Very well done. Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial...
To avoid overfill, I thought you have to remove the jack to level the car, then open the other drain plug to allow excess oil to drain out.
That sounds about right
Just measure the amount that comes out and pore that amount back in with the new fluid.
There's a safety issue using only a jack without any means of supporting the weight of the like a jack stand. Obviously, you've never seen a hydraulic jack fail!
Second, properly install the filter before spraying in type of cleaner. Otherwise, liked the video.
Literally both of these made me tense up. Good guy, but needs to be careful.
Nice info
Don’t forget to change the rubber seals on filter housing
I changed them on my buddya 2019 Civic. Gonna do his sisters 2019 Accord sport this week. Those are good to change because they avoid the coolant to mix with the oil 😅. Just 20$ ish more. Great cars. I don't enjoy the Honda scene too much these days. But they're still good reliable cars. I'm more of a 90's or before type of dude.
What is the difference in putting the fluid in the ATF location and the Transmission opening.
Thank you for the video. I was looking for info on this I’ve done my fluid change but I spoke with Honda directly they said the filter never had to be changed out. Wondering if I should change it or take their word for it. My car has 15,000 miles over the fluid change I did . It’s sitting at a little under 75,000 for a 2015 model
It depends on you. If you change transmission fluid more often, you don't have to worry about the transmission filter because I've changed the filter at170k and I changed transmission fluid every 30k or 40k depending on if I was busy or not.
@@wefixit5906 the old filter does not look dirty at all. I don't think it had to be replaced.
What about the main filter underneath the the transmission pan according to the Parts catalog and the pan needs to be cleaned and also the magnets in the pan requires cleaning and the pan gasket needs to be replaced after cleaning the pan and replacing the main filter
I asked the dealer. They said only one filter outside not inside. However, I might get it wrong, you should check more videos or asking more people who doing this oil filter transmission changed.
This a CVT trans filter out side only
Hi, I have a 2014 Honda accord lx. My speed meter keep go up and down while driving, I have changed the speed sensor and transmission oil, but it is still happen.
Do you think that I need to change the transmission oil filter to fix the problem?
My car has 70000 miles
Thank you
I think your car still low mileage and this problem happened to your car. I would put scan tools to scan all the detail what going on and I don’t think you have to change transmission oil filter. Something else make the problems.
If your going to change the transmission filter, you mine as well change the engine filter and cabin filter while your at it if you haven't already. Air flow is important (cabin filter just so you breathe better lol).
One, you don't jack up the vehicle on one side. It must be on a level surface. Two, the accurate way to ensure that you don't over fill is to use the check bolt. When you get to the 4th quart you keep an eye on it. When you see fluid, stop. You can only drain 3.7 qts. Any given time. Third, that filter for the transmission cooler is not considered a serviceable part and therefore is not necessary to change. Maybe if the vehicle has 200+ thousand miles you may consider it. The problem with fooling with it is getting the mating surface torqued evenly. Fifth, you don't provide the torque specs for the drain bolt or check bolt. They are 34ft pounds. The video is just enough to show where the drain bolt is. You should let people know about all the details if you are going to do it. I just enjoy watching people on here, but you should always do your best to give as much information as you can. The devil is in the details. Thanks for all the effort making the video for people.
I appreciated your concern. Look I am not a mechanic, but the video just showed regular people who don't know how to fix their cars. my experiences to change transmission fluid it has never had going wrong. If I was so wrong in doing that, my car won't stay 180 thousand miles. addition, I got what you mean with the toque and the fluid to put it in there.
@@wefixit5906 my point was that just because nothing has gone wrong for you, doesn't mean someone with lesser knowledge won't mess up by not having all the information necessary to do the job. It's not about you, it's about the people who are watching.
@@FastEddy5 correct, I just learned this today from others about the check bolt vs drain bolt
What was the part number for the filter and where did you find it.
I bought it from dealer which is a little expensive but the quality is better that outside. I think in the video show you the number of the part.
Does the 2020 accord have a filter under the battery too?
I'm not sure about that too. it is because it's 10th Gen.
yes the trans is the same
Which Year is the car ? I don't know 9th generation apply to which year of the Honda.
I think it's from 2013 -2017 for Honda Accord
This is for CVT transmission version NOT ATF version !
ATF , inline filter that is external locate under Fuse box .
Yes, it Is. It’s because 4 cylinder and automatic.
Links to buy the filter and rings?
I bought it from Honda dealer.
What year range are the 9th gen accords?
it's from 2013 to 2017 honda accord
@@wefixit5906 thanks!!
Anyone else's bass hit hard when the music came on? 😂
My filter was literally black previous owner never changed the fluid either so that was also black and burnt
I'm glad that you are taking care of your car.
Are you not supposed to have no tyranny fluid in before you change the filter ?
You must remove the tranny pan to put the filter in. So no, there is no fluid in the tranny at the time you put the filter in. Fill it with fluid after the pan is installed.
I was wondering about that too. Looks like he added new transmission fluid, then changed the filter. Strange.
Oh crap, I didn't know there is a transmission oil filter hidden in there.
It’s underneath battery tray
There is a filter inside oil pan of this transmission , which is need to change. Honda Part No.: 25420-5C4-004
Did you change yours? is your honda cvt?
With cvt transmission ? A don’t think so. Maybe i’m wrong
Shouldn't uou change the filter before you add the fluid?
That didn't look right to me either
I watched the video to the end to see how much oil did it take !!!
I always put 3 quarts something but if you don’t know the correct level you can put 3 1/2 quarts and remove 12 mm bolt on the bottom near drain bolt.
Couldnt younhave changed the filter from under the car much faster
it could, but i dont have lift.
Don't you pull the fill plug to help the oil drain
Your video has skipped or is missing information that is vital when changing the filter . Please show all steps or show nothing at all .
