Thank you. This was helpful! With our machine going on about 20yo, it was waaaaaaaay overdue for a cleaning. Lots of dust and about $2 in coins! Our main issue was a broken drive belt. Cost of the belt was less than $10. For anyone interested, my machine is the Kenmore Elite HE3. We went at the belt from the front and got everything back together and working! I just can't help but wonder if it would have been way easier to just open the back of the machine instead. We could have skipped all the ribbon cables, wiring clips and bulkhead. That said, we did get to do a good cleaning by opening the front. The belt change was easier than reattaching the dang vent hose! Not a lot of room behind the machine, and the vent hose is stiff. Probably should replace it with a flexible style hose. This was a mother-daughter project... quite proud of our repair work! 😊
