It is nice to see a review of the standard Cummins. Lots of people think if they buy a Cummins they are getting over 1000 lbft of Torque. Ram really needs to make the HO Cummins it’s only diesel and put it in the 2500 lineup also.
Yeap I don't like that ram does this.
What's the point of all that power in a 2500, terrible payload and tow capacity.
3/4 ton trucks are landscape/plow specials or for mall crawlers
If your gonna get the 3500 dually you may as well get the HO Cummins and the Asian transmission.
Big price difference not everyone can just go ahead an get the H.O with aisin trans.
@@cbake9440 More money to replace the 68RFE when it breaks
@@cbake9440 if you are already spending 60k for a truck. Whats an extra 3k
@@Thirty-OughtSick if it's was that easy everyone would have the HO with the aisin.
@@cbake9440 not everyone wants a transmission that drives like a box truck
Happy NewYear Ben.Hope we hit 1mil this year
Now that's a truck. Nice. Diggin the color. Nice mountain scenery too on your drive around the block : )
2:00 "Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here". Nice.
WOW a guy who admitted that he’s 5’11”” instead of 6’ or almost 6’. 👍
Are they still using 4th gen cabs on the 2500 3500 trucks.
Any word what might change in 2022
just ordered mine last week but not getting dually its my 4th dodge truck, love them!!
one of the good things about Ram is they put a black headliner and black plastic trim on the moldings (a pillar c pillar) every other manufacture seems to be going to light grey or tan which just looks cheap.
What kind of camera/tripods/setup do you use to film your videos?
How are people hauling the Host cabover when it weighs more than max capable weight?
Ben, when you say payload capacity on the truck. Is that straight from the door sticker?
Be nice to add a shot of the door payload/tow capacity info.
Putting together a teuck camper setup and its all about payload.
Thanks , great video
Why can’t you get the high output Cummins on the 2500?
That is a nice truck. An average cost of a home here is 400-500k so the truck is not the cost a home for us but they are getting pricey aren’t they? Great review. Happy New Year. I think I’ll be trading off my 2019 Ram Sport 1500 for a bigger suv like a Tahoe or Yukon this year!
Can I get one like that big horn but regular cab?
That's the beautiful ram truck I like the color of blue on the ram
Very beautiful truck 😍😍❤👏🏻👍🏻
I think this type of trucks are fun to drive..
That thing is beautiful 😍 omg
Your like a kid in a candy store with all those dealers around you. Great Gig going.
You can get the different screen setup where you can change everything etc on the bighorn on the level two mine you can
Yes
Why does it sound like that when you first started it sound like a weird whistle noise and no that was not the turbo
Might as well get the High output Cummins with the Aisin.
Did you say it could tow 21000 lbs.? dual wheels and the Cummins I figured it would tow at least 30000 lbs.
What a beauty!
My personal truck is a 2020 3500 single rear wheel with a high output And the Aisin which gives me 24,999 pounds of towing again all personal taste but if you’re going to go with A dulley you should definitely get the high output an ice in to max out that towing capacity
What is the cost of your truck I am looking into trading in my Dodge Ram 2500 power wagon
Pre Covid and before all the car buying craziness I was at 67k out the door
Ben, that was too funny when the fuel light came on. Love the color of the truck. I would like your thoughts of the cattle tan and black interior of the longhorn? Keep up the good work.
I love that interior
@@BenHardyCars Cattle tan and tan. 👍👍
Had a 68rfe in a 6.4 2500. Had to get a tranny rebuild, thank God just before warranty expired. If the hemi is destroying that tranny, can't imagine what a Cummins would do to it.
Traded that truck for 2021 HO Cummins, towing beast!!
Also if you have a 5th rv either type 98% of them are under 20k in gvrw.
Loooove that blue 😍
Gonna hurt the resale value?
How tall are you again?
Why are the dash lights fading in and out while you are driving? Electrical problems?
They are LED lights. Thats how they work. They pulsate so fast the naked eye can't see it, but when you film it you can easily see it flashing.
Nice review, but slow down camera and speaking, not a race. Relax take a breath.
That’s funny! Good point.
I was thinking that too. It hurt my brain to keep up.
He’s nervous that’s why
Little faster next time
It's ok I can watch it 5 times
Love that color
What a beast 🐏
They use duallys for hot shot trucking
Do 2021 Toyota Sequoia
Details lower the power and torque for this year's model
Wish they still offered this color
Thise truck is fire🔥🔥
Ram electrical problems can do that 🤣
@@bababooey7576 *Ford
I really wish they would do the Hydro Blue with night package.
I have the HO with Aisin trany!
Ben, can you ask the Ram dealer why FCA needs to make 2 different engine/transmission combos. It doesn't make sense and i believe it adds to issues they have. Maybe you have more insight but this drives me crazy.
It’s ridiculous isn’t it? They’re the only manufacturer that does it.
@@SLICKW1993 I knows its because of the two different Transmissions they offer (the 68rfe doesn't like a lot of power thrown at it) but you would think a major truck manufacturer would be able to come to terms with a major brand transmission supplier by now. This stuff drives me crazy.
Blake Watson actually GMC and Chevy have two options transmission on the dually’s. If you want 3.73 you get a 6 speed 10 speed only offers 3.42s.
I paid 45 for a used 2017 Cummins with the Aisin limited. Truck prices are nuts. 410 with 850ftlbs
Damn that's a 65k truck here in CO! Great buy man
As much as they cost they should come with LED'S..
Wow, I need one to tow my 5th wheel.
Fantastic! (Brasil).
Wow!
21,000 is a lot of weight for some to tow without a CDL-add the truck and its 29,000lbs. All my trucks can't tow more than 26,000lbs and that's truck trailer and load.
Yes, yes you do.
Is this standard or high output Cummins?
I agree with Gary G...slow down dude. Also, 21 k towing? Are you sure?
God that’s awesome!😊👍🎉
I've never heard someone say the ram is a smoother ride than the f450. You're the first.
You will not have the turn radius of the F450.
Aisan transmission,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is needed
🔥👋🤩
$50k?
Videos are always rushed, just slooow doooowwn dude! I almost never watch your vids to the end because it makes me feel your nervous energy.
Why do a review on the standard base engine package, not the new Cummings HO engine package ?
USA 💕
😁🤩
Hey micro machine, slow down 😉
No! There is no excuse for this engine/trans combo from Ram. This is not an adequate transmission for this caliber of truck. They don't offer a discount-and no, the higher price they charge for the Aisin combo is NOT a discount relative to Ford and Chevy engine trans combos. Ram need to update the Aisin 6 speed and discontinue use of the rfe trans.
The towing capacity is actually 35,000 lbs with a 5th wheel and 20,000 lbs normal trialer
This truck doesn’t have the aisin
Yea all the numbers out there that manufacturers put out there is in a basic truck like a tradesman 2wd dully single cab etc.
toyota and nissan cant Touch The bad ass dodge ram diesel
My business currently has 5 dodge trucks, 3 of them diesels. We will not be buying any more because of the constant problems. If you want a dodge trade it at 50 k or be prepared for trans ,window control, air con problems. 2019 with 65k trans under warrantee has been out for 9 weeks.Great truck til problems start. Eric N
The 68rfe?
Where is the mute button
Mmmhhhh The history of Ram HD transmissions ..... 😂😂😂😂😂 how tf did they ever sell a truck? Thank you Cummins....
My history is great. I am on my third Ram Cummins with the 68RFE with no issues. My current 2016 Mega dually has 117k miles and runs like new. I pull a 16k 5th wheel +8,000 miles a year as well as a 20k equipment trailer +10,000 miles a year. Love it.
@@caroldavid1019 your a lucky man David, Iv personally replaced every 68RFE Iv ever owned in a 3500 application truck being used on the farm and as a service truck. Every 68 was serviced and documented as required along with band adjustments and washing the tranny cooler out as required.
I understand you have some luck with them, from your milage I would say your almost a recreational user of the 68RFE. Try running the 68 hauling hay at - 35 and at plus 30 all day then running the soggy bitch up a logging road after supper to fix a broken D8 Cat and taking a tripple axle dump trailer back down the hill loaded with green fire wood and a skid steer. Lol shortly after a life like that the death rattle of a 68 begins, biggest problem of that 68 is its already operating at max line pressure and cant handle any additional clutch stresses. For farting around Im sure the 68 is fine, you actually work thzt tranny and they all die the same. I want a Cummins engine, Allison transmission, Ford front end and a Ram rear axle, life would be great.
@@panthermartin7784 Ever heard of the Aisin? Chrysler can't make transmissions for shit, but they don't make most of their transmissions. The Aisin is made by Toyota, and is a very good transmission. The 68RFE? Not so much. The ZF8HP in the 1500's is a very good transmission also. I can tell that you haven't been keeping up with the times when you say "Ford front end". Ford has possibly the worst front end of any pickup. Death wobble is a common occurrence.
I'd probably trade my super duty in for a ram dually I'm just annoyed that I have to upgrade to a mega cab just to get decent cab space, by today's standards.
You don't need a mega cab. The interior is very large. Full size adults can fit in the rear without issues.
@@gasolinediesel972 yeah I know it's pretty big but it's substantially smaller than my super duty interior. I feel like I'd be downgrading if I didn't go with a mega.
@@cvalle3443 I don't see how it's smaller. Feels the same size. The megacab is unnecessary, and pretty stupid. It's just an option for those dumbasses who lift their trucks 8 feet in the air, and put 45 inch mall crawler tires on it.
@@gasolinediesel972 Megacab makes it nice to sleep in. (Hotshot, RV travel trailers/5th wheel delivery drivers).
Imagine this as a custom truck.
😡
@@ihategmbecausealwaysstupid2014 Have a problem?
The answer is no. Mine has been nothing but problems
WE want a Alison trans !! Make it happen
Get rid of daily raptor get real power ram rebel trx
Everyone complaining about the h/o not available on the 2500 when the price difference between the 2500 & 3500 is minimal in the grand scheme. Just get a 3500 if you want the h/o so bad and quit bitching.
Just sold my 2018 ram 3500 HO. Transmission sucked, can't tune them, once emissions deleted had to keep it turned down or the converter wouldn't lock up till 3-4 gear. Need the 10 speed and they would be great. My new 2021 Chevy kills it in damm near every way.
Mega cab dually looks way better, love that color
Coin holders lol
A few thousand less at purchase, many thousands less when u trade it in because it isn't a high output...you pay on both ends. Too many people under-equip and under-power to safe a few buckies...why not over equip. If you are going into debt for $67G...is a few more thousand more really that much of a leap or gonna break u?
Bighorn vs f450
The answer is no.
It's a reliable truck but definitely not worth the amount of money the dealerships are charging for them now days. The interior is mediocre at best. I expect much more in a vehicle that cost half the amount of some home's.
LOL, Do you need an Aisin? Only of you are going to tow or carry anything with your heavy duty truck. The 68rfe is just like every other dodge fiat transmission, pure trash. If you didnt get the aisin/toyota transmission your should have your dealer add a spare to your deal instead of a spare tire. Because odds are you are going to need the a spare tranny LONG before you need the spare tire.
My 2021 F350 has 4.10 gear ratio, 10 speed trans and 6.7 diesel. 475 hp. 1050 tq. Kicks butt
Another cost of a house vehicle......👍
80k for a house is super cheap.
@@lkjslkdjfglkjsldkfjl......yes but 80k for a vehicle isn't......😁
That truck in that configuration doesn’t cost 80 K I bought my 2020 Laramie 3500 with a high output and the Aisin out the door new for 67
The 68RFE is a piece of trash. Get the Aisin if you want to tow heavy.
Not best truck for towing. 5500 is best. not 3500.....
they look so much better Than that shitty ass ford
Just go that little extra and buy a Ford . You know you want to !
No one cares about the torque. It’s no more than a Ford F-250
