    I've got exactly one bar total, an Ohio Power Bar.
    But I'm pretty OK with that. The only thing I want to add so far as bars go is a beater barbell for doing some stuff that likely will bend the bar. No reason to bend a good bar, after all. Oh, and a SSB. And a trap bar. And a multi-bar. And a Duffalo Bar.
    Alright. I think I may have a problem.

    Hey Brandon, give American Barbell a try on your next purchase. I have a Rogue Ohio Power Bar in Stainless and had a Black zinc as well . I have the Elite power bar from American Barbell and its a beauty. Knurl is medium but super sticky and the fit and finish is second to none.

  • @andie_pl
    @andie_pl Před 5 lety +1

    I have the Rogue Deadlift Bar and the Texas Deadlift Bar, both black zinc finish. The finish on the Texas Deadlift bar is fading faster than the Rogue Deadlift bar which likely causes the Texas bar to have grippier knurl. The texas deadlift bar knurl also holds chalk deeper in the knurling than the Rogue one does. It is harder to clean out imo.

    I enjoyed the reviews. I have the same thoughts on the Rogue Power Bar -- I used to have the original 45-lb version and sold/purchased the new 20kg version. Just as you I thought at first it was sweet with the shorter collars but I have been thinking I wish the collars were the original size as the 45-lb since I too hit my power rack often. I've even used collars on the inside of the plates when I'm really have a bad day. [I have an Eleiko competition bar too]. But my favorite daily bar is the original B&R bar. I purchased it from Rogue about 3 years ago right before they came out with the 2.0. I like the bar because it's 29mm / 45-lb, has the larger collars, but most importantly I really like the knurl on the bar -- it's passive but good fine enough to provide grip -- similar to a Duffalo bar I would describe it -- so maybe check that bar out when you can. Anyways good job and thanks for the video.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  Před 5 lety +1

      I like the TPB, but it's not as stiff as the OPB or Kabuki bar. Once you put more than 400-500lbs on your back squatting it's definitely noticeable.

    • @witheredserenity
      @witheredserenity Před 5 lety +2

      Brandon Campbell Diamond Kabuki is too pricey and I went with TPB over the Ohio i think because of shipping costs. I do notice some flex with over 500lbs on it but nothing deal-breaking in my opinion. I purchased it to replace my Rogue echo bar which bent permanently and made squatting unpleasant.

    If it's not a Texas Power bar, I don't care. Every Texas Power I've seen in the 10 years I've been lifting every bar has been perfect, even in old gyms with bars that are about as old as I am. I'm sure all the bars are nice, but knowing the quality can put up with generations of meatheads, is both comforting and confidence inspiring. The standard bar is ironically cheaper than most other bars too which is comical.
