      We believe in superstition. In fact, our religion is not Islam but superstition. We worship graves and fake pirs and all sorts of other rubbish.

    Another enjoyable episode as always. There's a 9 gaz ka pir in Sukkur as well! And the rest is the same story as you narrated with the Pir. People as you rightly say are fully indulging in "Toham Parastee", because if we have to practice Islam, that will be difficult, so easy way out is to go to Pirs and ask for their blessings instead.
    This also made me recall an incident in my student days in Hyderabad. In those days (mid-80's) there used to be wall-chalkings which showed a Heart in which Allah used to be written, and these were put up by an infamous individual "Gohar Shahi". His "Aastana" used to be in Kotri, near Hyderabad. A couple of my batchmates, all naughty like me, were curious to know what this johnny was doing, as he was quite famous in those days. We all went together to see him and when we reached his aastana, we saw, a guy sitting/lying atop a settee in the middle of a courtyard, surrounded by women, who were pressing his feet and massaging his neck/shoulders!
    He beckoned us to sit near him, and afterwards asked what we had come for. We answered we came out of curiosity and how was he allowing these na-mehram women to massage him? On hearing this, his disciples got perturbed and he had no answer except people do this out of devotion. All of us got up and said that you are nothing more than a fraud and his disciples got angry but since we had our personal guards with us, so no one dared do shit.................hehehehehe
    But this is the level of ignorance we have in our society. And also recall the tales of the "Pir Jee Otthnee" relating to Pir Pagaro, but that would be for some other day.
    Keep up the good work Salman sb. Tales that you narrate are always looked forward to.

      Thank yiou, Shah sahib. All pirs, graves etc are frauds. Big business houses. No taxes, only unaccountable income and free sex with virgins. They have their jannat right here.

    Hahaha, the prospect of Chenab doing _kaam poora_ of Tanooh Aleh Salaam just had me in stitches. 😀
    Great narration, sir. I think someone should ask them that if Gohar supposedly had this kashf ul quboor then why didn't he enlighten us all about all the other 9 yard graves that are _takay tokree_ in that area.
    So sad how gullible and myth-addicted we are.

      All of us might have stories of valiant ancestors who came to India with MbQ or Robber Mahmud, but the reality is that we are all Indian peoples. We worshiped graven images for 3000 years and when we supposedly converted to the "one and only true faith", we could not give up our old method of worship. Hence all these fake burials.

      Indeed, sir. I think it's the result of, among other things, defining one's identity not in the affirmative but in the negation of something - that too, of one's own past that has made one what is.
      I was reading the play Shakuntala by Kalidasa (~5th century CE) and it is astounding how familiar it sounds - almost as if it were a story of present day rural Punjab, the story's mythical element aside.

    In PMA in the early 90s, we went for an exercise near Lawrencepur on the Tarbela Road to a Place (just behind the Mian Hadi Baba Qabaristan) which was called Chulghazi چلغازی Baba by our Platoon Commander. It was another Nogaza Grave and a local told us that it was the site of a battle with the Sikhs, and the grave was of a Saint who fought the Sikhs and after being decapitated, kept on fighting till he fell here. However another local told us that it was a mass grave from the battle.
    At the end of the exercise, some commandos passing by told us that the actual name was shal gazi (شل گزی) meaning 20 yards in Pashto... The main Graveyard however is one of the most picturesque places you will ever see...

    • @salmanrashid8880
      @salmanrashid8880 Před rokem +1

      Sir, there is no truth in these long graves. All of them are really businesses (dokandari) for those who set them up. Between Kharian at Sarai Alamgir at Choa Karial, the grave of Jhandeyaan Vali Sarkar is nothing but field gun positions turned into tombs in the famous November Handicap excersie.

      @@salmanrashid8880 the grave I mentioned is a bit further away from the main Graveyard on a mound above the desert all around. I couldn't understand how a desert got there. The construction seems to be quite decent and old. We were told told to dig a company command post just adjacent to the mound. Ended up digging multiple skeletons half way through... Since we weren't going to dig another one, we buried the skeletons in another grave we dug for them.

    When Singhpura shrine was demolished in those days I was studying at the University of Engineering Technology Lahore. A huge crowd of protestors gathered around blocking the main road but still, the grave was excavated. The interesting story which I heard was that Baba g body was totally fresh and there was noor on his face. Good to hear the truth from you after so many years. It is habit of our jahil tabaqa to associate superman stories with every Pir just to sell their chooran
