Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts… Our dryer had been out of commission for about four years maybe even longer… We got into the habit of drying everything on a rack outside because we live in a very hot state… Your video helped us discover our lint filter was occluded with a sock and several Dryer sheets!! You saved me $800 and I cannot thank you enough
glad I was able to help. I was amazed at how easy it was to DIY
I just finished completing the same part swaps you did, using this video exclusively as a guide. Taking a relatively daunting and complex task and breaking it down into manageable steps. Likely added some life to this dryer. Well done and much appreciated!
Thank you for a very detailed instructions to replace roller wheels. You are a very good teacher and you have taken a great deal of time to make this video for people like me who likes to do it ourselves.
glad it was helpful
I was super intimidated to do this on my own. I’m a house wife and it scared me to open up my dryer, but your video was hands down the guide I needed to turn that intimidation into production. lol just waiting on my wheels and will finish fixing my dryer on my own thanks to you. Really appreciate you doing this video!
I'm glad it worked for you too
I am a CZcams junkie. I use it to fix almost anything. This is by far the best and clearest explanation on how to repair something! Bravo!!
thank you... glad it was helpful. Yeah, we went through so much frustration with our dryer and this fixed it
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I saved so much money fixing my dryer by myself!!! The step by step of this video was amazing!! I’m a visual learner so I don’t know what I would have done without this video!! Thanks again?
Nice instructions are easy to follow. I just got done with mine. Thanks
glad it was helpful
Yo, WJ Handy Dad,
Dido to all the accolades, you deserve them for taking the time and effort to make this video. I went for it this weekend as well; it was a blast. Perfectly quite now. I don’t think I would have tried it without your help/video (same model). “One screw left” not bad………..Thanks so much...ck
Excellent! Methodical and well made! Thanks for taking the time to make this, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for!!
Exceptional walk thru. Very detailed and well made video. ❤
Thank you u saved me a lot of time aggravation and money. You were right on point and explained everything perfectly.
Thank you for sharing your video! I too had a same back roller but it seized up and ground off a quarter of the wheel.
The step by step was great. I was able to use pliers to hold the nut to back panel cut outs.
glad it helped
Thank you so much, great walk through with awesome tips. Much appreciated, it gave me so much more confidence tackling this repair!
glad I could help
Your video was amazing and helped me get this project accomplished! Thank you, sir!
glad it was helpful
Thank you. This was extremely helpful
glad it was helpful
Great Video! I just did mine following your instructions and it worked out perfect! Thank you!😎
glad it was helpful
What a beauty. Made my repair a cakewalk
Thank you so much!! This helped me. I appreciate the step by step.
you're welcome
Ive worked on very expensive cars for work and this is not poor engineering its intended to keep us out IMO... Thanks there were a few bits I was not sure about.
yeah, they definitely don't want anyone to be able to DIY anything any more
@@WJHandyDad There is no way its not intentional Im pretty sure LG makes them.. Thanks for posting the video it made it way easier and Ill take the $40 and my time VS whatever that would have cost I doubt it would have been cheap..
This video is awesome it saves me $$$.You should do a video on the Elite washer, please.
I did a video on the drain pump which is the most common failure point.
where i can find it ? i was looking at your videos and didn't see it. THANKS!!!!!@@WJHandyDad
@@josevillaman183 it must have slipped through the cracks. That happens every once in a while - I might film several videos in a weekend and then forget to edit and upload one of them. I'll try to get it done soon.
Thank you brother I will be in the lookout.
I thank you a million time and some more. Your video was layout perfectly!
glad it helped
13:15 time stamp, you dont have to remove the whole hose, in the back of your dryer there should be this plastic cover that you can open like an oven door, then from there you will have access to where the hose connects. The hose should have this plastic lock which you can squeeze and pull out and it should just click back in as well once you put it back.
Thank you for this in depth tutorial, I used it to fix our dryer which had a knocking sound. One of the rollers went bad and metal shaving was all over the dryer. Our dryer is 14 years old and all that lint inside looked like carpet. Definitely a fire hazard.
thanks for the tip
How can you replace the rear support wheel ?
CZcams should have a reverse playback option
hello and thanks kindly for the great video. can i ask if you have any idea why when trying to remove that lint trap housing, my machine, which looks exactly like yours has only 2 screws. i do not see that third screw that you describe and show toward the middle of the housing. and i cannot remove that piece, nor the blower housing from below thanks
I wish I had an answer for you. Make sure the screws aren't covered in lint. There should be 4 total, but only 3 need to come out
I have the same model , but issue is not heating up, also notification up check filter, I did clean many times, any advice how to dis the heating?
I got that check filter whenever the ducting in the house was clogged (which was regularly with this dryer - way too much lint got past the screen). Not heating up probably means heat element.
Removing the control panel at 3:38 is the washer control panel, not the dryer.
Awesome video. Mine is having the exact same issue. Where did you get the drum wheel kit
I always put links in the video description
what is the model # of the wheel kit you ordered? do you mind sharing? thx.
links are always in the video descriptions: drum rollers: amzn.to/3TvocJw
heat element: amzn.to/3fYro2x
dryer fuse and thermostat: amzn.to/3O0ItoV
Do you know if this kenmore elite dryer starts if i toss a batch of dry clothes in there? Or do I need the clothes to be damp in order to test start a cycle?
when in doubt set it to a timed cycle instead of an "automatic" cycle
@@WJHandyDad Opened it all up easily thanks to your video! Turned out to be a broken belt.
@@WJHandyDad replacing my belt now, im at the step to put the shield back on, but as soon as i do the drum gets “stuck” and impossible to turn by hand. Whereas you were able to turn it easily as a quality check. Does the drum sit radially along the wheel tread, or co-axially along the side?
@@oscartan1389 it seemed to me like it fit together very logically when I did it. But it should definitely turn smooth and easy. Make sure you have the belt routing right too
@@WJHandyDad all fixed now thanks! I rewatched the video more carefully and needed to get the drum over the front wheels, my mistake was not getting it fully over which clamped down the wheels. Thanks again!
Could I remove the 4:47 - 8:30 pieces all as 1 sub-assembly?
I don't know. If you try please let us know if it worked
@@WJHandyDad It ended up working, only need to take out the screws to the metal drum shield, and left the metal stamped part + plastic lint basket attached. Took it all out as one piece. The downside is, you wouldn't be able to clean it out as you recommended in the video (it does get dirty). But I took that trade-off for time.
unfortunately I can never save that step because ours always needs to be cleaned, even if I cleaned it recently. That thing gathers up lint so much faster than any dryer I had previously
lint screen being put back at 0:23 looks dirty.
it had just done a load of clothes
That dryer absolutely sucks for maintenance
I don't have anything else to compare to. I figured it was probably like that with most of the ones made in the last 10-20 years but maybe not
