the NEST REQUIRES the cloud for remote control, the Venstar has a builr in API so you dont have to use their Cloud like you do on the nest.. you can also get different Bezels that Make it Look Nicer.

The plastic casing looks cheap and tacky. Aluminum case and clean up your UI. It looks like some PC nerds designed it. I love my Nest.
