great stuff.... keep up the comparisons - good information for us all, I use the HO scale in the UK, its very scarce over here as everything is in 1/32 scale normally, but we do have some sets in H0 (1/64) I have developed a four lane set for the micro scalextric series we have in the UK, I have about 40 H0 cars, and about 8 sets worth of track. so always looking at content like this for ideas, yes I run Tyco/Aurora/Micro Scalextric cars plus others in this scale too.

I was really surprised that the Bulldog w the N35 mags didn't drive better. Dusty track perhaps? The the super 7"s are no joke & a real bargain for the numbers it lays down.
Track was cleaned and you saw how the other cars ran compared to the Bulldog. I was surprised too! Going to take another look at it today and see if the shoes need tweaking.

Thanks Ed, the Super 7 SC will probably be your better bet if using plastic AFX type track, it's a little bit higher off the track than the GTS. I actually prefer the SC over the GTS on my track.
Bulldog has it on price but the S7 is more versatile, I personally like F1 bodies and have many to repair/paint, so I'm sure I'll be picking up some s7 as they seem to run great, but are less expensive than the viper. Now Viper takes the cake for mods, but not every chassis gets the big money parts. Looks like he hit the sweet spot between the NC2, bulldog and viper.
Yeah I agree, I think the Super 7 does hit that sweet spot. I would pay the little extra to get a Super 7 over the Bulldogs at this point. My Viper cars are my favorite, I love how much I can mod them if I want though they do get pricey but you get what you pay for with Viper.
It's not one you can buy, it's a custom layout. I started with the Super International and 4-Way Slit sets, those sets gave me all the turns I needed and I added some extra 15 inch straights.

I wanted to ask you what material are you using for the green table top. Recently moved into new house and I am deciding what to do with my tabletop reassembly..thanks..
It's a grass mat I got from woodlandscenics.com though if I had to do over again I might use something else, when the cars get on it the fibers stick to your tires like crazy. I do like how it looks though.

I am a fan of Magnatraction as well but these cars do require driving, they may not seem like it but they will fly right off the track if you don't drive them.
@@marksslotcargarage We have the G+ cars too, only a few as they are not nearly as fun to race, magnatraction its easier to get to the limit before you deslot.
I agree with you that Magnatraction cars will de-slot faster as they have less down force but it depends what you think is fun, I prefer the speed...lol. I love the Magnatraction as it was what I raced as a kid, I still have some of my cars from the 70s but I am a speed junky. I set up most of my Magnatraction with mean green 6 ohm arms and Pro 7 motor magnets...lol
@@marksslotcargarage late 70s is when I started stepping up the voltage, from 12 to 14 to 18 and I now settled on 25v with a NOS button the the controller to 40v (this was early 90s), I have been out of it for awhile, it seems now I see quite a few running 20v, about what year did that happen?
@@Ozzy3333333 Not sure of the but the AFX wall plug has been 20 plus volts for many years. I run a 10 amp 30 volt variable supply at 18.5 v. My club follows HOPRA rules and 18-18.5 is our max allowed.

Thanks JJ, the Super 7 is a great chassis but for a little more money you can get a Viper VSPEC chassis which is my preferred chassis.

I have a set of six S7 SC's under Auto World Import Heat bodies (Supra, Skyline, Eclipse, RX-7). They look fantastic, and of course, run great.

Most likely the Bulldogs from BRS are coming directly from the UK. My guess is that they are not track tested.
Very possible, definitely not tuned like the ones I got from Terry at HCslots, the Bulldogs I got from him a while back ran great.

the problem with the BD with the Neodymium mags is that the traction mags are too far off the track.
Yeah I noticed that, I solved that by using a rear axle from Viper with much lower profile tires, gets the magnets down closer to the rails. Thanks

how did u get the sound setup
The sound is part of the Race Coordinator timing system software. The timing system is from Viasue.

Which ones? You mean the O ring tires? They come in different sizes and help lower the front end. They are used by Viper as well on all of their cars.
