83 years old! and still playing whit kites. Amazing Jim
Some of us never grow up, Henk!
@@JimNicholls lol. indeed
Wow Jim, quite an ambitious outing. Beautiful display. Nobody would have guessed it was a one-man display!
Conditions were good, Sheryl, so I decided to give it a go. If I didn't have to pack them up afterwards I would have put more up!
Terrific display, love those trios of FlowTails!
It's definitely the best way to fly flowtails!
You sure have fun flying each day, but this display is one of your best.
Thanks, Mark. I don't usually fly so many kites these days, but the conditions were so good on that I made an extra effort on this occasion.
A beautiful Flowtail session with 19 kites. An impressive 'kite festival'. I recall the previous time you flew this many kites was in honour of a friend who passed away. You decorated the sky during his funeral service. A good send-off.
I don't often fly so many kites these days, but that particular day the conditions were excellent and I had a little more energy than I sometimes do. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Very impressive. I enjoyed watching all the 19 kites. On your 84th birthday you need to fly 84 kites with the help of your friends.
I certainly have enough kites to do that, David, but I'm not sure it will happen! Thanks for the thought, though.
A beautifull blue sky filled up with a lot of kites. Nice video Jim like always😊. 83 is only a number. As long as you feel good... keep on doing kiteflying. It keeps you (us) fit anyway.
I'd be on the beach more often, Eddy, if the weather allowed, and I'll certainly try to keep going .
A fantastic display Jim....thank you for your hard work in sharing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Craig. I won't be doing that every time, but now and again I like to put on a special show.
Wonderful display Jim. All looks great but I think the green cubes were my favourite.
That's an attractive design, Steven - printed rather than sewn like the others, but very effective.
AMAZING display Jim...just WOW!!!... love it!..
If I'd had more time (and energy), I would have added a few more, but I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.
Ok…. My wife thinks I am crazy…. I will show her your display and then she will know I’m not the only one! Well done! I hope you got them stowed before sundown!
Sundown is very early here, Steve, as it's midwinter, but yes, I managed. I hope the video helps to convince your wife that your insanity is not unique.
Yes. I saw them when I am working at that day.Very big nice picture.
That was the last time that I flew, Jiang. The weather has been no good since then. I'm glad you saw them.
dream kite.. perfect kite performance. thank you for sharing the video.🎉
Thank you for watching! I hope you're still having fun with your kites.
Looks amazing Jim what a wonderful display great effort and thanks for sharing 👏👏
Thanks, Brian. I haven't seen any videos from you for quite a while. I hope all's well and you're managing to do some flying now that summer's arrived in your part of the world.
Bravo Jim. You are a flying machine! Impressive solo display.
Thanks, David. I won't be doing that every time, but once in a while is OK!
Brilliant Jim! Truly a great show!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I haven't been able to fly since then, as the weather has been bad.
Amazing display. I know nobody who has so much flowtail. 😊
I have more that I would have liked to add. If I'd had a helper the display would have been bigger for sure.
Absolutely stunning Jim!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Hal. I hope the summer is not too hot in Montana, although I've seen some stories about high temperatures in the USA recently.
Fantastic display, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
An excellent "Flowtail Kite Festival." On a fine Winter's day...🌞
It was an exceptionally good day for the time of year, with a nice steady breeze, so I made the most of it.
Very nice show .... and a lot of work!
Thanks, Scott. Yes, it kept me quite busy!
Man Jim, all the flow tails looked awesome. Such fun. Ron
They are some of my favourite kites, Ron, and always look good. Glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing, thank you for sharing ❤
You are welcome!
Wow Beautiful kites Flying sir 🙏🏼 Nice Shering 👍🏼
Thanks for watching, Vikram.
Looks very cool!
Thanks, Evan, and I'm happy that you enjoyed it.
You can organize a 'solo' kite festival😂. Last month I visited a small kitefestival in Westend combines with a VW T1 camper festival, at the Belgian coast near Ostend... there were only 5 kites in the air😢...
I'd regard five kites as a quiet day, Eddy, so how they can call that a kite festival I don't know. I hope the camper festival was better attended. Have fun!
Superb display Jim!
Thanks, Nigel. Do you still do some flying? I haven't seen a video from you for a very long time.
@@JimNicholls Hi Jim. I do occassionally fly but I just don't have much time to fly or make videos these days. I love watching yours though
Is this another of your video editing tricks? 19 kites and one flyer! Well done. I know you have been waiting for that one suitable day to fly the fantastic flowtails again. Looks like this "high" winter weather pattern is giving you some "cool" flying.
It was one good day among many bad ones, Carl, and I haven't flown since. The forecast looks bad for the next 7 days at least.
Nice video Jim. 19 Flow Tails and you were solo. It was beautiful, but I bet it was a lot of work taking down. Thanks Jim!
Taking down is always the least fun, Dewey. I like to take care over packing them away so that they are ready to fly the next time and not all tangled up, so it does take a bit of time.
Good one Jim. At a kite festival with Paul and Helene Morgan ( Skybums), Karl Longbottom etc. No wind basically and on/off rain for a lot of the day. I haven't seen 19 different kites aloft all day !!!!! 😢
@TheKRU251 You are in good company, but what a disappointment the English summer is proving. I hope you have better luck next time! I have two of Karl's doves, and the Face kite from Paul and Helene - great designers all.
I have many Skybums kites as you know plus two Karl Pterodactyls, a Pearson Roller and a Phoenix that I love plus just bought one of his 'Owls' in the festival's auction. An older one made when his kite company was "Bottoms Up" Kites by Karl ( but name changed after internet searches got 'awkward' ha ha).
Seems in great condition and just 15ukp !
@@TheKRU251 Sounds as if you got a bargain, even if the flying was a disappointment.
Jim, I saw all the stacked kites and just knew you were going to fly the Into The Wind stack with the Alpine, Rocky Mountain, and Mesa DC. Well maybe next go around ;). Thanks for the video!
Sorry to disappoint you, Ray! I don't think I have the Mesa anymore, but I have three Rocky Mountain, so will hope to be flying them sometime in the not-too-distant future.
@@JimNicholls Jim it is interesting you mentioned the Mesa kite because I do not think it is being sold anymore by Into the Wind.
@@rayr1426 Most of their kites have not been produced for several years now since they lost the factory in China that they had always used. Some have come back recently, including the Alpine and Rocky Mountain DCs, but not the Mesa. A lot of the more expensive kites will probably never come back.
I ❤ those flow tails! Looks likr organza ?
The tails on the flowtails are of taffeta nylon, Amy. Robert Brasington uses organza for most of the tails on his kites, but the effect is rather different.
Как дельты с килем соединены в поезд? К какому месту на затылке нижнего змея крепится леер от киля верхнего змея?
It depends on the kite. I show two methods of doing it in these videos: czcams.com/video/-scfZJOT4y0/video.htmlsi=CWEoZYmMRRGC7vZQ and czcams.com/video/6tq-Y150zOs/video.htmlsi=civWH0VHkKckQSH- but there are probably other ways you can do it.
@@JimNicholls Благодарю, буду пробовать...
Have fun!
