- My 2,109th kite video. Conditions were not great for kite-flying, but Peter and I and a friend from Germany managed to have some fun with a few kites.
Anyone wanting to check out all my "How to..." videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at / jimskitesnz .
Beautiful! And it’s always fun to share kites with friends.
It certainly is! Thanks for watching, Margaret.
Nice video Jim. Strong wind. Those spinners where really spinning. Looked a little cool. Thanks Jim!
It's getting quite cold here now, Dewey, as we head into winter, with a lot of frosty mornings. Since making this video I haven't been able to fly as it has rained every day for a week.
Amazed how the rear 4 bridle lines on the 'Into the wind' Parafoil 10 were really doing nothing !
Good to blow the cobwebs out once and a while eh ?
My cheap ray ( identical to yours) performs the same. But, great value for money.
Fair winds to you Jim !!!!
The cobwebs were certainly blown! The bridle on the Parafoil 10 can be adjusted, and I could probably have got the rear lines working better, but I didn't want to take it down and try on this occasion. The ray is definitely worth having.
I like the Ray. It’s so lively with its tail whipping around. The spinners were attention-getting too. They got my attention. Haha.
It's always good to have movement with the kites, as long as it's not too wild and crashes them. I hope your travels are going well. I watched part of your latest upload (Bangkok nightlife), but it's definitely not to my taste so I didn't comment. I'm looking forward to your next one, whatever it may be.
@@JimNicholls Jim, thanks for letting me know the videos that you rather not watch. That's Indian festivals with body peircing rituals and raucous, noisy streets with music (noise) blasting away.
There will be 2 more Bangkok Nightlife videos coming up. 'Rambuttri Road' - which you might like as it has food and pleasant live music performances. And 'Sukhumvit Road' which I think you may not like, as it shows street walkers and gogo bars at the end.
My 'Khaosan Road' videos have longetivity. People will watch these even after 1 or 2 years to see how the street evolve over the years.
My mainstream videos remain as food, shopping, walking tours, festivals and wet markets. I always look forward to your comments as I find them well thought out and meaningful 😊
I'm showing my age with my dislike of the raucous street-life, but I never was a great fan of such behaviour even in my youth. And body piercings make me feel ill. Your videos, whatever the subject, are always interesting and extremely well made. I hope you continue making them for a long time.
Thank you for sharing Jim...
You're very welcome, Craig.
3 of us had a kite fly yesterday in similarly strong winds. I did a double-take when I saw you opening kite, the Gomberg Super Sled, with matching Banner Tail: it was identical to one of the kites launched by long time friend, Bob.
That's a good kite, and it's a great pity that, like all the Gomberg products, it's no longer available. I hope you had a good time and will have many more during your coming summer.
Great show Jim. That was a lot of wind for you guys. Ron
We get stronger winds than that quite often, Ron, but we don't often bother flying then. This time, because John was visiting, I decided we'd give it a go.
Very nice! Hope I get some time to fly now that schoolwork is getting less
Thanks, Evan. I hope your weather is good when you have time to fly.
Hi Jim,
I just watched the video for the second time, and it's hard to believe that this was more than two weeks ago from today. It feels like I was flying that kites only a few nights ago.
Yes, time flies, John, and sadly the older you get the faster it goes. I hope all's well back in Germany, and I'll be checking out your videos. All the best!
Good video
I'm happy that you enjoyed it.
Hear anything from Mustafa?
He commented on one of my videos two weeks ago, and said he would be reporting on developments, but I've heard no more yet. I hope his job-hunting has been successful, anyway.
@@JimNicholls I would have thought he secured employment long ago. Hmmm.
@@PanyingPilot Not easy where he lives.
