3D French Smile Line - Step-by-Step Of The Latest Nail Trend!

This video is something you’ve all asked for, 3D French Nails. You’ve all seen them on my instagram and now I’m going to show you on Kim - who won the bid for a day filming with us at the Beautiful Minds event.
I’m going to dehydrate and base coat the nails before applying the forms. So, Kim has an overactive thyroid so forms don’t stay on her fingers very well. I’ll use gel residue wipe off to dehydrate the flesh and then use the centre of a form to make sure the back in really stuck to the finger.
I’m going to start with It’s Clear Dear for a thin layer of length. We’re creating a Russian Almond shape so the sides will create little wings. I’m then going to use Tempting Fate for the first colour at the cuticle area, creating a dramatic smile line. I’ll then file the smile line into shape before going in with Snow White along the wall and a little over the lip. I’ll then use Clear Builder Gel just to make sure it’s extra clear and then go back in with It’s Clear Dear. I’m then going to graduate down my colours, leaving the wings of the nail alone. For the tip of the nail, I’m going to do a little diamond shape, so the 3D effect is in a stiletto shape and then add the gel. I’m using my darkest colour for the wings of the nail. File, buff and topcoat the nails and obviously add bling.

Oh my lord! They remind me of silk ribbons, sails on a sailboat, waves on the oceans. Can you imagine doing this design of a rainbow? That would be gorgeous. I can see, yellows and oranges or greens as well every combination would be stunning.

I'm normally not a fan of French nails but this is AMAZING! I love how it looks and how you've done the colours. That touch of bling also tells you it's a Kirsty nail!
Well, now I know why my sculpting forms don't bloody stay on! It's not just that I'm terrible at putting them on, it's also my clammy skin. I'll try the gel residue wipe off solution trick used here next time :)
You could put some tape around your finger were the form is meant to stick, ali express sells the stretchy elasticated tape that sticks to itself and it's really cheap.

wow all this on one nail. that's real art. I mean that's what I clicked for, I'm not even interested in acrylic nails for myself, never had them nor want them, but it's super cool to see what people can do with it and you're incredibly good
Sweaty Hands Fix: Before you begin, soak hands in "Johnsons Foot Soak Solution". This stops hands (or feet) from sweating for several days (depending on the persons present condition as to how long it will last before repeating). Then you can easily attach forms or Tips to fingers/nail beds. Short explanation; my son was born with very sweaty feet and this is what I used to keep his feet from constantly peeling. I have used it in shop on several occasions for those in need and it works beautifully. Hope this helps future clients! I love your work! Hugs

FIMO!!! In my late teens (I'm 45 now, so early 90's) I had two extremely talented friends who made fimo jewelry. The designs they'd come up with just by laying strips of fimo down. From cute Grateful Dead teddy bears, to marijuana leaves. Even faces or intricate abstract designs. They would sell them at my city's Saturday Market. Thanks for the memories, Kirsty. I think you & I would've gotten along as kids (I was a hippie punk rock skater girl, lol) bc you always mention things that bring up the memories! These nails are exquisite, as usual! (Edit: Fimo beads, to be exact)

This nail is GORGEOUS!!! I've been watching nail artists make this new design all week-- *dozens* of them! But the ones that are different shades of the same color, with the lightest color first and the darkest color last always look best, IMO. The ones that go dark to light always look like they are stepping UP, rather than stepping down, to me.
I am just *dying* to see someone do a full rainbow in this stepped, 3-D nail. I hope I won't have to wait until June to see someone actually do the whole ROY G BIV rainbow! I would try it, but I don't have all the right gel polish colors to do it with. Maybe I could mix the colors? I think the orange and the green are the only colors of gel polish that I don't have. I'm just not sure that I'm good enough to actually make this design look right.
Of course you are good enough! And you will never know until you try it! Mixing colours is not a bad idea for achieving desired colours instead of buying a brand new bottle just so you can use it once. You should have a go! And let us know how it went 😊💕
I just commented about the step lol. Didnt know if anyone would understand me. I find it odd. Almost like it should be built from the tip. It looks like its stepping into the nailbed when itd look so much better stepped the other direction. I know itd be way harder
