Burt Reynolds was the second pick for Boogie nights, the first is Bil Murry which is a better choice.
"For the good old American life: For the money, for the glory, and for the fun... mostly for the money." R.I.P. Burt Reynolds
Why can't we find men like this any longer? Fast Long hauler... against the clock for Big and Little Enos Burdett?
Jerry Reed was a truck driver.

The Glory 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Couldn't say it better
miss the 60s 70s and 80s those were the good old days
Back in the 70s the Confederate flag just meant "rebel"
Still does to most people
That’s what me and my brother talked about a few days ago. I agree with you 100% and I’m Hispanic. People nowadays are such sniveling crybabies.
It also did in the 80’s when I was a kid.
Just like the dukes of hazzard
Yea, ok… lol
This brings tears to my eyes and a knot on my throat, not only by knowing that Burt, Jerry and Jack are gone, but make me remember about simpler times, when I just hope the summer vacation to come soon to watch this on TV, drinking some chocolate milk and eating some cookies...
I felt that to the Bone!🏁🙏💪🏿

Gleason, Reed, anyone else I'm missing?
Two of the coolest guys ever...... Burt and Jerry......much respect ❤
When movies were meant to be fun and enjoyable.
And close to reality too, makes those scenes from "Fast and Furious" look "computerized"...
THIS
Now they are WOKE
One of the best movies ever. I like looking back at this remembering how much fun this time period was to live in and be a part of. CB radios, fast cars, stunts, great humor, this movie had it all.
I recall the truckers would blow at passing cars, especially with kids in the car. My dad always blew back. Even in the 70s. Folks were courteous, waved, blew, and driving on the highway was fun/relaxing. Those days are gone unfortunately.
Oh I miss it
Jerry Reed was one of the greatest guitar players ever. Burt was a great actor and Sally was and still is a fine actress and oh so fine for the eyes. Jackie Gleason one of the funniest comedian's of all time. This movie never gets old.
This movie is definitely in my top ten. In 1983, when I was aged 11, my parents took me on holiday to the States. I had grown up on this movie and was obsessed with American muscle cars and trucks. One morning, when we were leaving the hotel, I came across a black Trans Am complete with gold eagle on the bonnet. I can still remember the feeling to this day. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
Oh yeah
Well I grew up in New England back in the '70s, and for two weeks every Summer we would visit my mother's family in the Deep South and it seemed as though in every other driveway sat either a Trans Am or a Camaro or a GTX Hemi or a Mustang, etc., and all with fat tires and rear spoilers. Just a very different world.
How can ANYONE "dislike" this song...!?!?
Only if your insane!
they disliked cause they have no taste
They never rode past a truck and the driver blew... They probably never sat in the back seat with mama and daddy ridding in fam vacation enjoying the ride... And last but not least... They never ran from smokey and made it while with the girl right next to em... 😂😊😂
Might not be the song but the flag on Bandits' car licence plate?
Only can be disliked if they are Communists!💩
My dad was a truck driver all his life hauling pipe and steel some of my favorite memories are when mom would let me go with him sometimes in the summer truckers got the most respect back then he gone now but I still remember I just turned 58 yesterday and still miss those days RIP world famous RED EAGLE
When times were so much more simpler & you knew who the good guys were from the bad guys. R.I.P. Bandit!
@Sabah Zarid a wardrobe ll
Hard to say who the bad guys are... All of them lovable.
But very easy to say who the good woman is...
Yep, before all that diversity...
What are you talking about lol. Duality and good/bad character ambiguity aren’t new things, just ask Shakespeare (he also played around with race and gender). The “simple times” didn’t exist.
Even the bible speaks of wolves in sheeps clothing... But with Love in your heart you can see the good from the bad... Remember you wouldn't know Love if not hate... Same with Good and Evil... Takes one to know one... A theif can spot a theif... but once a theif not always a theif... Just change and spot the new ones for the community... Love yall

You lost the civil war son...Northerners busted your scum southern states.
This TRANS AM is one time machine.... a classic movie ...
A fitting tribute to the late Burt Reynolds. Rest in peace.
Jerry Reed’s song is absolutely perfect for this movie.
I come back to this song every now and then. Jerry and my dad grew up together. When my dad passed away, Jerry came to the funeral and played and sang Amazing Grace. After the funeral, we spent a good bit of time with me just listening to him talk about the kinds of things he and my dad got up to when they were younger.
RIP Bandit. Legends never die.
They just loose weight
In the Hal Needham documentary, he said they were given six Pontiac Trans Ams by GM, they dressed them up identical (auto trans, black leather, T-top) and pulled the 6.6L out completely, and swapped in Chevy 427 crate motors making over 500hp. The color scheme was crated for the 76 T/A and it was inspired by the John Player Special Formula 1 car which is why it was black and gold as it was.
They wrecked all but one car beyond salvage, and that one needed it's frame aligned and that was the one that was auctioned. Many of the stunts were driven by Buddy Joe Hooker, who was the inspiration for the character of Hooper that Burt went on to play.
To ppm move side six sister you rear cat it list can var car
That's mostly correct, but the interior was vinyl, not leather. There wouldn't be a leather interior in a 2nd generation Trans Am until 1979 with the 10th Anniversary model (and that was the only model in the 2nd generation with a leather interior). They were indeed 1976 Black Special Edition (RPO code Y82) models, but had the front ends updated to 1977 and the graphics changed so that they would look up to date when the movie came out. 1976 models had the engine call out on the scoop in cubic inches and 1977 had it in liters. The fact that shots show the scoop reading "6.6 LITRE" meant that originally left the Norwood, OH GMAD facility where they were built fitted with the 180 HP of the Pontiac 400 or the Oldsmobile 403. Only the W72 high output version of the 400 for 1977 to 1979 had "T/A 6.6" on the scoop.
The Sheriff and his son - legends 😂😂😂 born 85 and raised with movies like that. Still love it.
This is, and always will be, one of my favorite classic movies.
R.I.P Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed, Fred the Dog, and Jackie Gleason
Yes!🙂
+ R.I.P Mike Henry.
“There is no way you come from my loins, when we get home, I’m gonna punch yo momma in da mouth”. One of the best lines in movie history right there!
You name it, yeaah, you're soooo right!!! 👍👍☺️☺️
Man, I just watched this video and told that line to my wife.
This film has a big part on my childhood memories, I remember that every single summer vacation in school, they put this one on the TV grade, that were good times...
@@DIZAZZO
Did she punch you in da mouth???? LOL
That is a hilarious line from jackie gleason. I am curious how many people broke out laughing at that in the theaters?
From Ralph Kramden's BANG ZOOM TO THE MOON ALICE! Ralph and Sheriff Justice must've come from the same loins!

Burt Jerry and Jackie are gone now rest in peace and it was one of the saddest days in Burt Reynolds life when he let Sally Fields get away to quote him thanks for the great entertainment
Don’t forget Jerry reed and Jackie Gleason those to also have passed away.👍😁😎
You all forgot about Fred

I wish we could go back to those days….
Als Filme noch geile Filme waren 😊
I'm 42 and I just saw this movie for the first time a few years ago and have watched it a lot of times since. I don't know what took me so long to put this movie on my bucket list but I'm glad I did. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
It is a classic.. it always cheers me up.. lots of fun
I’m an old CBer from the 70s and saw this movie at the theater.
Times were so much simpler back then and people were much more friendly.
Respect to a former king of d road 👏
I'm a lifer in this movie, saw it in the theater with my Dad. Now in 2024 I've got a special project car in the back yard, a 1977 FORMULA FIREBIRD, I paid $400 CASH for. She's my Junkyard Dawg Beauty Queen!
An absolute classic, as a limey, this film made me fall in love with American cars and trucks when I saw it as a kid in the late 80’s- early 90’s. I always said if one day own an American car, and 6 months ago I fulfilled that ambition. It’s a Mustang and not a Trans-am, but who knows what the future will bring. RIP Burt Reynolds, RIP Jerry Reed, RIP Jackie Gleason, RIP Hal Needham.
Only Burt and Jerry the best out of all they made, can't do any better than this one and Jackie they just did it right and not to tell my age but actually watched it at a drive in and have it today on a DVD 😂 just awesome!
OH and let's not forget Sally alright, alright, alright ❤
This was one of the great movies of all time. Great comedy and captured the spirit of truckers and the CB culture. Rest in peace Snowman(Jerry Reed) Sheriff Burford T Justice(Jackie Gleason) and of course The Bandit(Burt Reynolds)
Great comedic actors, REAL stunts. Still fresh after all these years!
“My hat blew off daddy”
“I hope that goddam head was in it” As good as Burt was Jackie Gleason was the highlight of this movie
No doubt about that.
This movie is so nostalgic to me. The age of cb radios, trans ams, and of course Mr. Burt Reynolds. RIP
Very true. CB radios were cool in that era.
You can't help but speed when you hear this song!
When movies made by hand and not by a computer
Loved Smokey and the Bandit movies! Loved Burt and Jerry Reed! Never get tired of those movies!
I'd hate to say it, but 2 was a piece of crap.
A milestone of movie magic and one of the most entertaining romps in cinema history. You can't really ask for more.
This will always be in my top 20 movies of all time,.love this song, R.I.P BURT & JERRY
Watched the film again after more than 30 years. I was surprised how much fun I thought it was, not seeing it from a child's perspective anymore. It was a lot of fun, I loved it, will buy it as a DVD for a friend of mine now. Oh yeah, and the music! Jerry Reed. Perfect.
Still one of the best action packed movies of all times.
I was 10 years old again all of a sudden: thank you.
Great driving song! Makes me want to take a road trip! My dad had CB radio in his company car, a 1976 Plymouth Volare, because he travelled around OH, PA and WV for work. He later gave me the car after I totalled my Firebird on black ice in 1981. I never used the CB but when I drove cross country in 1984 but as a woman alone was glad to have it.
Well, do it!
@@matthewjahnke6956 hard to take a long road trip when you love in Hawaii 😃. Can go all around Oahu in half a day!
Watched this first time as a kid, and immediately wanted to become a semi truck driver 😁😁 I've watched this countless times by now over decades. My dad loved it too and even today, this reminds me of him.
It definitely has its place of honor in my DVD collection!
Just watched Smokey & the Bandit I & II dvd's last weekend.. Classic!
I can't tell you how many Saturday and Sundays I spent as a kid watching this movie. I always had a thing for hot rods so that was the main reason I watched it. That gorgeous black Trans An.. I always had a fast car. A 65 Mustang
.a 94 camaro Z28 and now a 2022 Mustang GT... this movie is definitely a classic. I hope it is never forgotten
I had the identical Bandit Edition 77 Trans Am back in 1985-87. I can't believe I sold that car! 😪 But it's easy to say that now.
Sally Field was a Cutie
Ohhhh hell yes..lol
Sally Field is perfect in every detail. A beautiful woman indeed
Beautiful a** shot of Sally @ 1:07 !!
@@dm95422 - Yes... those of us that watched her as "The Flying Nun" certainly got to see a different side of her there. 🤣😜😆
I was lucky enough to meet her back in 2018, still a very beautiful lady.

You could not I think have have had a better crew for this movie.
That said I still chuckle when I hear that quiet, insane cackle of Burt Renolds.
Thank you for doing this. I love this movie and really haven't processed that the Bandit is gone.

Anybody else just floor it in the car when this comes on?

Look, I like Fast and Furious movies and newer car movies, but they ain't got shit on good ole Smokey and the Bandit. Nuff said.
Hmmmm Smokey and the Bandit et al + Cannonball et al VS Fast and Furious series.....
I agree it ain't even close. Those 70's / 80's movies win hands down.

Can't beat The Blues Brothers for good ol' fashioned wrecking yard worthy action either.. I think that movie still holds the record for the most cars trashed in less than two hours.
@@consciousbeing1188 Oh, absolutely!
In the 80s a friend of mine had a CB. It seemed like there were a million "Bandits" on at any given time lol.
I love playing this song on my drums. What a killer busy groove! This song sounds perfect when it’s loud and you’re the only one on the road.
I had a chance to buy a trans am but I thought they would be around forever so I put it off. Damn. This particular model is so sought after. Just this one. Cheers to the late, Pontiac. 🫡🤧🙄
