    That was fun, I loved the late 70, early 80's jazz fusion sound they had going on. Two albums every jazz lover should hear, Weather Report - Heavy Weather and Casiopea - 1979 album. I can hear a good bit of both in this and it was a blast.

    Comment got lost, so reposting:
    Oh man, so glad you guys looked at this song, it is BONKERS!
    And just like you’ve said, Jonah is classically trained on the piano, like so many, and has often talked about classical music being one of their influences. Later in Highschool he switched to jazz piano.
    And you’re right again, as far as I know, vocally he’s classed as a tenor. What gets me is that he’s been singing in choirs all his life, but never had sung lead vocals in a band until he started jammin with Aron and Henrik’s and they asked him to.
    In an interview with bassmagazine/Singified, Henrik said of this one that they’d planned it on having a big keys and a drum solo.
    Well he doesn’t need to solo cause he’s smashing it anyways, all the time! Even when he’s just ‘in the background’ (some background…!) His bass sound on this track is spread over multiple channels (6?) and just sounds so lush…
    And Aron? I guess one has to listen to this piece a few times to fully appreciate what he does 🔥
    You picked out so many interesting things there.
    Very much appreciate your reaction and comments.
    Their cover of MJs “Thriller” is insane, as is “Rock You”.
    For a proper dope bass solo, check out “World On Fire”! 🔥🔥🔥
    And really everything else they’ve ever done…!
    Looking forward to listening to more Dirty Loops with you! 🙏🙏

    They may have shot this and "Next to You" in the same location/on the same day. They're not wearing the same clothes, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have shot them in the same day and just changed. In the videos for "Breakdown" and "World on Fire", they're definitely in the same setting and in the same clothes. Their videos from the first album and older covers all seem to have the same or similar setups as well.

    • @lottawiklund8606
      @lottawiklund8606 Před rokem +2

      Next To You was shot at Baggpipe Studios in Stockholm (it's mentioned in the credits and you can see the studio name on the wall at the start of the video 😃), and they have shot a fair few of their videos in that particular studio over the years (both Breakdown and World On Fire, for example, and it looks like some older stuff like Rolling in the Deep and Over the Horizon could be from there as well, but I'm not 100% sure about the older stuff). However, the credits of Rock You says Soundtrade Studios in Solna, and Rock You and Work Shit Out looks like they're filmed in the same location. The setup with the lights are the same for all three though (and are the ones they used for their parts of the videos from Turbo as well).
