    Your reviews are not obnoxiously commercial--it's like talking to a friend about camera gears it's comfortable and soothing to the eyes and ears.

    Great review! I am waiting for this lens and the 18F2 to arrive. I had the XF 16 1.4 which is really awesome but a little too big to my liking.

    I personally recommend this lens, the image quality is nice and crisp when I show the people I'm blackmailing their sins in HD.

    This lens will be my next purchase to compliment my X-E3 and two zooms (15-45 & 55-200).

    Great video. What hood is that? I also don’t really like the original hood.

    Do you have to remove the metal lens hood for using an nd filter??

    I bought fuji x-pro1 combo with 35 f1.4… i love this lens. Later on i sold my xpro-1 then bought the x-t2, because x-pro1 is slow autofocus and dont have wireless transfer pictures, now after i saw this video, i missed my x-pro1…

    The 35/1.4 was one of the worst XF lenses I've used. Loud, awful sound, wishy-washy aperture ring, weak AF C. A great relief to sell it. What a fabulous marketing achievement from Fujifilm to sell such an old and outdated lens for such a long time and to sell this as "magic".
    The 33/1.4? Pure fun.

    • @MattJacobs
      @MattJacobs  Před 2 lety +8

      It’s not that loud 😂 it would never ever bother a paying client in most situations. Maybe at a church ceremony or something but even then I doubt it. I agree about the aperture ring and the AFC to some extent. The AFC works fine for talking head videos in my experience. I’m sure the 33 f/1.4 is great but I don’t have the money for that and im happy with the results I get out of the 35, professionally and for person use. To each their own.

      @@MattJacobs totally agree. There are People that only buy lenses to shoot brick walls and put the mic to test how loud is. I have used both lenses and the difference are minimal and if yor work ás proffesional no client say "uf, this lenses it's too loud, uf this lens it's no sharp enough, so give me back my money 😎

      Have you tested xf35f1.4 with newer cameras? With newer firmware for newer cameras as xt4 etc? It is totaly amazing! Much faster autofocus. And noise? Maybe you have sensitive ears? Would check that UP if i where you.
      Love from Norway
