I still have a copy of Ronnie Fields documentary that he put out a few years back. If there was youtube and camera phones back when Ronnie played his highlights would be beyond legendary...
If you don’t know. Ronnie Fields is a 6’2” guard that inspired Vince Carter’s epic dunk contest.
6'3 but Im feeling ya

Thanks for this all
Smoke the great Ronnie fields chi town stand up🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
The third Farragut guy in the thumbnail was Michael Wright. He made the league too. I believe he started for them as a freshmen.
He did... They were seniors wright had deceit career at Arizona. I believe he is deceased now
We love you back home ronnie you’re a Chicago legend we know how much of a dawg you was
Farragut v s Dunbar. Was a highlight reel. Film
Back when coach F. Michael was at the Bar! We lost but we had a squad
@@oliverlacey3765 the leading scorer from that Dunbar squad was out of state due to some law infractions..

Love the show Brother's keep'em coming 👍🏾💯👌🏾✊🏾✝️
yo I played 32 with Fields once at Xsport in Logan Square he was a beast and he couldnt miss. Thank you for sharing the story.
Ronnie & KG definitely were perhaps the best duo in the history of Chicago area class A/AA basketball. The only other group to come close to them outta Chicago was the trio of: Michael Finley, Sherell Ford, and Donny Boyce from Proviso East H.S. in Maywood.
And speaking of Proviso East, the event where that rap video was taped was a day party held 30yrs ago(August '94) at the forest preserve down the block from Proviso off of 1st Avenue & Roosevelt in Maywood. I could only imagine how KG gotta quick taste of the city life and decided to move as that event was the biggest one of the summer that year, with over a thousand people attending.
The best Highschool team in my opinion is Southwestern High School 1991 in Detroit, MI. They had Jalen Rose and Voshon Lenard and both of them started in the NBA. That entire roster went Division 1 BACK WHEN YOU HAD TO BE A PLAYER TO PLAY D1 Ball.
BIG FACTS #SouthwesternAlumni
@@TheTallGuyWitTheBeats Bro, that team was crazy. They had Quincy, Mike Ham, and Carlton King! Couldn't stop everybody.
Tj ford and Daniel Ewing! Willowridge!
That team was a cheat code
Ronnie Fields was definitely nice, I seen some of his high school highlights. He
actually, was really nice. He played both
ends on the gym floor, at a high level. H
He also had a nice vertical. He was truly official. I did not get the chance to see
his entire package of the game, meaning all his skills set.
What I seen, he definitely official. He played with fervency. I would love to
see some entire games of Ronnie
Fields. Opinion

Spencer Haywood and Ralph Simpson Pershing High School 1967. The entire starting 5 made it to the pro’s. Both played in the ABA and also the NBA. Paul Seals All Pro TE New Orleans Saints, Marvin Lane the Detroit Tigers and Ted Sizemore the LA Dodgers
That’s insane
Ralph Sampson did not play with spencer
Ralph Simpson , played with Spencer Haywood. Ralph Sampson was playing in the late 70’s. We are talking about 2 different people
Ralph Simpson played for the Denver Nuggets in the ABA
1976-77 West Philadelphia high School

Melvin Ely, Tai Streets and Co.... Thornton Wildcats beat them in 95 to knock them out the State Playoffs
I was at that game I went to Thornton Wildcats can't forget Antwan Randle El
@latifspincycle8291 Napolean Harris Oakland Raiders and Eric Herring who was top 100
TTHS family!.....
James Johnson, Maurice Scott, Chauncey Jones....shout out Coach Rocky Hill...
42 a game in H.S.! That's stupid! 😮
The fact that Kevin Garnett was overshadowed by a dude says all you need to know about that team.
Fields will be a Chicago legend forever. What coulda been.
nah, NY legends starbury gon bury them chi town negas doe
OJ Mayo and Bill walker best high school duo ever.
Shiiihhh a name like Ronnie fields sound like you know him
Pause
They weren’t unstoppable…how many times did they beat Peoria Manual🤣😂4 state chips in a row.
To quote Bunk Moreland
You happy now ……… ??
They all peaked in high school. Nobody is talking about Sergio McClain. No disrespect.
But if you put Manual in the Chicago Public League at that time they don’t make it to state either year. Chicago was guaranteed 1 team in the state tournament because City championship was THE championship
@@turtlehead2you crazy all Starting Lineup Was D-1 best defense in the State 😂 4 in a row 309 baby
@@turtlehead2False, Peoria was a basketball mecca back then, and even going into the early 2000’s. What Peoria did was probably the greatest accomplishment in Illinois state history. Back when there were only 1A & 2A classes. Which made the competition even tougher.
@@lastshallbefirst5516 again, I played against those guys in the summer and the season. Guys you never heard of could’ve probably went down there and won. King was good at that time, Westinghouse, Farragut, Carver lost to Farragut at City and they were tough. Thornton was the Burbs but they were close enough 😂. I’m saying you put Manual in the Red West playing these guys either they would either have been nationally ranked like Farragut was or they don’t win 4 straight. Manual did their thing, can’t take anything away from them, but if you put KG, Michael Wright and Ronnie in Peoria they would’ve done the same thing. Chicago basketball at that time was probably the best anywhere and Ronnie was the head. Would’ve been nice to see Manual vs Farragut but they had to get past 1 future NBA player and 3 future NFL players (Ely, Streets, Harris and Randle El) 😂😂. He even mentioned Paul McPhearson in this. His team was tough too.
Manual Rams beat them
Peoria was the truth. To win 4 straight titles in the greatest era of Illinois high school basketball and when they were only 2 classes …. Smh, legendary
Thornton had a good squad back then.. Peoria beat Thornton twice I think in the tournament
@@anthonymccullum2849 and they beat Quentin Richardson and Whitney Young in the quarterfinals in ‘97. Who ended up winning state in ‘98
Howard Nathan had mad game too 💯
