  • In today's video I will demonstrate the wonderful Kuhn-Organ, with 3 Manuals and 57 stops (2009) of the 'Jesuitenkirche' in Heidelberg. This organ is one of my favourite instruments so far and shines with it's wonderful voicing as well as the various tonal colours, it's massive sound and the modern design. I hope you will enjoy this video, let me know in the comments what you think!

To A FULLY Trained Musician With A Precise Ear As Most All Organist Have Can Clearly Hear Each Change In Pitch In The Stops Being Added But To The Untrained Ear Unfortunately It Probably All Sounds The Same. I THANK GOD FOR Having A EAR For This Music! AWESOME As USUAL Your Videos & Playing Is. Beautiful Crisp Sou8nding Organ.

This organ demonstration is extraordinarily well done in every respect. Your choices of hymn tunes and masterful improvisation really helped to showcase this magnificent instrument. Videography is superb. The subtitles of the stops used at that moment is very helpful and really adds to the demonstration. Thank you, Paul, for showing us the church and the beautiful town of Heidelberg as well. Bravo!

This instrument absolutely has the most fun and unique colours I’ve heard on any new organ in a while. That Viola Da Gamba 8’ though… I need one of those in my town’s churches… Maximum level of gorgeous!

    • @PaulFey
      @PaulFey  Před 2 lety +3

@@PaulFey It’s almost like the big beefy strings of the Great manual of Billerbeck, they almost sound like high-pressure ranks. So rarely are string-scale pipes seen under higher winds! 🌬

I enjoyed hearing the broad spectrum of this demonstration. The acoustics inside are breathtaking as is the brightness inside this church. What an outstanding venue. Could not help but to do more research and found The Bachchor Heidelberg Choir. Wow! What true pure perfection in the acoustics. Every voice, every instrument can be heard throughout the interior. What an experience it must be to actually be any part of this institution.
I have not heard any recordings anywhere on earth to date that are so wonderful. After singing, playing here where else is there to go? Truly unforgettable. The pipes are beautiful. There is no way to critique anything. I do not know if I will ever find any other venue and voices better than what I have heard and seen here at Jesuitenkirche Heidelberg so well captured on the Internet. The only way to do so is being present, on location to appreciate the experience.
It has renewed my interest in digging deeper on other places of worship in this region of the world. Looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and finding for more treasures for my senses to take in.
Does this instrument have multiple consoles such as the van den Heuvel organ at the Church of St. Eustache in Paris? I do not know how common multiple consoles are. More research for me moving forward.
Your work has truly inspired me to the core and this ole dawg is learning new tricks, certainly when it comes to the organ. I have my work cut out for me. Thanks Paul for reaching into to me and opening my eyes and ears for years to come.

Paul, you must have been thrilled to be able to play on such an instrument, and to demonstrate the full range of sounds available through improvisations of various hymns. Do you know if there are available recordings of this organ? If not, I certainly think you should consider making some. The organ of the Jesuit Church in Heidelberg is magnificent. I wonder: how many miles would a young Bach walk to play upon this instrument? And who is this boisterous young man in the organ loft today, playing tutti? Kompliment!
    And oh that celeste...

Hello from Lagos Nigeria. Well done Paul.
Paul I want to share a presentation with you. A Nigerian organist had his 50th birthday and an organ recital was organized for him by his proteges. Can I share it here?

In Nigeria they played also Organs like This? I thought, they allways plays Hammond Organs with Bands at the Service. The was to play Gospel Organ is much different to this.

@@klaus7174 Yes, we play organs in Nigeria. There are cathedrals in Nigeria with electric organs and pipe organs and we have organists also.
The Hammond organs, keyboards and bands also exist in most modern churches.
