  • Last weekend all German-weighted athletes fought for the title of the German champion in weighted calisthenics.
I won my third title in a row! My weight class was from 73 to 81kg.

I like that there's a legs element because otherwise there wouldn't be much need to train them. Then again, the heavier your legs, the more disadvantage at the other 3 elements, so I guess it's tricky to balance things out. Pretty interesting.

Do you know why they don't have weighted chin ups in the competition? For chin ups the movement/execution is much more clear, since you can lock yourself in below and above. Pull ups you can't really lock yourself above and people just keep throwing their chins up to do "a legit rep". Chest to bar would be also great as you have to touch the bar with your chest to compete a rep, which is much harder, but also more clear.

It's like being strong doesn't necessarily mean you will be a great boxer for instance. You still have to practice.

Like you said this sport is pretty young, so I think maybe it's better that the final be judged by the score which consider factors on each movement: such as squat weight multiple 1.0, dips weight multiple 1.5, pull-up weight multiple 2.5, muscle-up weight multiple 5.0. Factors that demonstrate the difficulty in each movement may be helpful to let people understand this compete better, and guide athletes to train in a featured overall result.
