That pump is really slick! Very cool. It actually seems perfectly designed and I love that it plugs in with a standard outboard motor fuel line. Really smart idea. Your video actually demonstrating the pump working in a container, was perfect!

I just clicked the link and was expecting to see this pump for maybe $50. And wow, over $100. But like you said it comes with the fuel hose and all of the adapters so that is some of the cost. And it’s first to market and unique, so it’s worth it right now.

I was going to say they have kits that are nothing more than a hose connected to the cap that are cheap but those are over $100 now. Anyone with some skill could build one for a couple $

Not talking about Honda. Honda has had plenty of kits for years. Talking about other models with no onboard pump needing gravity feed
Somebody needs to print a threaded adapter for the EU 2000 and a bayonet type adapter for the EU 3000 which has no suction capability. Auxiliary tanks for the EU 3000 have always been a problem and this would solve it. There must be millions of EU 3000s out there and people would go crazy for this.
WOW, this is so new it's not even on the Genmax site yet. Was hoping to find out if it would fit my Generac 2600 inverter/generator.

This is by far the most cost effectrive option. There's another company that sells kits for $275. Way, way over priced. You get a $15 bulb primer hose (the most expensive part of their kit). A pulse style fuel pump found on most garden tractors. The rest is a few feet of fuel hose, fuel tank adapters, clamps, tywraps, a couple of screws and thread tape. Total cost of parts individually sourced maybe cost $50. All that for $275.

I'm a little disappointed in the price that's a little bit higher than I was expecting but not by a whole bunch and the price is really pretty good if it includes the fuel hose and the several different connectors that's pretty good
Also I was kind of expecting it to just be AC powered

Be sure to top up the engine oil before using this. Having that extra fuel available may run the engine long enough for the oil level, rather than fuel, to become the limiting factor! This is more of a concern with older engines, that have hundreds of hours of run time on them. Most newer generators have a low oil cutoff sensor, but, it's not safe to rely on them to protect engines from low oil. Older engines may not even have a low oil sensor, so be extra careful with those models.

I think I'd go with the Scepter 08668 Rectangular 12 Gallon Marine Fuel Tank for about $20 more to use in extended power outage situations. If you feel it would be too heavy, you could limit how much you fill it with for typical use, but have the option to fill it way up for ice storms and stuff. I would probably just leave it in the back of my pickup and strap it in place. Then if I need to use it full and don't want to lug it around, I could just back the truck up to the generator location. You should add an affiliate link for that tank to your description because I haven't bought it yet. ;)

My Bergs extended fuel tank works great without a pump on my Honda. However, I usually use propane.
Exactly why I said you don’t need this pump for Honda as they have there own on board pump.
Odd that it doesn’t have a 12v wall wart option to power the pump. Then you would just plug it into one of the 110v sockets on the generator.

I've been really impressed spec wise w/ the Genmax units. I almost bought one of their units a few times over the last week. Amazon had GM3500iAED w/ a $180 off coupon/special deal. Now it's $100 off and that is a heck of a lot of generator for the price. The only thing that stopped me is I sorta remember in one of your reviews if the 12v battery is dead you can't start the unit but they were going to change that and I wasn't sure if the change occurred. Then again I could be remembering completely wrong.

IIRC thats specifically an issue with the one EFI model they sell. Any unit with a carb should just pull start and won't even have a battery if its a model without electric start.
Right now the "Genmax Fuel pump" from Ordering to Arrival is about a Month! So, hope you aren't in a hurry for the solution!

Do you know if this would fit the westinghouse i2600 - it does look almost identical in shape to the ones you were showing where the gas cap is center and up front.
I dont know on that one. I did provide the specs so maybe measure and see. But if it looks the same then probably fits.

Is there a reason this wouldn't work with a diesel generator? Are these hoses and fittings not suitable for diesel?
Im so confused what jenny i need for my camper . Iv solar on roof but iv been told to get a jenny if your camping off grid . I was going to use our starlink dish sometimes so i presume that needs decent power to it . Would a 2000watt jenny be good enough? Thank you

See lots of variables you have to calculate to find what you want and need
If you're going to have an A/C, you're going to need a lot more power than 2000 watts. Even a refrigerator can pull quite a bit. Depending on the size of that AC, you may need 5KW or more. You may also need a soft start capacitor for that AC, so it reduces the load as it starts. Also, recommend getting an "inverter" generator because they are quieter, more fuel efficient, and produce clean power.
Do you know if it will fit a predator 3500? Its the inverter style generator.

Any idea if this will work on a generator with a vented gas cap, ie the Igen2200? My pump came in today. It fits and threads perfect to the Igen2200. But the original cap is vented. Will it work longterm?
The extra tank is vented so I would assume this should help but since pump stops automatically way below the fill line if there is a problem maybe just crack open the pump a little. Screw it on and then just ever so slightly back it off to pressure can escape and also it doesn’t vacuum lock.
I haven’t had enough time to try that yet.
Plus I didn’t know about the igen and if it would work on that unit

I dont know if the threads will work as most tanks have a smaller diameter filler neck

I’m confused. The official genmax video implies that it is self priming, but the inclusion of the priming bulb implies that it is not. Can you verify that it is not self priming? Keep up the great hands on videos!
It says self priming in the instructions but also says to help fill faster and prolong pump life preprime the bulb first. Or close to that. I dont have the instructions with me.
What about the Pulsar 2200. Will the pump work on those as well???

Well I bought one and it will not pump. Have a request to genmax for troubleshooting ideas or replacement. I feel the pump is vibrating, but it only spits a little fuel and then stops even tho it is still running.
Are you using the supplied fuel line?
Is the vent open on the external tank?
Obviously enough fuel in tank?
It’s possible it’s a dud. Plenty of stuff can be DOA…
Check those and if not get a replacement

@MrBillpam91 still no work huh. Well possibly a bad pump then. Which can happen. Things are so simple if you get to keep it see if you can take apart and fix for a spare. Unless you have to ship back.

How long of a fuel line can you use with this pump?
Well they will say no longer than provided, and no larger than a 6.3 gallon tank. But you could get a longer if you want but farther it has to pump is more load on the pump meaning it may burn out quicker

I have only put about 22 hours on it so far and have not put more than a 1400 watt load on it but it handled that fine on propane. I do wish it had a 12 volt outlet on it though. Mainly bought it to use during power outages. @@shanew7361

Yeah, I checked out the dimensions with vernier calipers and it is close but would probably strip out the tank threads if cap was twisted tight.@@johnnysweekends

It looks like you can just measure the threads on your generator gas cap and determine this.

This have metal fuel cells and the threads are inside verses out. So no on the Igen but I think the firman also is the same inside threads, so no.

How is this better than the vacuum systems?
Vacuum works with the Honda because it has a fuel pump, gravity has to be placed above the gen, that’s not always practical for some.
Not needed. Just need a cap with a fuel line fitting, the hose, and a tank.
Ran a camp in Canada for 4 years on that setup.
Gravity feed still work but for those that need a different option this works as well

I simply removed the vent that was in the factory, cap, converted it over to a hose barb by drilling out the vent and tapping it, then using a marine 6 gallon gas tank. I already had on hand.
I would top off the 1 gallon gas tank in the generator itself and install the cap and hook the marine hose up to 6 gallon gas tank and lay it next to it
Start the generator and it would run for days
@chrisanderson4799 yea the Honda is different. It has a built in fuel pump where the others don’t. So you can buy many kits or diy the Honda really easy for extended run fuel tanks. Verses the others must be gravity feed or they will not work as there is nothing to draw the fuel.
