    I am looking for my father and I would be comfortable with this set up. I would rather see some give than complete stiffness. It would compensate for any brittleness or weakness in the metal itself. Nice job on the review! I really like it because its realistic and looks exactly like I would do it after I threw the directions away. 😆

    I've been considering a carrier for my 300# scooter on my Camry.
    Now I may be looking for a mini cargo van or anything I can drive the scooter into...
    It's a pain in the arse trying to find a place to check these things out.

    At the end of the video you ended on sour note.... the entire platform with scooter mounter was very wobbly. do you have a follow up video on how to correct this? thanks!

      They already installed the commercial stiffening plate that grips the carrier tube. But it still wobbles. I wouldn't trust it with my 300# Patriot scooter.

    this unit sucks. if you are handicapped this takes too much work. there are alot of carriers that are alot less work to use.

    Wow… really great video… and concise complete instructions. This looks very ruggedly and strongly built. That hitch and support bar are steel and well more than strong enough for this application. Yes, there is wobbly issue but they all have that… particularly with cars today. Mostly this is the car suspension and compliance needed for a soft ride without a load like this. No problem you have options… czcams.com/video/BOdUfcIfKM0/video.htmlsi=0kW2fE-FBmlOoXPN . Traditionally air shocks are easiest install. Or, air helper springs these both allow easy adjustment by changing air pressure.. easier instal than this scooter carrier… and if you remove the carrier you can reduce the helper spring air pressure. I am lucky having a Range Rover that is super rugged and having an air suspension that a computer adjusts for ride height. But my Mercedes sedan I ordered without such complication as the Mercedes System I’d hugely complex, and a little fragile.
    I am an engineer by the way… and not defection is needed for strength so that is not any worry. But unsteady driving is disconcerting and dangerous. So adding a dolly support wheel would be a project to undertake by securely mounting to the main support (the steel center support column bar) and adding a small trailer tire near center or a pair side by side. These provide widest selection, easiest install and adjustment. Note simply have a 1/4” thick flat rectangular plate of steel welded to the center support column to mount the Flexiride unit(s) to… some holes will need drilling. The Flexiride support arms point in the trailing position and have splines for ride height or to set for best deflection to load. If you do this you do not need to instal like caster wheels, in fact similar carriers for motorcycles when the casters wobble or rotate it is very noticeable and they can in certain situations caster wheels can wobble side to side by getting into a dynamic compliance with the trailer tire sidewall. So I would mount a singe axle near side to side centerline or if you do a pair on each side of centerline would work too. By the way the load rating on the Flexiride units is based on pairs as they are sold in pairs. Simply mount closer to the hitch rather than way out back, and the tire sidewalls will defect enough for parking lot maneuvering… you do not need complication of casters or steerable wheels. The further from the foreword or more close to hitch end of the scooter carrier will give both the support needed and adequate compliance for parking tight turn maneuver.

      Couple typos … 1 - deflection is necessary for strength, and placing the support wheels no further back than center of the platform or better closer to the forward hitch end … then low speed tight maneuver does not need casters or steerable as side walls of tires have enough compliance though you may hear a slipping of the tire noise if turning very tight at low speed… nothing to worry all tires are designed to take these what are called “slip angle loadings”.
