The "Ronin" car chase scene would never made me bored.😍
Not gonna lie, the "TAXI" film and "Who Am I" are the best on the list. Definitely gave me a whole new perspective on Peugeots, and Lancer Evos (also I just noticed that in every Jackie Chan movie, there's always Mitsubishi cars)

Fully agreed for Ronin. I think it is the best of all times. I went to watch it 20 years ago because there is a Citroen XM chase and didn't expect the car chase to be so intense
Pure 90s car chases, I love the 90s and car chase are part of my excitement.
If, before I saw The Rock, you had asked me what cars to feature in a car chase scene, I would have nominated a Mustang vs. a Camaro or a Corvette vs. a 911. But now I really don't think anyone will ever top a black Humvee vs a yellow Ferrari - two very different ways of getting the job done!

As a bonus to the great chase scene, Ronin is actually a really good movie.

Ever since I saw ronin in the movie theatre I have been recommending the ronin scene as one of the most accelerating chases ever. Glad to see I havent been wrong.

hey the chase from the movie Taxi 2 (the sequel to the 8º position) envolves two EVO's, a lot of police cars crashed to a big pile, the Peugeot 406 making a parachute entry in Paris, and TANKS..... far better than the one you used here
I hope the Bourne Identity chase is in the next one!

You are SO correct about Ronin. That is by far one of the best chase movies ever circa 1990. It’s too bad you could not include anything from the late 1980s because the Blues Brothers are by far my most favorite car chase scene ever in history. Smokey and the Bandit had quite a few also. Maybe do a review on those.
Bad Boys finale, Porsche Turbo chasing a Shelby Cobra should at least get an honorable mention here.

Jackie Chan was a huge Mitsubishi fan and did an exceptional job with car stunts in his old films.

100% agree with number 1. Saw Ronin in theaters and was blown away by all the driving in that movie.
I personally loved the tank chase from GoldenEye. I know Bond films have many chase scenes but driving a tank through the streets of Moscow or wherever they were was brilliant and it ended with Bond blowing up the Train with said tank. Loved that so much.

Nice videos. Plymouth Caravelle was a 4-cylinder sedan based on the K-car platform. Plymouth Gran Fury's, like the one seen here, were ubiquitous police cars from the late '70s through the '80s.

Nice list, my only problem is that "the other guy" from the Days of Thunder is also a remarkable actor, Michael Rooker, from Cliffhanger, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead. I am sure you also know it, but he also deserves the respect. :)

Really liked the car scene from "the hidden" where the 308 gets written off... not a very long scene but for the first scene in a movie where the guy had just robbed a bank, then fleeing while pumping heavy metal was just so satisfying.

The 355 from the rock was built by an OG movie replica builder Dick Kvetnansky who later created the "K1 Attack" kit car which also had some cameos in action movies

Totally agree with number one. It would have been great if you had mentioned and included the raw and violent engine sounds, which really made the Ronin chase epic, imo.
Plus , the driving all around in Ronin is efficiency focused and not "show business" focused like in (almost all) other movies. For this alone , Ronin deserved a special prize. But hey, the designers of the stunts and drivers were all French and some of them ex-F1 drivers...Naturally , they focused on driving fast then showing off. . "Show business" driving such as too much drift , over oversteer and so is actually way slower.
I think Point Break. The chase scene between the Caprice and Lincoln Town Car was well coordinated, involved speed and precision, the burning of said Town Car, the other 3 Ex-Presidents getting into a 1969 Chevelle, then an epic get-away of the other 3 in said Chevelle, and Bodhi and Utah going onto continue after each other in a full-on, intense, and over-the-top foot chase.
Yes Ronin deserves the #1 spot. When you were describing The Rock I was like you left out that it is a Michael Bay film. Then I seen how every single car was exploding and flying through the air and I was like oh I’m sure everyone can figure that out. The chase for Jade started out good, although I could do without watching that woman get ran over twice, but I hated that it came to a complete standstill when they tried to go through that parade. Even when it tried to restart it just lost its edge for me. And Short Time deserves much higher on the list.
Already lots of Bond entries but I liked the one in Golden Eye. Russian tank pursuing that tiny car in the streets of St. Petersburg.
That scene alone I think makes it one of the best of the bond films.

Great! I always loved 60s and 70s for car chases, but 90s had some awesome pre-cgi car chases thatn involved lots of stunts

Judgement day didn't have a sawed off. But I agree with the Ronin choice. It was one of the most expensive car chases to date. And it was definitely the longest. It's immortal.
In my humble opinion the chase in Ronin is the best ever!
I came here just to see if Ronin was on the list. Glad it topped it. There were several classic car chase scenes in this excellent movie. I think it was the first movie having a car chase racing down a busy one-way street/highway against the flow, dodging and zigging and zagging. On a big screen with good audio it's really terrific, completely gripping. And the car chases weren't even the best part of the movie. It's a classic thriller with major armed hit scenes. Great flick.

Thunderbolt had too many moments were they speed up the film for my tastes.
In the RONIN final chase scene, there is a shot or two where you can clearly see the film crew tucked away in alcoves in the tunnel. That takes away nothing from the badassery of that film.

I love how in #9 the silver ford was going straight into the telephone pole and some how is able to straighten it out, ik for a fact that car ate shit into the pole before they switched back to the main character

Ravelord Nito they make the exact same horsepower power too but even now the LT5 is most sophisticated engine ever put in a corvette which to me makes it special I also prefer the look of the C4 to the C5 but that's just my opinion
