I think that person who wasnt playing their hand probably had a bunch of blue cards like prologue to phyresis and serum snare.
It's possible.
I'm only into the second match, and.... wow. That first match was insane! You and Swayze have your own creative builds. I've been meaning to try this one out, so I'll give it a shot. Hope you and yours had a safe and happy Easter weekend.
Good ole Blossoming Tortoise + Awaken the Woods + Tribute to the World Tree
Mono green is my fav color in mtg even though its not in the best place in standard at the moment. I wanted to give this list a try because its a bit different than what I always play, and this has been a lot of fun! Dropping a Nissa late game to give everything plus a bajilion and trample is so satisfying lol. The life gain lands saved me against boros and mono red a couple times. I really like those in this deck.
Yeah, the lands being used for life gain and ramp really help this deck a lot.
I took out a forest for an Argoth and I added in 1 Titania for the 3 mana slot you mentioned. Getting 3 life per sac land helped slot when I played against mono red. I found them for you.
In the mono black toxic deck I belive oppo was playing Dimir, and their hand was all blue proliferate spells, but no blue mana...
Yeah, that's the only reasonable explanation. They had to be cut off from a color. Either blue or white.
Wow... that first game was ridiculous... wild ramp and over-the-top finish! Could mono green actually be viable again? Cheers!
Yeah, I felt like I had to be too patient in that game, but managed to get the win, so I'll take it.
For the poison gamer, I bet on Vraskas and gix's commands.
L O V E this list, PD. TY!
You're welcome.
Awaken the woods into nissa is a true combo
Having played a bunch of it (or at least something very similar), I feel like that Mono Blue Ensoul deck is even less of a "Ninja" deck than the Domain Atraxa deck is an Angel Deck. Like, sure it plays a few of them to help push extra damage and get value early but they're incidental at best to its gameplan of putting artifacts onto the field and then giving them a ton of power to attack with early, and you honestly care less about the ninja and its ability than you the fact that it bounces your own creature back to your hand so you can get another artifact token on the field.
It does get blown out by perfectly timed removal pretty easily the same way any low-to-the-ground aggro deck does, but I've found it to at least have some game against a lot of the stuff out there in an "average" match (it does run a few counters, which make it a little less ruined by all the sweepers).
I'll have to take your word for it. All I know if from a small bit of testing and the couple of times I've run up against it in ladder games.
Look at Bristle Hunter from TJ bro, the 2 drop that's a mana gen and untaps when you commit a crime
Don't think this is really the place for it. But that said, don't let me stop you. If it works for you, have at it. Everyone should be playing cards they like to play.
I rarely see toxic anymore but played a mono G this morning for a daily quest and saw it twice. There's no question (in my experience/opinion) that the match-making algorithm changes up which decks you'll get matched up with! Oh, and according to untapped, mono R is still tops, with 20% of the meta today! Cheers!
Nah, today if the first time I couldn't find a mono red deck in forever. Even when I've played mono green previously. The matchmaker only matter in the paly queue. Otherwise on the ladder it's just rank and relative wins that matter.
"How Sway...?!"
I haven't had a good chance to use that phrase in a while. LOL
lol Love it! @@PowrDragn
Tier 1 deck ?
Hate when my green deck mills my win cons
Maybe Gwenna?
Gwenna only works for creatures, so likely wouldn't do a lot here.
@@PowrDragn I got it mixed up. It's the Nissa the Legendary Landfall Lady
Simic, this deck wants to be simic. It lacks interaction with opponent creatures and your permanents in the graveyard. I would throw a couple blue removal, and a few copy from graveyard sorceries, and the 4 drop tree card (g) that let's you cast from the graveyard plus some combo pieces if there are any nice combos rn.
It really doesn't need it. That's not the type of game this deck is trying to play. It's linear minded for a reason, by design.
