- My 2,096th kite video. Delta kites are always good to fly, and adding tails can improve their stability and their appearance. The tails I was using today are extra high quality, and I can recommend them to anyone who appreciates quality.
Anyone wanting to check out all my "How to..." videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at / jimskitesnz . - Zábava
Beautiful kites❤
Cool movement
Great sharing & thanks a ton Jim
Glad you enjoyed it, Juliana.
What a lovely day to show the Deltas with a selection of beautiful tails. Always nice to see Colin and Peter's kites. One or two of them seemed very familiar to me.
That's good to know, Carl - you haven't forgotten what a kite is, anyway! Have you planned your next visit yet?
Thank you Jim for sharing a colorful display....very nice.
You are very welcome, Craig.
Deltas are my favorite, most of them i fly, too.
They are certainly good kites to have, and I have a lot of them!
The Shazam trailing edge is much 'flappier' when seen from behind. I like those tassle end 'streamers' .
Now Jim. Those Spider Kite Transition tails. Red, green and blue. Surely to be fitted as Port and Starboard with a central blue ? 😂
Excellent stuff !!!!!! 👍
Yes, the Shazam has a lot of extra fabric and was deliberately designed to be flappy, thus aiding stability apparently. You are right about the tails and I should have known better.
Thank you Jim. A beautiful collection in the air today.
Thanks for watching!
What a great show with different kites. Beautiful Peter and Jim.
I'm glad you enjoyed it Thank you for watching!
All those beautiful kites made a great display Jim. Thanks, Ron
You are very welcome, Ron. Getting colder here, but no doubt things are improving for you.
Beautiful display!!... I've been eyeing those tails, and thought about replicating them..but have I?.. no...🤪
They are certainly well made, and it would take a lot of time and trouble to make ones as good as that!
Nice video Jim. Looked like a beautiful day. Dune shot was great. Thanks Jim!
Glad you liked it, Dewey. Yes, a good autumn day, but unfortunately the days are getting too short here at the moment.
I flew a TEMU 55M (180 ft.) coral snake for the first time a couple days ago. It flew nicely and had a very alive looking snaky sway to it and a sinuous tail end like a giant octopus' tentacles.
Great kites, Jim. The Peace Delta looks beautiful with a great trio of different coloured tails. Good choice. Very nearly flying weather here in the UK….
I'm glad you liked the video, and it's good to know that things are improving for you "back home".
Great
Thank you. You have some interesting kites.
Looks great!
Thanks, Evan!
I was sitting on the beach one day and watched as this man flying his kite just hooked it up to a pole and walked away. And that kite was in the air for at least three hours without any attendance. Do you carry ultralight kites that can do that because the winds here in Ventura, California are more like a breeze.
If you looked through all my 2,127 kite videos, almost every one of the hundreds of different kites you would see would be tied down. Every time I fly, I tie my kites down and leave them flying until I'm ready to pack up. Any kite that flies reasonably steadily can be tethered and will remain in the air as long as the wind is blowing. There is no need for ultralight kites, but if you have light breezes then delta kites (of which there are many kinds) would probably be the easiest to start with.
Tail can let kites more stable?
Yes, Jiang, that is true.
