Hi, i've gone and bought the cx100 and i want to be able to plug it and not worry about battery draining. I was just wondering if i power it thru type-c, do i need 100w brick to be able to fully power it untill 100%???

What's that Gobo attachment on the x100 in the beginning?
I had two of the Zhiyun batteries die on me. I found the ZGCINE ZG-H90 Battery Grip online and use that instead. The battery last longer and I haven't had any issues with it. Glad Zhiyun is working on fixing their battery issue because their lights are amazing!

Hey, I had an identical experience with my X100, and I have to admit that the Zhiyun after-sales support was quite beneficial. They provided a return and exchange option, and I've had no problems with the new battery. It's encouraging to see that they are taking the problem seriously. Zhiyun, keep up the fantastic work!

I got the cx100 about 2 weeks ago and I honestly understand what they did here. Majority of the times, I do not use the Bluetooth, music mode or studio mode. Being able to save $150 makes it a little more accessible for those on a tight budget. Nice review

Must have been the original batteries that got shipped with issues
Zhiyun did send me a replacement battery. I just need to provide the proof of purchase and the serial number from the light and battery.

@fellowfilmaker I've been using zhiyun molus x100 battery combo. And it's my 3rd battery that i sent to zhiyun for replacement today. I don't think there is a solution for the x100 battery. I think zhiyun should recall the batteries and provide customers a refund or a 100w powerbank as an alternative. I have lost hope on the x100 battery.

I don't think its user error with the battery not charging. I've had to have one replaced already and I saw many others that said they had battery failures.

The Zhiyun MoLus X100 battery is defective and stops working after a few uses (me included). Many users have reported the same issue, and the company does not address it. Think twice before purchasing from certain brands, as what may seem cheap can end up being expensive

I'm another user who experienced battery failure after a couple of charges with the X100 battery...it's a systemic problem, and they (Zhiyun) have kind of been dancing around it.

Molus x100 user here! Sadly I have to report the same issue!!
I fixed it so far, but it's not a real fix. I took the battery apart and charged the cells with a standard lipo battery charger. Seems like it started working again... maybe this could help identify the issue, but it's definitely not a fix... I'll see how long it will last before it stops working again. So far it only happened once after about 15 charge cycles.

I had the battery issue on my x-100 on the first time I went to use it on location… love the light but not being able to use v-mounts is a miss
This also happened to me. Zhihyun has no customer service whatsoever. so I had to buy a new battery for $100 off Amazon.

I recently purchased this product and it seems there is a battery problem, I called after-sales team provided a battery replacement which I got today and it works fine.

Have you personally had issues with the old battery from the Molus? I know you're sponsored by them so it may be tough to say negative things but many other users as well as myself have had issues with the old batteries dying and not holding a charge anymore. The light itself is amazing when it works but a huge issue that you have a 50% chance of getting a faulty battery. Hoping they address this issue and hoping this new light does not incur those same issues.
Like I said in the video, I hadn't until just yesterday and now I can't charge it, or so it seems. I hear others have issues and I hope Zhiyun addresses them. I've made a point to reach out to them concerning the issue I had and will be sure to mention that it seems the batteries could use some attention.

My X100 battery started doing funny things, burning chargers and not charging at all, got in contact with zhiyun and had to send it for fixing at no cost other than shipping, it's been working fine since then.

The X100 battery is rubbish, mine died after 6 months of very light use, excuse the pun. I did a video about the charging situation with the X100 and had lots of people had commented about their battery failing, wouldn't buy another from Zhiyun.
People should know the truth about the battery on the X100, I hope future models improve for the sake of the customers who buy them in good faith.

That's good to hear, I already got a refund from the shop I purchased mine from so I hope anyone else who has one does get a replacement and that it doesn't fail on them.

my batteries died after 30 days... I have (2) units and with no resolution from seller/Zhiyun. I just run them via AC power.
the good news is I ran them in the photo studio to light my set for 12 hours straight with no issues whatsoever.... they are killer

Why would you buy the cx100? You're loosing mast of the functionality. Also, no screen??? No thanks. If the quality of light was better, maybe, but there is just too much removed for me to take this light seriously. The X 100 is already for beginners. Not sure what Zhiyuh is thinking with this one. Great comparison!
I wouldn’t say the x100 is for beginners. Intermediate level perhaps, but plenty of pros use it for it’s functionality and portability

Such a funny accident that the "inbuilt" battery failed, and because you can not just replace it by design, they have to replace the whole thing 🤦 who designs something like this.
No, the in built was fine on the cx100, I was referring to the x100 in the video, which is detachable and replaceable
Oooof. The battery on the X100 reportedly stops working after only a few months, so a non-detachable battery on the CX100 isn’t exactly confidence inspiring :O Obviously Zhiyun are providing customer service, but I don’t want to use a ticking time bomb on a shoot. :/
Also, knowing that it’s easy to accidentally skip a few hundred kelvins, that’s BIG red flag to me.
Too bad. The X100 is almost 100% what I want.
The CX 100 being powered by USB-C (rather than a proprietary power adapter) seems a big plus- I have a lot of USB-C PD chargers, including 2 that work off of D-Taps on V-Mount batteries.
I have the X100 and you can power with with a USB C. Even attached to a power bank.

Zhiyun's X100 is pretty rubish for proffesional sets, a very light and compact solutions for some scenes o gigs. Is not a light you can trust at any time .....this CX100 light is just not for a profesional use

Kind of a crazy comment, you could consider weddings and events “professional“ sets. if you can’t cram an aperture 1200 D in a small space, and a light like this does, you literally use this light on a “professional set“. So the real question is if you don’t like these lights because of their quality then what would you recommend?
