I don't know why people didn't like the sequel. I liked it, especially the huge army of trucks! It was my favorite part, along with Buford being outwitted by truckers on the way.
This movie demonstrates why you should never mess with truckers cause you never know who's gonna come out of the driver's seat!
The reason why people didn't like the 2nd movie could be because Bandit turns heel. However, Frog, Snowman, & Charlotte gave Bandit a 2nd chance to get his life right.
The reason why people didn't like the 2nd one and liked the 3rd one even less was because they were too cartoonish. You could imagine the first one really happening if you didn't think too hard and just relaxed and enjoyed the story, but the other 2 were just two outlandish.

These are my favorite movies before I watched the action movies like the James Bond films and Indiana Jones films and I love the real stunts and car action didn’t use CGI

I grew up on Smokey and the Bandit and when Burt Reynolds passed away I was in High School and some people said it didn’t matter and some of my friends knew I was sad and they said it mattered because of me
I loved the first one this one is really funny the 3rd one well I like to pretend that one doesn't exist
Why didn't they reuse the clam chowder plot for this film?

Maybe a red Cadillac as the star car wouldn’t have been as popular an idea as the Trans Am. Plus with all the damage to Buford’s police car in the first film, I doubt it would’ve made it all the way to Boston and back.

Why does that narrator (the one from “Universal Pictures presents” to the end) sound familiar? He sounds like he narrated some trailers for the classic Disney movies on VHS.
