  • Where did Bishop Bibi go wrong in Buea Diocese?

The complaints that led to the Apostolic Visitation are about alleged violations of canon
law and flagrant abuse of power. It is not about the development projects which Bibi has carried out in 3 years. Or the alleged reform he has carried out or is carrying out. Why are we so much concerned about the construction of this and that? Is a bishop only an architect of the building?
    1. Bishop Bibi undermined all the good legacies and initiatives that Bushu diligently
    established as bishop of Buea.
    2. Bishop Bibi indiscriminately suppressed six public associations that Bishop Bushu had
canonically erected. These associations served as vivacious pillars of the diocese’s
spiritual and charitable endeavors, and their abrupt suppression caused immense harm
    to the Diocese of Buea.
    3. Bibi rendered all the clerics of these Public Associations vagi without taking care of
them nor providing any form of remuneration for them.
    4. Bishop illegitimately terminated employees of the Catholic University Institute of
    Buea, disregarding due process.
    5. Bibi sacked the board members for no just reason and refused any form of dialogue for
a peaceful resolution. These decisions hurt the livelihoods of many individuals and
have strained the invaluable work of the institute.
    6. The alleged unauthorized appropriation of funds belonging to the United States of
America-based foreign organization known as Africa ES Foundation.
    7. Bibi’s actions caused severe damage to the Diocese of Buea, undermining its ability to
serve the faithful and carry out its missions effectively.
    8. Bibi displayed a lack of pastoral charity and maturity, disregarding the well-being and
concerns of those affected by his irrational actions and unevangelical behavior.
    9. Bibi took the social media platforms to tarnish Bushu’s reputation and that of the
associations and workers harmed by his actions. These attacks further aggravated the
situation and brought unjust discredit to the individuals involved.
To clarify these troubling matters, Bushu granted an interview to Hi TV when they came
to his house for an interview clarifying the man-made crisis of the diocese by Bibi that was trending on social media. During the interview which we all watched, Bushu sought to shed light on the issues that directly related to the cherished legacies he established: CUIB, and the clerical Associations. Bushu visited the Holy See during the Ad limina Apostolorum to seek clarification and resolution.
To his astonishment, on the 22nd of November 2023, exactly a week after the Apostolic
Visitors had visited the Diocese of Buea for a canonical investigation, Bushu received a decree from Bibi suspending him from concelebrating and participating in any liturgical activities within the diocese of Buea. This unjust measure subjected Bushu to immense suffering and further exclusion from the diocesan community, leaving him deeply grieved and isolated. This was totally
against Apostolorum Successores, the New directory for Bishops.

Good retired Bishop. He is sincere unlike his successor who appears to have inner hatred to some group of priests. I prophecy he will not go far. His end is soon and eminent.
