    My Lord
    Fanastic as usual.
    I would like to share s little story but very significant and a bit pride for me. I had just read about Lord Shiva and Katas Raj. One of my students Mr Abid Husain Bhatti passed PCSE and got first appointment as A.C Sahib Bhadur of Choa Saiden Shah. I advised him to visit Katas Raj and get its lake revived. He got funds and did revive the lake. He took action against cement factories because they were pumping out ground water from the adjoining area. But after his transfer lake again went dry. Now lake is replanished intermittently from out side.
    In year 2011 or 2012 he lighted the whole Katas Temples Complex with 2000 bulbs and held a dinner party in honour of Indian Hindu Yatries. He sent me a large framed pic of the illuminated complex.
    I visited Katas Raj complex first time in 2015. I felt Lord Shiva was happy with me. 😀

      Sir, I know Abid Bhatti very well. We met when he was at Choa Saidan Shah. I still have his phone number though we haven't spoken since he was in Khanewal. And that is quite a few years ago. However, thank you for the appreciation.

    A fascinating account, indeed. It's my deepest wish to prostrate before the great Shiv mandir of Katasraaj.
    And the desire is all the more fanned by your accounts of historical places of Paxstan.
    Amazing stuff.

    Last year I visited that site (murti) in gandhala valley , its a mound now however back then in 800AD there must be a stupa as mentioned in xuanzang's book , Almost a century back general abbot shifted Buddhist plaques from murti to Lahore museum, there is a brooklet in that valley that goes all the way to vitasta (Hydaspes).

    DG cement kallar kahar was my second project site, I stayed there from 2005 to 2006 at Dalelpur which is roughly 6 kilometers from Dulmial. I remember I went to Dalelpur in June, and there was not a single night in the whole summer that I slept without wearing a blanket.

    • @salmanrashid8880

      And now the cement factories you helped put up have destroyed the place. Lt Gen Safdar (also Governor Punjab) is from Dulmial. He has always been very affectionate to me and many years ago he invited to stay with him at his village home. When I finally called to ask when I could come, he said he had to move to Islamabad because of poor air in his village. All of it from those cement factories. Not your fault, but they should never have been built in the water scarce region. The sacred pond of Ketas has gone dry because of them.

      @@salmanrashid8880 I like to share with you two sites of historical importance that used to be present at DG cement before its construction. one was an old ancient well and the other was an area demarcation plate in Hindi script that used to be present at the proposed query site of cement factory or maybe little further in outskirts from the factory. I don't know what happened to them but they were there till 2007.

    Katas Raj temple complex seems to be one of those numerous originally Buddhist sites which, in the wake of Buddhism's decline and the ascendency of Puranic Hinduism, were appropriated for the devotion to the Hindu deities.
    Sometimes I think that many secrets lie buried in the Salt Range and in the Potohar region in general, and some archaeological effort might uncover many hidden treasures.

    • @salmanrashid8880
      @salmanrashid8880 Před rokem

      True. A great deal of work needs to be done. Sadly, however, Archaeological Deptt has next to no funds for exploration.
