      My Ghost Cat build did not turn out so great. No special tools really but getting the hood system to run well was tough. If you look on CZcams Roger from RPM did several build videos which is what I followed. A small tweezer was all I really needed.

  • @ray0311
    @ray0311 Před 2 dny

    Sometimes I track test for results, sometimes the Dyno doesn’t tell the story, For example Steven built me a bsrt super Stock, was very lack luster on the Dyno, made like 220, but that thing was quick, I was confused, I built a car that’s a Dyno queen 5.9 ohm, got in the mid 400’s but ain’t as fast as the bsrt 🤷🏾‍♂️ I can’t figure it out Mark, so I track test when I’m disappointed in Dyno numbers, that’s just my experience

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage Před 2 dny

      That is odd, 220 is a fairly low number compared to a car in the 400's but I know what you mean, I have cars they are not Dyno killers that are very fast on the track. In general though for me if the car has very strong numbers on the Dyno it usually runs well on the track at least speed wise, handling is a whole other story, you need track time to get the handling down.

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage Před 3 dny

      No because I use a Teflon spacer first so the arm does not short out. I use the metal spacer on top of the Teflon spacer which is up against the bushing in the endbell. Don't run just a metal spacer against the arm.

    I'm a complete beginner to wiring and such....not to mention slots. I actually, just bought one of the 2'x4' tracks already railed and wired on the track. I also purchased the Longwei power supply and a couple of Control Centers. I was expecting no connections, just plain wires. It has different connections for different wires. Being unfamiliar with wiring, and not receiving any kind of simple instructions, it kind of confused me a little. I think I'm better off cutting the connections where needed, and just adding eye socket connections. Also, it looks like you cut the connections of your power supply and crimped/soldered eye hole sockets to it. I know I'm vague, and you may not be responding to such an old video, but any tips are recommended. Thanks! Happy Racing!

There are a number of diagrams out there on how to wire the track. If you want to chat further shoot me an email at marksslotcargarage@gmail.com, I will answer any questions you have and help any way I can. Thanks.

Also used the slightly thinner (.0025 “as I recall ) TYCO axles for a bit of body rock for better handling . Never had problems with the gear spacing moving around . Technically the axle could only move .00125.” Helium filled hollow axles ? Makes em lighter . Ha ! Used to use the straight flat shoes ( skis we called em ) instead of bent 0:26 bumped up stock . More surface area to the rails . Also used 2 ….12volt car batteries ( deep cycle in series ) for 24 volts ,Parma 45 ohm controllers

    Mark, James here (Slotcarjames). Finally completed my Viper Kenmoore 4x12 track (The Viper-Dome) besides lexan turn boarders. I’ll be posing a CZcams video soon. Everything came out great. I designed many 3D parts for the track that many will find interesting. I’ll be posting the 3D files free for everyone to us on thingiverse soon to. Some of the 3D parts I designed are the controller holders, gantry, spacers for the viper rail install tool, drivers panels to name few. 😊
