Great video! Would love it if you covered gears - how to find problematic spots, how to avoid them, how to fix them... Also maybe some tips on how to deal with blind spots of the maps? (jumps/corners) Also pls pls pls tutorial on how to do custom respawns
I agree as well! I’ve thought about trying to make a track but the block system seems annoying to deal with… maybe it’s easier than I made it seem. A series on map making would be great, maybe with a start to finish concept for a small track and tips well you go!
Great video! Just began playing TM, I imagine I’d need more experience to learn technique and mechanics before I start making maps but this video was helpful!
2:17 my maps never have this feeling of depth to them just looking at this little part of the map I know that none of my maps have this and whenever I circle back my tracks it feels like something is either in the way or 2D
Good vid! As options for new vid I would like to see some guidance on for example the following topics. Gears, transitions of surfaces/transitional jumps, avoiding blind corners/visual lines These are just some things coming to my mind. keep it up!
My biggest problem with mapping is that I’m not a skilled enough player to tune my map to flow well at the speed a good driver will attain. Ran into some problems with that in the past, where a map that I thought flowed really well was actually awful if the person driving was good at the game.
I'm aware that I'm a bit late but this video was very good. If there's another one of these i would maybe mention a few of these things: Blind scenery, repeating the same turns multiple times in the map (altho that one is Abit more advanced), having big airtime, how to slow down (avoid fw etc.) There's probably even more simple things ppl should look out for, but these r the ones i can think of rn. In general good stuff, looking forward to more EDIT: ofc gears. But to me that is pretty advanced already. For gears to be a problem u need a somewhat flowy route already (at least that's how I feel about it, still learning about gears tho xdd) Also, i would link wp server maybe, good server for feedback aswell
“It is common to change an earlier section to make a later section work better.” If you want to get a first-hand demonstration of just how important that principle is, build a pf map.
Great video! i case you want to put even more reviewers in the description feel free to add my twitch there too, im always happy to test on stream even tho im not steeaming as regularly as others :)
Not sure what you’re talking about but I have bad news. Console disables like half of the features in the editor, like ghost or free block modes and (I think) it also disables the camera triggers. Sorry!

Sorry to advertise my channel here, but I made a video on custom respawns: czcams.com/video/AYI43Be4y4g/video.html
This is great! A series of videos introducing mapmaking to new players would be a giant gift to the community.
Agreed

Very good video. You can see there has been a lot of work put into the skript. Also very soothing voice :')
remember to put a camera reset at the start. nothing worse than restarting and being stuck in in-car view after crashing in a loop.

Cool video, would be interested in more beginner mapping vids

Plus drying water wheels with dirt could be an added point

Btw to make chapters in the video in description before other timestamps add "00:00 Intro" or something like that, it needs 00:00 :D
Thank you!
"flickering" is actually called z-fighting btw
I am aware of that term, however in Trackmania it is more commonly referred to as flickering which is why I called it that in this video :)
@@sparklingw7904 oh really i didnt know that lol
We should kooperate, I build a sick PF and you build some big scenery around it. What do you think? Hit me up

wow those subtitles HAHAHAHAHA
How do you make arrow signs on PS4?
Common mistake I see are way too long (regular) maps. And to some smaller extend, bad checkpoint placement.
