  • After watching this video, you'll have more confidence on what your brushes are really capable of (even with just the default ones)
    I know beginners tend to ask a lot of questions on which brushes a particular artist use and think that having the same brushes can make them a better artist. Well I'm here to explain that you actually just need a few versatile brushes and it actually depends more on how you use them rather than having that "perfect brush" for that specific part of your painting.

    this is such a great new concept to add to my art skill set! you've explained it really well and it's a rlly new and simple way of understanding how these pro artists get such great texture while also maintaining clear forms in their work - can't wait to put this into practice later :) just subscribed!

    One thing I also see artists do a lot is work with the lasso to quickly create shapes, then paint inside them with textured brushes.

      😆😆 well this could be applied to any software not just Krita, but I am happy that Krita is getting a lot of recognition from CSP's recent announcement

    • @NikolaNevenov86
      @NikolaNevenov86 Před rokem +3

      In a way I can understand CSP,
      If you want development you would want a subscription type service. Programmers need to be paid to do stuff. The same is with Krita.... Krita isn't free...it's Free to use, but there is a core of dedicated supporters that are paying what amounts to a subscription fee so that Krita is being further developed.

    I always paint everything with one or 2 brushes and do my details by hand I don’t like how some people use the shape brushes too much it makes the painting less genuine to me

    • @RexelBartolome
      @RexelBartolome  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yea I can see where you're coming from, use too many shape brushes and it will definitely feel more 'digital' looking and some prefer the traditional look of everything having a hand-painted feel.

  • @rafaelbruno2128

    people are too attached to brushes but the real secret here is the color picking. It really doesn't matter the brush you use.

    • @RexelBartolome
      @RexelBartolome  Před 4 měsíci +1

      yes, it's a pretty common trap to fall into. Novices see the textures and want to emulate it in their own work without knowing values and colors are the ones that makes or breaks a painting, not texture.

      Just FYI his name is John Park and afaik yes he does have an Instagram account. Though I'd recommend other people instead as I've learned John Park has a history of dating students in Brainstorm School where he teaches, he also has lots of strong ties with NFT's.
      Go follow Lixin Yin or Craig Mullins instead :)
