I have a 6.5straight 6 Isuzu in my lobster boat. Has a rhg6 turbo on it . Operation rpm is 2600-2700. Do you think a s300 66 will be too big ?
An S362 sxe would work well. Finding the right exhaust housing might take some work.
I have 94 gmc 1500 with the 6.5 it was my grandpas before he passed and I've been watching your videos to learn more about the engine and it would be cool if you put links to places where you get parts
I have a Facebook page where I keep it all posted and Instagram. CZcams has been funny about me posting links. So I apologize that most aren’t attached here.
@@gingersnapcustoms ok cool good to know
Where did you get your flange adapter from and are there any other flange adapters for t3 to t4s you would recommend
In the photo album on the GSC Facebook page I did an S300 post and tried to explain what I used if you run into snags. I use a BDdiesel T3 to T4 adapter.
Hell yeah brother
All fun and games launching until a front hub lets go!
@@gingersnapcustoms it sounded good in that short clip. Definitely a different beast than a holset. A lot more turbine noise out the tail pipe IMO
@@pacificdrumma it’ll put you right in the seat too. I was very impressed with how it runs even if I was only able to do 5-6 miles before the hub let go.
What psi boost wise was u seeing, sounded so good.
@@razibilla284 I was seeing 18-20psi boost and 15-20psi driver pressure at this boost levels. It did great
Was your cko turbo rebuilt with proper thrust bearings or did you just happen to get a good one?
I’m looking to upgrade the stock turbo when I get a quadstar tune.
Seems to me, the Chinese turbos are so cheap, rebuilding a brand new one with good parts makes sense.
This one came out of the box and went on the truck. I changed exhaust housings and that’s all. We did tear apart it’s twin and found out these particular ones come with better bearings from the get to at least.
Do you of any trick mass air flow sensor for my 95 6.5 when I get over 10 pounds boost goes limp..
Yes. It’s called purchase an ECM tune. Without it you’ll always throw that code unfortunately.
@@gingersnapcustoms Ok.thank..
@@tomrohn8607 if you tow often the Quadstar tow tune I have has been nothing short of great. You’ll thank yourself later.
@@gingersnapcustoms mine 95 can I change chip in computer??
@@tomrohn8607 you can get a multi tune. 95s you just pop the prom in and out to change it.
Where did you get that turbo (cko) can you have it gated and turn the boost down? Or is the 1:1 drive ratio ok to run it at 15-20psi boost??
1-1 drive to boost is what allows me to run 20-25 psi boost on stock head bolts. Most guys are afraid and want to only run 10-12psi which is ok. But due to the lower IAT and EGT you can run higher boost and not have issues.
How much bost you get?
Peak 26. Average 16. Boost isn’t the killer. Heat is. Lower drive pressure and heat allows me to run more boost.
