This was the first song from Aurora I ever heard. It was in a sad, inevitable scene in an episode of The Flash. I then went on CZcams and saw this performance and was blown away.

One of the most stand out performances by any artist. The first hundred times i seeing this performance i only see her gallery of expressions and her song technique. I was so taken by this song and her crying tones is otherworthly. Great!!!! You are so great!!

What an amazing performance. A shy, petite 19 year old, barefoot on the tips of her toes, flawlessly singing an achingly beautiful song about a very difficult, sensitive issue, at a prestigious international event. Aurora is extraordinary. Take a look at "Winter Bird" from the 2017 Nidarosdomen concert and "Daydreamer" from the 2019 HAIK concert. Also her US TV debut "Conqueror" on the Jimmy Fallon show from 2016. Aurora will get you boogying in your car in that one.

Probably the most intense and impressive performance of this song by Aurora... it touches me, everytime I watch and listen to it. Aurora also has some amazing covers in her repertoire... Try her rendition of the Imagine Dragons' song "Believer"... so beautiful... Best wishes : Gerry

Aurora wrote this song after reading about a "murder" in the paper near her homeland. A man killed his wife/girlfriend out of love. She was seriously ill and suffered more every day. He released her from suffering. The song is sung from the perspective of the woman's ghost. She also makes it clear that she understands her husband. Maybe it was with the woman's consent (I hope so) or he made the decision on his own. No idea. But it was love. And this is her darkest Song.
You will only find this explanation of this song in one interview with her. It's not written anywhere else. And usually she doesn't explain her songs that specifically either, because she wants everyone to find their own story in them. This way songs stay interesting longer. That's why I also believe that this explanation was just an accident. It was also just a brief side note on a question asked, by the way.
She usually only says to the song it is a true tragic love story that doesn't end well.
It should be said that this News was an inspiration for this song. That doesn't have to mean that the song itself is about it. But since it all fits together, I think so. Of course, it is written in such a way that many interpretations are possible. Just like Aurora actually always does.
