10:30 Thoughts & Musings - Jak na to + styl
“All the corners fit nice with no gaps.” That must be nice, can’t say I’ve ever had that happen
That's a good looking shirt in the beginning of the video! Always happy to see support for the Public Lands!
It's one of my favorites! Wish I had a few more. And I wish more people recognized it!
Nice job! Very good video!
That mag switch stop block idea is awesome.
I love that little tool! There a link to it in the description and if you use the code gunflintdesigns, you get 10% off and it helps me out!
I suspect your version of "winging it" is ten-fold accurate/better than my version of "detailed measurement" haha... Awesome project.
That's where practice gets you!
Lol, it's taken me years but I'm finally getting pretty good at this.
Very nice!
That turned out super sharp and looks fantastic especially for not having a plan. Great work!
Thanks Drew!
I've been trying to find a design for a nightstand that I like. I kept thinking about the traditional shelf on the bottom and drawer on the top, but I like the functionality of the two flat surfaces high and the drawers below. Now that's "finger lickin' good" ;)
Haha, thanks Jason! Glad you stayed until the end! 😉
I hope this gave you ideas for your design.
Great looking Nightstand! I'm a big fan of Walnut!
Thanks! Hard not to love good ol' walnut.
That came out great for just winging it.
Thanks 👍 Now that I know what I'm doing, the next one will be even better!
I got rid of a traditional alarm clock years ago and have used my phone. I can change the tone for when I get too used to it and have that dream of a sound I can't get rid of, can set a much more advanced schedule for when necessary, and it will work without needing an extra 9v installed in case the power goes out. I'd say I wouldn't need to adjust it either, but the last traditional alarm clock I had, would set the time itself when you plugged it in.
That dream lol
Good
Thanks
Looks great! Love the projects where you just grab some material and dive in! I love visiting the Rockler store in Burnsville. I picked up my SawStop there among other tools and supplies. I try to get up there once a month just to browse and restock. It's like my grown-up toy store!
That's the Rockler store closest to me too now. I haven't made it up there since I moved yet through. The world fell apart as soon as I got here!
ha ha...all of the good slogans are taken! That's a handsome bedside table!
Thank's Bruce! Glad you hung in for the gag at the end!
@@GunflintDesigns He isn't contractually obligated to do so? Your contract for WBAT must just be a gentlemen's handshake. ;)
Nice. I like the dual shelf.
Thanks, me too!
You do a really great job. And I love Walnut. Matter of fact, Walnut, and Osage Orange are my favorite woods to work.
I’ve never worked with Osage orange. That’s pretty exotic for my neck of the woods. My favorites to work with are walnut and cherry.
Looks great Mark. I really like your logical method of approaching joints and glue ups. Makes it all seem effortless
Thanks 👍 I'm glad you like it. My brain is like a duck on the water. I might make it look effortless, but under the surface I have bright orange webbed feet... I'm not sure I understand that expression.
That looks awesome! Love the design. Can’t wait to see the whole bedroom set.
Me too! For now I'll just daydream about it.
Nice nightstand it looks really good. Well done
Thank you! 😊
I too am positioned nowhere near an outlet, and I am constantly tripping over extension cords... I like the electrical in the nightstand... I may just try that one day!
I hope you do!
I just recently got into woodworking and found a rockler in Michigan but its far from my house but! Close to my work lol needless to say my lunches have been spent there a few times. Love the way walnut looks and I might have to try out this project some day
Very cool! If you build one of these I want to see a picture!
I have the same issue with the only outlet on wife's side of the bed. I was going to build a outlet into our Ikea bedframe to solve the issue.
That's a classy lookin' nightstand. I gotta check into those mag switch stop blocks. They look super handy.
They are outstanding! Use gunflintdesigns when you buy one to get 10% off!
"Just hold your horses" lol. Great video! I have considered the undermount slides I just haven't pulled the trigger on them yet.
I'll admit, they require a lot more thinking and planning than the regular slides, but the payoff is worth it.
Nice build and great book.
Yeah man, love that one! I was wondering if anyone would know it besides me.
Love the design and the joinery. Looks sweet
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you like it.
Very nice work. I should be able to adapt your design to make a pair of end tables for either side of my living room sofa.
That's awesome! I'm planning to make long, tall table for the back side of my sofa with drawers in the skinny ends. It will follow this same style.
Great precise work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man!
Man I love your work! Glad I found your channel!!
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching.
Looks very good. Love the power option too.
Very nice, I would add a chamfer on the drawer fronts just for aesthetics sake.
That crossed my mind, but I planed them to 1/2 inch this to get rid of some bulk and every other corner on the piece is square, so I kept with that theme.
Beautiful work, dude! It looks fantastic!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! You too!
how many wood did u use and what were the measurements ?
Looks great! Extra charging and power is always a bonus. PS, you may want to seek a sock sponsor ;)
Thanks Tharemy! I think you're right about the sponsor, I'm thinking some kind of merino wool.
My wife loves this design! I know you were winging it but I really wish you had some plans available haha!
Plans are on my short list for this year. Now that I have my bed frame done, I need to revisit this project, make the changes I need and build two more. So plans will be coming when that happens.
This looks fantastic
Nice work
Nice job. Looks cool. I see a matching headboard coming soon 🤣
Yep, that's the plan!
Nice job. Looks great. Very timely as I just got the go ahead from my wife to do a similar build.
Thats great! Hopefully I gave you an idea or two.
Great stuff bud
Aw shucks, thanks man!
Nice. Finally someone w/o stupid crap pocket screws or overpriced domino!!!!!!!!
Whatever it takes to get the job done.
Awesome work!
Well thank you Matthew!
Heard about this build on the podcast, then saw this in my feed today. Sucks about the drawer slide gaff. Like you said, next time.
Subbed
Thanks for joining the channel, glad to have you aboard!
wonderful
Glad you think so!
Now you just need an Unnecessary Walnut™️ headboard 🤣
Oh don’t you worry, that will be coming.
@@GunflintDesigns already subbed and looking forward to it!
That looks superb. I’ve had plans all drawn up on paper; haven’t gotten the hang of sketch up or other CAD programs yet haha; for a night stand for probably a year and a half but have yet to get started on it lol. Very nice looking piece though. .
Funny how you can get so close, but somehow actually starting is the hardest part!
Hi there! Wondering if you have plans available for this? I didn't seem them on your site. Thanks!
could u give measurements? thinking of doing this for a school project!
I like the design but I think the toekick is missing. Easy to add and makes the base a little more functional. Maybe for 2.0
I’m not sure I’ve seen a nightstand with a toe kick.
I'm not sure I follow what your'e saying. And maybe I don't know what a toe kick is... how would that make it more functional?
Is there a specific name for the style of the table top and how you connected the surface piece to the tops of the legs? Looking to research more about this style. Great work also!
I like the design. Trying to scale it. So the bottom open shelf is about the height of the bed (to hold/see alarm clock) and the top is about 6-8" higher for knick knack stuff?
Are you happy with that or would you change it in future builds?
So far I'm happy with it. I currently don't have a box spring under my bed, so it is ultra low. My goal is to have the top be about level with the surface of the bed when it's at the correct height.
Great looking night stand. You think the Blum undermount are better than the soft close Centerline?
I think they do different things. The Centerline ones are easier to install and hold more weight. These undermount one are basically invisible, and allow for a slightly wider drawer in the same space. They are quite a bit more complicated to design your drawer for, but once you figure it out, its easy.
@@GunflintDesigns Gotcha. I think for now I will stick with centerline but sometime I'll have to try Blum. Enjoyed the build
7:40 But I do not have any horses.
Then you best start rustling. That step requires a horse.
hello bhai kya aap meri channel ki help kar sakte ho main bhi Aapka Channel ki help karunga
Excuse me... Can I let go of the horses now?
Goodness, yes!
Oh yes, of course! hopefully you at least watered them while you were waiting for my answer!
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit
