- Okay here we go. The maybe sequel to NieR Replicant and NieR Automata, NieR Reincarnation. This one is a bit weird. It's nothing you haven't heard before, but its the third NieR game, and a free to play mobile gacha one. Despite it being free, I kinda got this feeling that it's not hitting much with the NieR community, likely because of it's genre. Yoko Taro WAS involved in it's creation though, so it's as legit as it gets. We got all 12 chapters here, including the last one that isn't available in the English version, so let's see where Levania, Fio, and Mama's journey will take them. I've summarized the plot as best I can. To be clear, we won't be covering the side stories involving the characters in the scarecrow for this one. We're 100% in on the main plot since I think it deserves the dedication. It'll be a full summary of the events and explaining them as we go along. A little bit of analysis, you know how it be.

If you're here after the game shut down, here's what happens after this video ends:
The next part of the story follows two high school students who wake up in The Cage. It turns out they're brother and sister from a broken home, each living with a different parent. The father abused the mother after she saddled the family with a ton of debt to live her lavish lifestyle. The abuse ended up putting her in the hospital where she eventually passed away, while the father fell into a deep depression due to his economic situation. The daughter stayed with the father and sold drugs to make ends meet, while the son stayed with the mother and looked after her in the hospital. The kids end up hating each other's parent so much that they both go to kill the other and succeed. After playing through both stories the siblings face off in The Cage and you have to choose a side: brother's or sister's. If you play through the last part 3 times and choose each sibling's side, on the third time you get a new option to not fight. This is the "true ending" for The Sun and the Moon arc. The siblings reconcile and continue living in The Cage. However, in the course of their journey they are promised that their wishes will be granted if they each collect Luna Fragments and Sol Fragments. They're told that this will repair the Moon and the Sun, which in The Cage means that they are actually repairing and opening a portal. Where this portal goes is still a mystery at that point.
The final part of the story is where things come to a head. The Cage begins to collapse and disintegrate due to the attacks of the Black Birds and Dark Foes. Mama pulls out all the stops and recruits the characters we've met in all the previous weapon stories to come to The Cage's defense. The planet Earth itself attacks the meeting and everything is thrown into disarray, the party is split up across different parts of The Cage. Mama tries to guide them back together, and when she finally does they're attacked by a Cursed God kaiju thing. The Cursed God screams and crumbles to reveal its true form: it's a "Giant", a Queen Beast from Drakengard, and a rhythm game ensues. When you defeat it, a YoRHa loading screen appears and it's revealed that The Cage really is the human server on the moon. The stories we've been collecting and repairing are damaged records of humanity stored on the server. And Mama is one of many Pod 006 models. And YoRHa No.10 Type H is lying motionless outside the base on the moon's surface. We pull 10H back inside, and Mama--er, Pod 006 displays video feeds of Fio and Levania and the other characters as they talk to 10H to ask if she's ok. 10H knows these characters, because she's been sneaking into The Cage and observing their stories. The reason she was outside is because Mama--I mean Pod has been lying to her about the base's purpose and location, and when she finally figured it out she tried to escape. 10H has done this dozens of times, and after each time Pod 006 brings her back inside and wipes her memory.
But now The Cage is in danger of being destroyed and 10H goes into The Cage to help defend it. She links up with the siblings inside and they trace the corruption back to the Sun and Moon eclipse. Turns out the students accidentally allowed the Black Birds to enter The Cage this way after being manipulated to repair the portal. So 10H sacrifices herself to defend the siblings from the onslaught of Black Birds while they sacrifice themselves to close the portal, after allowing Mama to pass through and take the rest of the cast back to Earth. Inside her. Digitally. Because they are all still just data from human records on the moon server. Back on Earth, a Mama Pod activates in a 5G cell tower. It is snowing. And there are towers as far as the eye can see. It looks just like The Cage. But some of the towers have anti-air laser cannons that begin to shoot at Mama (and her payload of characters including Fio and Levania). Mama is able to fly beneath their radar and approach each of the 3 cannons to disarm them. In the course of doing so, a cheerful PA system is making announcements just like in Automata Route C at the Tower. At this point it's revealed that the place they're trying to get to, coordinates left by 10H, is called The Birdhouse and that "She" is sleeping there. "She" is the girl Administrator of "Sleeping Beauty" aka the Divine Tree from the Forest of Myth in Replicant. She was not destroyed in Kaine's attack, but instead left on Earth alone for thousands of years. Eventually She found N2, the Red Girl, who was also left wandering Earth alone after the Machine Network left Earth in Automata. She fused with N2 and took on her pain, deciding to end everything once and for all by attacking The Cage. She is the "Absolute Being" behind Carrier (The Postman) as well as Papa and Black Mama (who I didn't name earlier, but manipulated the siblings, Hina and Yuzuki, who I also didn't name earlier). She is also the one attacking The Cage with the Black Birds and Dark Foes. Her own crushing loneliness mixed with N2's overwhelming despair were finally defeated by Fio's huge heart and the power of her friendship with Levania.
After the final battle, Fio was reborn on Earth along with Her, and they became friends. Fio's data was removed from The Cage (her 2 star original costume became unplayable & was replaced by a note from Fio in the in game Library) and Mama collected all the other characters' humanity data in a book. Mama gave the book to another Mama, who flew off with it (probably to deliver it to Accord).

What do you mean "Fio was reborn on Earth"? Is she human again? Alone on the planet?
@@robertocioffi2523 It's vague, like the other NieR ending E's, but that's what it looks like. A pop up message at the end of the story quest said that Fio had been reborn and her data erased from The Cage. When viewing Fio's 2-star main story costume after finishing the story, the image was missing and her stats were replaced with a note saying goodbye. Her 3-star and 4-star costumes were ok, so they could continue being used until EOS.
But she wasn't alone. Fio made friends with Her, the second Administrator girl. They were both reborn on Earth, and it showed some random YoRHa androids also waking up on Earth, so who knows what will happen?
He is not kidding by this becoming your second fulltime job. I quit after a month on powerlevel 85k because it was event after event, powercreep after powercreep. I am sad that the story is merged with a game you HAVE to dedicate so much to progress.

Yeah. I probably wouldn't be playing it still if it wasn't for macro's. Thankfully they get rid of the grind so I can focus on the story.

@@Your_Average_Jay I use an emulator on my computer to play the game on PC. The emulator comes with a macro-creator, which allows me to record mouse clicks at certain locations / timed intervals. I created macros to farm stages, farm the daily dark character stages, and chapter/event summons. Thanks to this, My time spent playing the game is mostly just enjoying the stories.
That's part of why I didn't want to play kingdom hearts union x cross just to get a freaking story.
The Cage is a cool setting, too bad its wasted on a mobile game.
On a sidenote, Kaine, 2B, and A2 fighting together is badass.

my first thought when i heard this was immediately the tree in the forest of myth. the use of characters from the series and their connection to the past of the world that we play in (in both automata and replicant) that we learned about in replicant’s route E makes me thing there’s some kind of a connection. also, i can’t help but notice the bandage on fio’s leg and the way levania spoke when she sacrificed herself, it sounds suspiciously shade-like

I started playing this game a month ago and it really is like a full time job. The grind is insane and you really gotta put in the work if you want that sweet, sweet lore (or just the various stories in general). So, I'm glad videos like this exist for those not wanting to play the game themselves since it is very time-consuming. I am also making Reincarnation to make it more accessible for Nier fans :D
Yeah, you really gotta smash through just to make it to the end. On the bright side, part 2 coming out in a few days so, looking forward to grinding for that 😶
Did you know you can do one fight in the automatic mode 10 times? Do your stuff meanwhile, just click "Repeat" every 5 minutes or so.

6:13 BrandoSP mentiones that the monsters are ''dream eaters''. This reminds me of the Divine Tree Memory section of Nier Replicant v1.22. In that part, you come across a ''shade?'' (noted as creature) was consuming the memories and Nier asks ''These things eat memories?''.
In conclusion, I think Nier confuses the insect-like creature who consumes memories with a shade because of the fact that the room was gloomy as hell.
Another note: When they enter the room, they hear a voice suddenly called out from the depths of his mind ''It was an order. Following it was mandatory''.
This line reminds me the instinct of these insect-like creatures to consume memories.

The characters transformed into weapons?and ghosts took them and stashed somewhere because they collect stories?
From memory, weapons in automata had stories attached to them. Could that be a connection?

They are certainly a entity with power over memory who wants something with the memories of humanity (as that is pretty much what 90% of the content in the game is, expression of human memory).
Mayhaps the Title Re[in]carnation has some meaning we can decode from it.
Particularly the bracketed part as they are putting focus to the "In" in reincarnation.
My theory? Whoever this "Higher Being" is, wants to Restore humanity past its final extinction after Project Gestalt failed, the inspiration being Replicant Nier being restored from memory, despite his existence and memory being allegedly wiped out by the deal he made with Tyrann.
Re[in], backwards is Nier.
So the title Nier: Reincarnation could literally mean, the Reincarnation of Nier, or The Reincarnation of Humanity, made possible by Nier.
Interesting theory, we know that gods exist and that they wanted to destroy humanity in drakeguard, so maybe just as there is gods who want their destruction there might be a god that wants to save them.
Or maybe, just maybe.... It's the watchers or the twins (machine program). They wanted to learn about humanity as much as possible and the D ending suggests they weren't completely destroyed.
But that would be way too easy of an answer for Yoko Taro, so it's probably wrong.
@@vojtechfantys yeah that might be possible but i still feel that the gods might be more probable, we know they are there, we know what they've tried to do and they probably didnt succeed in drakeguard but on earth they sure as hell did. Or maybe earth also has a its own god and its trying to do something about what the invasive gods did. Man so much to think thats why i love this series

So when it comes to the story of Nier Re[In]carnation I have a couple theories of my own about how it connects to the larger Nier timeline. The monsters that eat the dreams of humans in order to become them reminds me of shades and replicants. Especially because Lev after devouring enough of Fio's memories not only turned him into a human but one that looked exactly like Fio. This resembles how a replicants purpose is to be filled with the soul of its original human counterpart and become a replica of that human. I believe that all this is meant to be in relation to the Gestalt project. We also know that the ghost like creatures of Mama and the Postman receive orders from a higher being. They also seem to be concerned with routes. Routes are very explicitly mentioned by the android lady from Drakengard 3. I forgot her name sorry. But she is an android given orders to watch over the creation of roots. These ghost like creatures seem to function kind of like androids from the Nier/Drakengard series. I believe that this is very intentional. We know that androids and machines have a desire to record and replicate the actions of humans. So what if what we are witnessing is the creation of an Android or a Machine using data from the ages of humans and the Gestalt project in an effort to recreate the human race? We have seen in Nier Replicants ending E that Nier was revived from memory. What if an Android or a machine is attempting to do the same thing but on a wider scale while using elements from past failed attempts to create one perfect solution to the problem?
My second theory is connected to the first one. In Drakengard 3 the fact that Androids exist as well as the giant city full of white buildings is kinda weird considering this is before Drakengard 1 and is super mythical and ancient in societal terms. One of my favorite game reviewers Clemps (Shout out to Clemps for being dope and covering Drakengard and Nier in depth.) believes that Drakengard and Niers timelines are kinda like a thorny crown and create a loop of broken events that repeat over and over. What if Drakengard 3 actually comes after Automata and Re[In]carnation is the bridge between them? Considering my first theory this could mean that the Android or machine succeeded in recreating humans and humans civilization which would have access to magic because it would've also been accessible in the ancient past. This could also explain why androids were sent to watch over the timeline in order to ensure things go smoothly. All to ensure humanity's revival proceeded smoothly. This would also mean that this loop will continue indefinitely until the root problem is fixed so that humanity doesn't have to repeat this broken cycle of death and rebirth. This is where the name of the game could come in. It is the reincarnation of humans based off memories of ancient civilizations and their stories.
I have a third and final theory which is shorter than the other two is much looser. The theory is that this is a route that continues from the automata ending where 9S joins Adam and Eve on their super cool space journey and that the data they stored becomes the basis for the reincarnation project. I believe this mainly because of the fact that they took so much data that this would make sense that a android or machine offworld may find this worth pursuing. Either way it's a little more loose with me just assuming thats how that would go.
If you guys have any thoughts or opinions on my theories please tell me about it. Also Nier and Drakengard are very special in my opinion and Yoko Taro is a literal genius even if he seems absolutely coocoo for how he makes his games. Im under the philosophy that a genius is just a madman with an audience and we are his audience. But yeah would love feedback and opinions. So feel free to reply.
damn dude you really put much thought into this!!! personally I find your first and third theory really like I mean really good, makes so much sense, like I would say combine the two, because one thing we know that the events of reincarnation are happening after automata, I think yoko taro said it or someone from the developing team, anyways so maybe as you said 9s (maybe androids or just eve)gathered all the infos that he/they took to the moon learned from the mistakes of gestalt and found away to restore humanity through these memories that they are gathering and fixing, because mama said that fios and levanias memory where fixed and restored, and levania taking on a human form after devouring the dreams aka memories of fio is the way I guess, levania is very semilar to shades too like his appearence and voice and everything, I remember the first thing I thought about when I heared his voice was (ahmmm thats a shade for sure) mmmm I dont know man but im sure there is something there, too bad it will take a while till we find out :)
Android's name is Accord. She was mentioned by weapon's sellers in Drakengard 3, nier and nier:automata as a lady with a huge bag full of weapons. She also mad her appearance in manga Utahime five. Not as a seller though, but as a doorway system (???)
Another thing. Both drakengard and nier require all weapons collected to achieve the last ending. Sooo I guess it's kinda crucial to the whole story to collect all the mf weapons. Damn every time it's a pain in the ass
Man, I love your theories, but the second one has some plot holes. If I understood correctly, you're saying that the Church in Cathedral City is the Cage? Or something the "higher beings" create. If so, how do you explain the Dragons, the Flower and everything that came with it?
We don't have much info about the Church, but it can't be the Cage or something like that. Although, I like the idea of a cycle of death and rebirth and everything else you said.
@@Yatagarasu299 Dragons were created by those higher beings in drakengard, we already know this.
The only missing link is the flower, whose existence cannot be explained by the cyclic nature of Nier/drakengard, the flower is technically the god that wants to destroy humanity, be it the watchers, red eye disease, the angels, all of them are directly caused the flower to exist.
A way to explain it is, that the flower is just an evolved version of the lunar tear, or some kind of twisted version of it, it's a cycle, so obviously you will get events that cause themselves to happen, similarly, the lunar tear, which the memory forest embodies, was the one that created the dragon weapon in the Nier universe that were used against legion which reside in the kingdom of the night, it's possible that after thousands of years the lunar tear's objective was twisted, instead of protecting humanity, it changed so that it's goal became to protect it, the seeds of resurrection/destruction could have been created based on Emil, they have the ability to copy anyone indefinitely, just like how Emil is immortal in the sense that he can clone himself indefinitely.
I don't think the cathedral city is the memory palace or anything of sort, it could be just a recreation or a left over from the "Old World". With how Accord is messing with the timeline, she may have also introduced anomalies to the universe that shouldn't be there otherwise.

I've installed the game when it came out but hesitated to play due to gacha origin. With this video, you've convinced me that it's not that bad so I've started playing about 3 months ago.
Yesterday devs announced EOS. And I'm so glad I've been in time to experience this beautiful game and its unforgettable stories. So thank you very much!

I think I kinda know what's going on. First off thematically.The two turning into weapons then being given in the cage pointed it out. Notice across the entire series one important thing, every WEAPON has a STORY. The trials, tribulations, glories, and regrets carried and gifting power in every weapon left behind by its maker/user. How do We know these stories? They are written in the descriptions, but who keeps them, who stores them, and why? I don't think anyone's going to tell Caim or Zero the stories of their weapons during their games. This seems to be a library for that kept information. What keeps the stories of the individual footnotes of a human alive but what they leave behind; their epitaphs whether it be a great discovery, a record,
And of course there's the very important overarching motif "The route will be closed." In nearly every Drak/Nier game we need to collect All the weapons to attain the last endings. The "Route" is an obvious reference to the Timelines, like in Accord's book. They're sometimes called Routes. Somehow, weapons open the way.
I cannot speculate on the higher being, but the Cursed monsters and the fact they all resemble sheet ghosts and are male and female uniformly along with the chess piece like design of the scarecrows are purposeful design choices. Design echoes through the series, especially the color contrast of Black and White, with a tinge of the other in the first like Yin/Yang. This is referenced in: The Shades/White Chlorination victims, The magic of the world like during the final battle of Drakengard, the dichotomy of the religions, Adam and Even's bodies, etc.
The Cage could be the collection point for people's "stories, remnants of their souls, for the Shades in Nier. With the higher being the Shadowlord or the Tree Shade who kept memories of mankind. The Cage may be the inside of the consciousness of the shot off missile from Nier Automata. Maybe it's even where Shadowlord and Yohna went at the end of Ending A. There's not enough information, but those are the possibilities I gather.

@@vestal3430 I'm a bit crazy too and want to write rpg stories, so I try to catch themes and it makes total sense to me. Especially after noticing the Tokyo Tower and Factory, which are basically Fixed Points in history like in Doctor Who. Tokyo Tower being where the Caim and Angelus's bodies were impaled/found and just happen to be in The Cage intact. And the Factory where the bots were being constructed.
I don't think this connects enough
i guess the cage could be a weapons fabrication facility to arm replicants against the reincarnated red eye forces, taking place before nier replicant probably
@@todd3143 I don't think so at all, the Factory's there. It even has the spinning wheels of the giant mechs the aliens made. So it has to be after Replicant.
With the heavy emphasis on memories, and particularly Mama's statement that they have to gather *all* the memories, my immediate thought was Her Inflorescence, and how she says "All memory lives within me." That's about as definite a connection as it gets in Nier terms, imo.
Of course, that then still leaves the question of what in the fuck Her Inflorescence actually is (my personal theory is that she's The Flower). Following this logic, it seems like she might be the higher being, too.
Wouldn't that mean that her Inflorescence is zero herself aka the queen beast which would confirm that the post man was working for the watchers or the gods
@@Zanzo-1 Well, not Zero herself, since Zero was only possessed/"gifted" with the Flower's power. But the Flower's connection to Zero is part of the reason why Her Inflorescence took the shape she did, I'm sure.
I swear if we find another seed at the end of this someone is going to have to do some serious gardening and use a nuke a trowel because those things are just as annoying as overgrown zits at this point why we never find one in replicant and how nines clearly missed the one at the bottom of the ark is astonishing

I completed ending E in replicant the other day, and this video as well as other people's comments made me Think...
(Spoilers)
In ending E, you have to defeat your memories in order to bring Nier back to existence. Kinda rings a bell when you look at the Reincarnation story. Someone below suggested a humanity reincarnation theory taking place after Automata (or Replicant if an alternate chain of events was started?). Indeed, there are great numbers of white and black administrators in the Cage; they could seem like good and evil but might actually both serve the ultimate purpose of restoring a human's soul from the memories.
At any rate, Yoko Taro did promise we'll see more connection to the Nier plot as we advance through Reincarnation story.
I can personally attest to the difficulty of trying to raise your Force in this game. The grinding is insufferable and you'd have to go full automatic just to accumulate coins, materials, gems, etc. And you'll have to start from scratch if there are any particular character decks you'd want to play as.
The only consolation is that you may get bits of expanded NieR lore here and there as well as coins, materials, and gems to upgrade and buy new character summons.
So with seeing these struggles you had to endure @BrandoSP, I'm extremely thankful you covered this story and look forward to more whenever this story continues if you're up for it.
I also thoroughly enjoyed how you poked fun at the NieR Wikipedia with the severe lack of content they have not added on for this game on their Fandom page. I actually mentioned it to them once before in the discord, I ultimately just decided to do it myself, but haven't because I don't know how to update Wiki pages for them.
There's also a lot of interesting lore on 2P in this game if you acquired the character.
With all the information you've covered with Chapter 12, I now have a theory in how it connects to ALL of the Taroverse.

@@RuanTune - Correction: In SC6 is just an alternate color costume. In FF14 this costume appears as 2P, a separate character from 2B, so it is known in SC6 as 2P thanks to FF14, but again, in SC6 is just an alternate costume.

Would be awesome if you could make a retrospective for the newer chapters before the game ends service.
It reminds me of the Memory Cage/tree facility that houses the memories of the world. It would make sense, in a way, if the Cage is basically the digital architecture for the Memory Cage...but the "reality" portion of it...I'm not 100% certain.
Perhaps related to the mission where the forest village citizens were all asleep and were stuck in the dream in Nier Replicant? Just my first impression

I'm happy they kept it. Just the weirdness combined with the cruelty of Fio's backstory helps distinguish her story from other key characters.
I just had this thought but remember how a2 got 2b swords and she knew 2bs memories, what if they are getting turned into weapons to store those memories in a more safe way, since the tree thingy kind of failed in keeping the memories intact
I had a feeling/intuition at the very beginning that this might be about gestalts and replicants fusng back together again. I haven't seen anything to dissuade me so far. Unfortunately, from all the grind, it looks like it's going to take most of the player's *actual lifeforce* to achieve this.
Thoughts:
1) If the *next story* involves fishing I'll jump up on my chair and say "Aha!"
2) The Androids had it *easy* with the "never-ending cycle of yada-yada-yada"

It did make me think of the Memory Trees.
The way this gacha game goes they hold out the *bait* that you will gain lore about the characters you love to keep you grinding away.
Most of the lore seems to be fragments you could already find out from the novels and strategy guides, peppered with lesser characters who may or may not show up in 'actual' games.
Even 2P from the *FFXIV NieR: Automata Collaboration* is thrown into the mix.
@@NieR.Amanda none of that is "lore" those are just collab events. The game has its own main story that isn't related to the other games on the surface, which is what's keeping people playing.
@@MtnBerry Sometimes additional lore is revealed in these collaborations, especially when Yoko Taro is involved.
This Entire game I felt like the guy from that One Meme pointing at a Butterfly asking "👋👋 Is this a Bird?" cause everytime something new got revealed like Mama, The Crows, Carrier, The Dark Gods, ect I was just there thinking " 👋👋 Are These The Watchers?!"
Also Holy S**t Carrier You Were One Of My Favorite Characters You Bastard, The Moment That Shield Broke I Obliterated His Arse With A2's Character Skill Without A Thought!
Thanks for the video summarizing the main plot! I think the Dark Memory stories for Fio and Levania will shed more light on their background, but that stuff is locked behind some pretty grindy mechanics.
The end of chapter 12 i just played was such a NieR ending. Like it was a kinda happy ending but then you have millions of ghosts. Also who the hell is the carrier working for? That last battle with him was crazy when he talks about the being he’s working for is an incredibly powerful person

Thank you for this. I just gave up on playing it because I got stuck before chapter 10 ended, right when Fio got sick. I had forgotten about the old man at the start of the game, but since I just played the chapter that the kid appeared, I instantly linked it. Also looking forward to future updates and good luck with the endless grind.
Thanks for this. I love the atmosphere, music and story of this game. But holy lord do I hate the grind and the gacha system. I'm not sure if people are there go "Wow its a real thrill getting a 4 star character with only sub 1% chance to get it" but that aint me.

I can really understand the gameplay problems... is a lot of grinding what you need to do but .. at least i think im gonna congratulate the Auto mode for making it a bit easier when grinding event quest ... i can just go on doing my stuff come back 20 minutes aprox and do it again ..... im still traped i chapter 11 because my power level is 67k...

Especially if you've followed since Drakengard. Good god I'm obsessed. some juicy, juicy shit. So good and rewarding putting it together, and so many different ways the series and/or multiverse and timelines can go.
So far we’ve only had collabs with canon games. I think that will play a part in the timeline question. It wouldn’t surprise me if Yoko Taro keeps everything within his universe canon for this game

Levania learns to become human by experiencing tragedy for the first time, and the girl becomes a monster from too much of it. Once levania becomes human, he has to re-experience the tragedy to become a monster again and reverse the process, which is why the scarecrows in chapter 1-5 were stories about experiencing tragedy. Experience tragedy and become human: experience tragedy and become a monster. …..so what does it mean to be human…?
The interesting thing about Levania, is that he is a character created in an mmorpg by a man who lives in Tokyo. Don't remember all the details from his backstory in the game but it opens lots of theories.

I really appreciate that you did this, I have loved every heart wrenching story of NiER content, however, this game really did not resonate with me, with this, I don't have to suffer and can enjoy that even a recap made me tear up a bit
Damn even when you're joking around narrating I still shed my tears by the end of chapter, that's Nier for you :D Fio and Levania look like a Replicant and Shades. And I hope those Tokyo tower and Factory scene we just saw are going to retell the story of replicant and automata.
Not sure about that, since we basically got a trailer before starting the chapter that about sums up what these chapters' overall arc is going to be about. You either play as the boy or the girl from the trailer and it seems to feature a more "mythical" realm with the first story we restore being about Saryu the witch and we already know the second character (bc Japan already got more chapters than the West); this character also has a more cutsie mythical appearance rather than mechanical like Noelle or the bald husband-wife duo.
They rather add crossover content than building it in there at the moment. The fact that they call it "crossover" rather than just a variation of stories like for the original Reincarnation characters feels like they want to keep it seperate for now. Maybe in a later set of chapters that build a more straightforward connection, but for nor, I don't see it yet.

I just want to point out a couple things. *(this will include spoilers from NieR series, especially NieR Replicant ver. 1.225...)*
Speaking of those final theories about the truth behind the Cage of Reincarnation, I noticed that at the end of the second trailer for Chapter 12 "White Autumn" a really important sentence pops out: "All Prayers Lead to the Cage". Taking that into consideration, we all know what important prayers have been made by multiple characters throughout the whole story of NieR.
That said, another important thing to my eyes is the fact that memories (Fio and Levania shapeshifting between one another and, at the end, into weapons) and literally every single memory-related item in the game (freaking purple cubes I am still having nightmares about them) are CUBES. And not a random six-square-faced three-dimensional solid object, but one that oddly looks like the cubes containing Protagonist's memory and existence in NieR Replicant ver. 1.225...'s so called "Ending E". Which, shall we say it now that we've made it this far, is located into what seems to be an incomplete, still WIP form of the Tower from NieR Automata.
What does all this have to do with everything? I don't know.
The only thing I know is that Yoko Taro has been on drugs.
And some really good ones.

yeah after finishing chapter 12 I was really confused as how it connects to the whole series and now it seems its gonna take alot of time till we find out, cause it seems they release a chapter each month, pwaah and side note I think levania already had his memories when he wakes up in the cage at the beginning of the game, if you play his character quest he says he regained all the memories when he was asleep before meeting mama and he already knew what choice he will take, or maybe I got it wrong but check it out if you want :)

I needed this. Not because mobile games aren't my thing but this game's global release is a joke. Square probably has some problems getting it into some asian stores but if Riot could do it, I think Square could too.
Perhaps the ghosts are the beings that craft all of these weapons we see in the drakenier franchise. Every weapon has a story that you unlock by levelling them up. Maybe the ghost are setting up paths and stories to make these weapons possible? In the phoenix spear story, they say a flying bird gave them two choices and the warrior took one, but he lived to regret the choice. Maybe that godlike bird was one of these ghosts? Perhaps one of the postmen which granted the wish with the power of the being he was serving to?

People are saying that it's the human server on the moon, but my thought is that it could be what's left of the machine network running simulations based on what data they have about humanity, after that ark thing was launched at the end of Automata, of course.
What's really interesting about Fio is that she was born from Royalty, she was supposed to be a princess but alas, NieR moment.

I think this is in between replicant and automata considering that humans are extinct by the time automata happens
They're dead by the time Automata happens, but the literal meaning of the word reincarnation means something like "the rebirth of the soul in a new body", so this game could easily be about reviving humanity. The entire game has to do with memories, which in Nier terms are pretty much the foundation of consciousness and the soul, so I think it's very plausible. And if it is about reviving humanity, it would most likely take place after Automata.
Well, we don't know what's going on, but we shouldn't assume that it takes place between replicant and automata just because humans are extinct in automata.

The beauty of the story was made ugly due to this grind fest. I couldnt go past chapter 10-5, when I was 41k... let alone the 75k needed for the final push. i woulnt play it again unless anybody got a trainer. The only time you really play it is when you manage the loadout and enhance your char/weap/pod, so nothing is expected from me as a player.
I´d gladly pay the full price instead of this. I wish the creators a nightmare of trainers coming from everywhere.

It'll happen eventually, I'd imagine the demand is incredibly high. And who cares if someone does it, fuck predatory monetization that is literally targeting people who are vulnerable to this shit like gambling addicts and other addictive personalities. Hell, even Yoko Taro himself wasn't exactly the most keen on this, he admitted himself that this is just another cash grab. Honestly I think all he cares about is the story and his waifu's making their appearance. Taro himself probably has his own custom version or admin rights and doesn't deal with any of this shit.
Here I was thinking about getting an android emulator just to play this game (my phones can't play it), thinking I could just do the story casually....
