    Thank you so much for this! This is extremely helpful. I'm trying to get back to digital art and I'm looking for different programs at the moment. I ended up being brought back to Krita. It's been a while but I'm happy to find this to polish up my own knowledge about this. So this video was extremely helpful, thank you!

    I just tried the sketching 1 and 2 brush for fun yesterday and I both love but hate it.
    Cause drawing a character feels SO so much easier and it looks great. Drawing one stroke makes it draw this filling inside the curves, the more you turn, the more it adds.
    And it looks great.
    But I hate it cause it feels like cheating. If I drew a body with this tool, then somebody else drawing a body with this tool would get the same effect. And that just made me feel guilty and cheap.
    But DAMN does the sketchy lines look gorgeous. Reminds me when I sketch with pen and paper, though not as good but really really close.
    It's just the rugged and different varying thickness of the lines that make hand drawn have this unique quality you loose with straight brushes with a single thickness and perfectly smooth lines.
    But yeah soft airbrush is a wonderful brush. I always love how they can make pixel art look like a smooth transition with just 4 or even 3 layers. A cool way to paint that I found was to paint the main lined body in one layer, make 2 new layers with different colors inside the body, use soft air brush rather big and set it to erase.
    A white background and painting the body black looks gorgeous when you softly erase, it's like turning the eraser into a brush and painting with it.

    Did you use a drawing pad to draw with the brushes? Because all the brushes you use didn’t make solid drawing, unless you pressed it harder. Comparing to the mouse, it’ll just be solid drawing. It wouldn’t be smooth and soft.

    What brushes should I use for water?

    • @JustForFun7882
      @JustForFun7882  Před 3 lety

      Under the paint brushes, you can see some classified as "Watercolor". They don't bleed, and you may not really consider them water colors (don't shoot the messenger). There is a watercolor edge setting in the sub tool details. Ironically, I think only Watery shows it in the tool properties. The closest thing I've seen to water color is to limit the opacity, but again, ironically, that's not visually shown in the tool properties. If you really need a good watercolor brush, you may want to start with the existing ones and then tweak the brush how you like. See my Brushes videos in my playlist Clip Studio Paint How to. The settings are complex, but I personally don't know of any great water color brushes. If you find one, you can post your favorite.

      The dockers are moveable. In the top right corner of any docker are two symbols, the one on the right side closes the docker and the icon left of it frees or loosens the docker. After you have loosened a docker, you can move it with a left click and hold of your mouse or pen to a place you like, and while moving over the dockable areas the docker "wants to snap" in its new place, and when you let the mouse button go it snaps. If something goes wrong, you can click on the rightmost icon in the toolbar of Krita and choose default to reset Kritas dockers and put them back into the "delivery state" of Krita. To hinder it from snapping while moving, you can hold down the CTRL-Key of your keyboard.
