, it will aid in pain relief. I required 4mg 4X a day of diludid (hydromorphone) and I took it for about a week until the pain eased-second, that after 8 to 16mg buprenorphine will have a ceiling on analgesia. This is not true. The analgesic effect wears off after 5-6 hours and another dose will take effect. The ceiling they refer to is the breathing part. (cannot spell very well) The analgesic ceiling has been debunked. Now if you mean anything after 8mg means nothing as far as "craving" or going into withdrawal, then yes, the opiate receptor sites will be "covered" for an extended period of time up to 48 hours or so. My goal as a chronic pain patient who has been through the wringer taking various opioid medications from hydrocodone to morphine to methadone, is to educate people and doctors on the use of bupe as a first line "chronic pain" opiate. It has given me quality of life that regular "Mu agonist" opiates never have been able to. Yes they work well but the tolerance is unbelievable and when 4 to 6 pills once worked, in months one requires 8 to 16 etc etc..Hell my last time before I entered the clinical trial was hell beyond description! I was starting to withdraw from percocet 2 hours after taking them! Bupe for me and for thousands is the answer. I tried a whole year off bupe and anything except tylenol and suicide seemed the only way out of my pain save for returning to buprenorphine-I choose life
