    Nice video Seim. I went with the 16 2.8, 35 and 50mm f2 primes for my X-T30 and skipped the 23 since my X100F has a fixed 23mm lens with that sweet leaf shutter... Love the size and build quality of Fuji lenses.

    Thank you very much. That gave me a great idea of the different focal lengths.
    Currently contemplating wether to go for a more wide angle (12 mm) lens or for the 50mm.
    I’m currently using an analog camera with a 40mm equivalent. As for my Fuji I’ve got the 27mm as a carry around.
    So far I’m doing mostly kind of street photography but it would be interesting to do something different.

    I have been an oly fan and user for the last few years having switched from Nikon, then to canin and then to oly over the years. Have been thinking about the Fuji and only now with the xt4 does it begin to make possibly some sense. However don’t want to over invest in lenses to start with but also do a lot of video hence my dilemma is which might be the best one or two lenses to consider. Right now I am leaning towards the 35mm f2 wr and possibly the 16-80 f4 - any reactions, thoughts or recommendations?

    I own the 18 f/2, 23 and 35 f2 and 50mm f/0.95 Canon rangefinder (with adapter) and love them all.
    2 days ago I was photographing the Soviet era shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, a city by the Baltic Sea, where the very first bombardment of the World War 2 took place and at this very shipyard also first civilian rebellion started against Polish government, a government that took its orders from Soviet Moscow back then. So it was historically super important place. We were in the area for a wedding so I spent a little time near the ship yard. The 18mm was not enough. I am now officially in the market for a wider lens. Thanks to Fuji, options are not so limited. Will keep you posted!

I've found that I use the 'Cron series on my X-T2 which I keep in a big bag with the rest of my landscape / cityscape gear. The 18mm + 27mm are in a smaller 'grab and go' bag with my older X-E2. • @StuartWeir
      @StuartWeir Před 4 lety +1

      @@KristiGay1973 what makes it 'crap'? I have yet to see any sample photos that show that it's not a great lens. That's not to say "you're wrong" or something like that, but if you think about the history of photography, most iconic photographs were taken on lenses that are less sharp than the 18mm (if thats the case with the lens). All that being said, here's hoping for a 18mm f2 (or 2.8) R WR

    • @murmor6890
      @murmor6890 Před 4 lety

      @@StuartWeir In terms of IQ it slightly looses out against the other primes that are around that focal length and in terms of compactness it is quite compact but not as compact as the 27mm. A true pancake like the 27mm makes a difference, but the 18mm compared to the Fujicrons (except the 90mm) not that much. What really kills it for me is the price, it is a quite expensive lens compared to most Fujicrons and the 27mm and there isn't really anything to warrant that.

    8:05 that makes no sense. When you use a 90 f/2 on a crop sensor it behaves like a 135 f/3 on a full frame. It's basically a totally different lens when on crop.

      @msandersen Před 4 lety

      The FF Equivalence is just a comparison tool. The size of the sensor doesn't change the characteristics of the lens, just how much is imaged. If you stand in the same spot, the only difference between the FF and APS-C 90mm/f2 is the framing (in terms of image look). But because APS-C is cropped, we tend to move further away to frame it the same, hence the bokeh is less for the same framing. From the same spot, a 135mm at f/3 on a FF would have the same approximate framing and depth of field.

      I’ve been using the non-WR 23mmf1.4 for a long time now. From stormy beaches to heavy downpours. No problem whatsoever. As long as you’re not leaving it unprotected out in the heavy rain and cover it a little when not using it, you should be fine. A newer 56mm f1.2 would be nice, but mostly for faster, more precise and quieter AF, than for WR.

      Brilliant. Thank you for letting everybody shooting on apsc in on this vital information. We’ve been living a lie. You’re a hero

    Thank you for the content. Most important part of the video where different focal lengths are compared when subject being same size in the frame, you appered on the screen speaking distracting the most important comparison also making the images appear small that the comparison didn’t show much details, whilst talking too much at the same time and quickly passing that section. Bro that is the most important element in this comparison 😂 ok sorry for complimig but take it as positive feedback. Thanks formthe effort..

    Most street shooters actually prefer a 35mm equivalent (23 Fuji) not a 50mm equivalent.

      I shoot street a lot but for me 25 eqiv is usually too wide. Honesty I use a 50 (80 eqiv) the most

    Not knowing anything about this channel, 4:10 made me feel very uncomfortable. Why did you keep that in?

    "Some don't consider the 90mm a Fujicron class." Ya think? The lens lineup in the beginning is like the IQ test where it asks, "which of these five objects does not belong?" And the answer is: #5.
    My real fujicrons were all under $500. My 90mm was $950. Enough said.

    Those who never used FF, the 35mm equivalence is useless.
    Every single fuji lens, prime or zoom, is excellent even their XC line, it all comes down to the focal length you prefer.
