    If Re[in]carnation is the definitive explanation for the whole Yokoverse then:
    - Saryu/Priyet's timeline = origin of maso
    - F66x's timeline = origin of the flower
    - Noelle's timeline (if it is seperate from DOD/Nier) = origin of dragons
    But one has to wonder:
    - where did magic/maso actually come from? The series keeps flip-flopping between it being a true supernatural force to being mere technology that travelled back in time
    - where did the time travel come from? The Cage itself seems to be a derivative of time travel tech. Or is the Yokoverse simply a Buddhist cosmology where there are multiple realms and a circular structure to time (e.g. the time loop is natural and not the result of someone fucking up)?
    - is there an actual God/Gods that exists beyond this multiverse? Or, is it just a comedy of errors caused by reckless interdimensional travel?
    - why do characters all throughout DOD/NieR speak of "forgiveness" or being "unforgiven?"

    Phenomenal video. I forgive you for stealing my picture on discord. One thing I might add as an extra bit of connection, though it's relevance can be argued, is that the clones are produced using the flowers to create them, and I believe also that Noelle, Eleanor and their sisters are also be produced in the same way, which would give the understanding and connection of the 'mother' that is worshipped being the creator of the dragons in this roundabout way.
    Perhaps the original F66x does not create them in the world they come from directly, but possibly the method somehow finds its way there in recursion perhaps.

    I've always thought the Grotesquerie Queen of Drakengard was Zero's corpse fully overtaken by the flower that was in her body. Maybe it's modeled after F66x, but given Drakengard 3 is as close to a prequel as it can be, it makes the most sense that the Queen Beast we see is the remnants of Zero--especially given the one fuck you fight with the Flower we see over Tokyo. This is compelling, though!

    So the Nier universe is not a timeloop but a cluster of diferent timelines/realities?

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před 2 měsíci +7

      the timelines/branches that DOD1 and NieR are in is a casual loop. Angelus appearing in NieR leads to the plot of NieR and humans creating dragons, those dragons get sent to DOD which causes the plot of DOD to happen and for Angelus to be sent to NieR.
      Re[in]carnation added to this by revealing that at a certain point in the far future every timeline suddenly stops and begins again as a new cycle, which might have to do with the "Falldown" Accord is trying to prevent.

    love your channel! i have a question. for a long time ive seen people theorize that Zero became the queen beast at the end of branch C. i never really bought this since Accord likley "terminated" Zero not long after killing One. but i do think she was about to become something similar to it. i noticed in branch D Zero is often described restless by her disciples and that her flower has been "blooming", could it be possible that, if not for Accord sealing off the branch, Zero would've transformed into the final boss we see at branch D? just a thought. wish you the best on your sinoalice videos!

    • @iamcaim

      I assume the end goal of the flower was always to turn zero into the angel-creature she becomes in ending D, and the other intoners probably would have also transformed if left alone long enough. I think that in any ending where Zero survives without Mikhail Accord steps in to kill her/close the branch.

    To me F66x story was a divergent path from Yuzuki's and Hina's world the cage is a database and the world where the siblings come from is more or less the intended world.
    The other worlds my have come about when curtain data come to the world and Mama had to remove it immediately, with F66x her and her husband world came into contact with the black flower's data and trying it's damnes to end the world but trapped in a stale-mate with the clones.
    Another thing is that in 10H character story, when Mama killed her she said, she would continue on fighting the black flower on her own meaning that the black flower is in the cage. Which kinda terrifying if that's true.

      All timelines seemingly are divergent paths from Hina and Yuzuki's timeline, which is the original timeline and is our reality. Drakengard timelines were divergent timelines of our own that diverge from the year 856 AD. The main Nier timeline is a divergent timeline that branches from the year 2003 AD caused by the events of that occurred in timeline E of Drakengard 1. So yeah, either timelines are divergent of the main, or they're divergent from divergent timelines. That tends to be what the lore has been point to

    Two things come to mind.
    I vaguely remember that in Replicant there's an interaction in the library where someone talks about an old book discussing plants dying out a long time ago and having to be re-seeded. I don't remember any more details and last time I looked around couldn't find much info online about this. I think I'd have to go back and replay the game to find it and it's possible I'm misremembering altogether. I don't know if this is meaningful in any way, it's possible it's just a coincidence and Yoko didn't mean anything by it in the Nier timeline.
    Are the clones the only bald characters we've seen in the series? If so it might be meaningful somehow. Possibly a metaphor (like how the Yorha visors represent them not seeing the truth). It could also be meant to directly reference the mother angel, who is depicted as bald.

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před 2 měsíci +2

      You're thinking of the quest for the botanist. He mentions that the fossil records show that all plant life died out a long time ago but somehow came back.
      My guess is that the death of the plants was caused by the axis of the Earth changing, and nature was fixed by the androids doing something.
      F66x and O63y's story is set in a far future world where the flowers kill everything except for the clones, the axis of the Earth in the world is normal so it can't really fit anywhere in the replicant/automata timeline.

    • @Ekce
      @Ekce Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@iamcaim oh yeah, I think it's clear that it's different timelines. I just wondered if perhaps there was some hidden thematic or plot meaning behind it. The death of nature is a pretty big thing usually used a literary device to reinforce a theme. The idea that there are two timelines where nature died and had to be recreated by humans feels like it may not just be a coincidence (i.e. it may be that Yoko Taro is intentionally trying to say something at a metaphorical or thematic level). It could just be a coincidence and the Botanist story may just be a throwaway story of no deep importance, kind of like some of the many weapon stories.

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před měsícem +2

      @@Ekce I think it's to tie in with the idea that humanity always ends up being destroyed or destroying itself if left alone. Nature dying out is strong imagery and comes along with a lot of stuff common in Japanese media like the fear of bio-weapons and nukes.

      @iamcaim  Před 21 dnem

      @@BrunoCunha-qp4fy My theory is that the machines are "God". The watchers are just a tool God uses, and DOD1.3 shows that they can be created by infecting dragons with Red Eye disease. Are the machine lifeforms left behind still connected to N2 and the network?

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před 2 měsíci +1

      In Reincarnation N2 is shown injured on Earth before coming across the female admin, so I think it takes place after a version of ending C into E, in other words the tower was destroyed and there is no ark. The arks that do exist in previous loops/branches probably don't really matter, since those versions of N2 boarded and launched their arks because they were tired of fighting.
      The machines at the end of Reincarnation probably don't have a network anymore, it's also unclear if N2 still exists in some form.

    I have a question.
    Are we dealing with alternate timelines that are drastically different from one another or are we dealing with parallel universes?
    Is Midgard from Drakkengard its own planet or is it earth in a different universe and/or timeline?

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Midgard is Earth, it's the result of branching timelines. If a character (a singularity) is faced with two choices there will be the timeline where they choose the first option, and splitting off from that point there will be a timeline where they choose the second option.
      Midgard has magic and dragons because of the Cataclysm that occured in 856 AD, it was following normal Earth history up until that point. Every world we see in the games is a version of Earth which can either closely resemble real world history or be unrecognisable, it depends on how many divergences occured along the way from what we consider base history.

    Great video, love your content, just wanted to know... You state that "it is revealed that the clones are infertile", true, except the event story we don't see any pregnancy or anything but... You said that she started making the clones with the flower parts, didn't she do it from something else and only later the flowers were added, cause not enough material? Or well, it could have said they increase the amount of flower material idk anymore...
    But to conclude this, I thought that it said that those clones in the 063y frozen-heart, that it was in one of the furthest futures and cause of the increase in flower material, they started to degrade faster and I think it said that they didn't have genital at all at that point, so I assumed that at one point they had them and might have been fertile...
    But then again, at one point they started producing the children artificially as well...

    • @iamcaim
      @iamcaim  Před 3 měsíci +5

      In the EX story it says that the female scientist created the clones of her and her husband by combining their genes with the flower's. It seems like over time more flower DNA was introduced as the clones in the O63y story talk about being inferior copies that break down faster.
      The english version of the game says that they lack sexual organs but I just checked the Japanese and all it says is:
      夫婦という「設定」を取り上げられた人には 子どもを作る機能そのものが与えられなかっ
      Which is basically just saying that they don't have the functional ability, no mention of lacking the actual organs themselves. It seems to basically be the same situation as replicants.
