'Trumpet Fanfares' on one of the most fun Pipe Organs in the World - Paul Fey
Some months ago I've had the opportunity to play the amazing pipe organ at Münsterschwarzach Abbey in Schwarzach, Germany. The large abbey church houses a pipe organ organ from 1937 which features 60 stops, including amazing Reed voices and beautiful flutes. The acoustics of the church are fantastic which makes this instrument an absolute joy to play!
I hope you'll enjoy this recording of the 'Prelude in C Major' or 'Festal March' by Scotson Clark - which fits this organ and the season perfectly! It is played by Paul Fey, recorded on the pipe organ at Münsterschwarzach Abbey in Germany.

    Für mich zu dicht und zu schnell gespielt, bei so einer Akustik. Viele Interpreten neigen dazu wunderschöne Kompositionen runterrasseln zu müssen und das ergibt meistens für den Hörer nur ein Klangbrei. Sorry.

    Die Amis bauen halt geile Orgeln👍😁, selbst in verhältnismäßig kleinen Kirchen hast du 3 manualige Kisten mit 32'Fuss - Registern... Da sollte sich manch deutsche Gemeinde mit ihren 15 Register - Sparorgeln mal ein Beispiel nehmen 🙄

      Die Orgel, Hook & Hastings Opus 1833, hatte ursprünglich 18 Register und nur eine 8'-Oboe. Vor dem Umbau und der Erweiterung im Jahr 2015 war sie 10 Jahre lang unspielbar. Das Seminar wollte, dass die umgebaute Orgel für Konzerte genutzt werden kann. Jetzt ist sie es auf jeden Fall!

    Damn!!! That organ has gotten some MAJOR augmentation since I played it as a seminarian in the late 1980's!!!!!! It sure didn't have trumpets and a Bombarde!!!!

    That 32 foot bombarde especially in the Bass line in the chorus. I would have stood apart from the symbolism of King George standing. Brilliant Paul.
