Amazing video scout! Its amazing to be in one of your videos since your videos are what got me into the Tetris scene in the first place.
Yo, it’s Scuti himself! Legendary stuff, dude.
Congrats!
Hell yeah Scuti!!! Incredible stuff man
Hey man! There's a lot of people that are super proud of you.
Good work(:
The best of wishes to all your endeavors. Beating tetris is only the beginning :)
So happy for you, young man. Awesome job! 💪🏻
The fact that the two top rivals don't even show any sort of malice of jealousy, but rather appreciation for each other in the competitive scene is a breath of fresh air
I always found speedrunners in general to be surprisingly friendly despite how competitive it could be.
@@cdfactory meanwhile at super smash con…
Most speedrunners are very courteous to their competitors, there would be no thrill without competition, nothing to look forward to or sense of progression.
game recognises game.
@@cdfactoryive always seen them as people who are trying to solve a puzzle together
You know what I LOVE about this? When the two guys are competing and the one dude hears about the other guy, he stops what he is doing and watches the other guys run and genuinely is happy that “he did it” even though technically it meant he lost the race. There is a genuine love of the game there.
And he was so excited!
Instead of jealousy or bitterness, the dude congratulated and was so excited for the kid. An Absolute Legend they both are
It's so wholesome!
This is very common in speedrunning and other extreme hardcore gaming challenges, and it's part of why I got so invested in it. It's so fun and wholesome how at the heart it's a community working together to push the limits.
yeah that got me too. That absolutely giddy clap when his rival hit the killscreen. That brought a tear to my eye.
I love how when he got the crash instead of getting upset, the others freaked out and acted like it was "them vs. Tetris" rather than their competing with each other. Maybe it's an illusion, but damn, seems like the Tetris community is pretty wholesome!
It's always been this way. Being a grandmaster myself, I've always looked up to masters strictly because I know the time sink to become half good on any version. You always have this sense like everyone's almost perfect, but you could be better.
I think it's specifically because it shows others, that it's possible to actually do it without computers and shit.
@@mrtoxicwastelandgrandmaster of what? Being a loser?
The rebirth screen is just like the quote "to reach the end, you must seek the beginning."
The community tuning into his stream to watch him break a record and cheer him on, despite trying to break it themselves, is so wholesome
His closest competitor just putting his own game away to watch.....
I mean to be fair tho like I also would rather be at my defeat than miss a world first ya know
thats most competitors luckily. Most people who are legitimately good at something arent sore losers
That's how it should be. That's what a community is meant to be.
Seeing somebody do exceptionally well at something you are passionate about is just really exciting and very motivating - even if they are competing against you.
The fact the entire community was incredibly happy for him and watching him actually warms my fricken heart
Right, because it's so heartwarming to watch absolute fucking losers in arrested development support each other.
E
It was incredibly wholesome to see them all cheering him on.
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. Wow, who would have thought this game could have so much depth after all those years. Changing colors, crash conditions... love the inpredictability of old games. Great video.
Not a Tetris fan, but this was a awesome documentary. The ending being a rebirth of the game and player was dope.
I like the fact that the other player seems so happy for Scuti while he is supposed to be a "rival". I like the good vibes that this community generates.
The true definition of "friendly rivalry". They love the competition with each other, but also love celebrating when one of their own gains a victory.
I have zero interest in the stuff, not sure why I watched the video, but yes, this was the best thing I noticed. He was happy for his "friend". Good stuff. I will go on record, no human will reach L255.
@@TwoBlueScrewsi know you meant the quotations around "friend" as in rival, but it could also be something else..

I’ve been suffering from unfriendly rivalries for years now. From my own experience, it’s an almost pure western communities problem. I’m glad it’s still different here.
This. Video. Hit. Me.
Firstly, I am an old dude, sitting here on my balcony in the sun, certainly not planning to start my day with a video dealing with beating the only game I thought is unbeatable.
Having had a NES (PAL version) with Tetris as a game by myself as a child and seeing this long-term achievement here is just unbelievable. I did not know that there is this scene out there trying to "complete" this game.
Again, humans are awesome!!
(and CZcams algorithm is crazy!)
Competitive NES tetris is absolutely insane and there's so much going on in it, even right now. People are etching closer and closer to the genuine maximum level, 255, with only a bugged 800 line level blocking them. It's crazy to watch sometimes.
I don't know anything about Tetris or gaming, but I know films (I'm a film critic). This, sir, pulled me in more than any Christopher Nolan movie ever has. Excellently made and so gripping 😊
well thanks for commenting! :)
(the highest I can EVER get to is Level 8,

nobody has gotten that far as to break the game,
so, for a 13-year-old to do it is a big deal in the gaming world)
(it would be like someone outselling the Beatles in album sales in 1 day, just crazy)
It's so cool how the very last level is pure blood red, it gives me "final boss" vibes and it probably wasn't even intentional

Chasing an achievement is what showed us that there was absolutely no toxicity between these gamers. If people came together and worked together to chase down an achievement as great as this one, the majority of all gaming communities would feel amazing to be around. These guys all welcomed each other to succeeding, they congratulated each other, cheered each other on and hyped up one of the greatest things to ever happen. Passion on a level that cannot be touched.
Perhaps I am not interested to play these games at all, and that’s ok! But, I am appreciative of the level of positivity these lads displayed for us, and I really enjoy seeing others succeed, that, I am thankful for. We need more personalities like this everywhere. The kind of people who celebrate success together on a competitive level.
It’s crazy how young these pro classic Tetris players are getting, and they’re all getting better and better
Honestly e-sports have this privilege where most of the pro's just don't seem to stop developing. Maybe it's because of the competiveness that keeps driving the scene idk it's cool to watch though.
It seems kind of like when you are immersed in a language from birth, getting fluent in it is effortless because your brain is just living it and growing around it. Kids these days are born into technology-rich settings where getting as good as you can at a video game as a hobby is no longer seen as a "waste of time" because even some older folks know what e-sports are.
I love it. I am so stoked to see what the stable of top FPS players, speedrunners, and MOBA players looks like in the next ten to fifteen years. Tetris has felt like just the sneak preview.
@@erikeriks Honestly social media revitalised Tetris. It becoming so popular created a new wave of young people with a lot of time and very few responsibilities picking up the game and becoming obscenely good at it. I love how far the Tetris pro scene has come.

I confirm that unlike normal people, Tetris players get younger with time.

The game knows its in a capitalist hell hole, and it bleeds, so it won't be in it much longer....
The thing I love the most about the community is how people are supportive, instead of competitive. Sure, they both went for the record of being the first one to crash, but when Blue won, there wasn’t animosity. There was celebration that it was achieved
Speedrun communities are like this too. It's all very wholesome.
Guitar Hero same idea
This tends to happen in any competition where excelling does not mean your opponent does poorly. Generally things where you compete against yourself and compare to another person. Tetris, speed running, pinball, and competitive board breaking are all very wholesome scenes where the other guy wants to win, but also wants to see you break the record.
@@inthefade Yup. There's a reason why it's very looked down upon to develop techniques in secret then suddenly drop a world record. Speedrunning is about collaboration, not glory.

Honestly, most of us won't play an hour of Tetris, let alone 3-5 hours a day, so the story is a bit odd from this perspective - it's like climbing Everest - we're all impressed, but left wondering why...
I guess it's just because we can - set a mind to a goal, take that journey, and see it happen - it's magical.
@@stephenmontague6930as long as there people resilient enough to push the limist, we will always find new horizons.
It really feels like a fighting sports anime arc. The protagonist starts in the village, wrestling against increasingly difficult local wrestlers. Then the protagonist gets invited to a tournament to fight against pro wrestlers. Then the tournament gets infiltrated by forces of evil. Shady individuals with strange powers are challenging our protagonist. Two of them, nicknamed "Dusk" and "Charcoal" serve as mini-bosses that give the protagonist particularly hard time. Then after a few more battles the final boss appears: "Crimson Demon" (I don't know what it's called, I'm just guessing it's a really cool name) And after finally defeating the final boss and earning the champion's title, the protagonist can go back to his village, where he wrestles some kids for fun.
Stop animefying everything in life.
@@B3RyL you just described a Hero's Journey. A storytelling formula that simply worked for millennia.
The year is 2047.
It's the CTWC quarter finals.
All of the competitors are 11 years old.
TV one is hosting the fierce clash between Competitor A who has crash-dodged successfully to R1 (Rebirth one) and Competitor B, who, in a tragic twist of events, hit a Triple on level 252 causing him to TKS with a slight lead, sure to be lost.
TV two features two of the fiercest competitors, both on R2.
Chris Tang has tragically lost his voice over the 7 hours of quarter-final play and must resort to a button that shouts, "BOOM, Tetris" whenever he presses it
08:04 This guy's scary face still haunts me in my nightmares ...
Love the music by HOME :) amazing video!
Yo Scuti, on behalf of the danish Tetris community that some people i know is a part of, i want to congratulate you on your December win. By the responses some of my old gamer friends had im glad I wasn't at the arcade that my mate owns because the noise would have been insane.. But everyone that has dabbled in gaming since the late 80's and early 90s knows where your joy came from. We've all been there.. Im not on my friends level, but I still remember how I felt when beating my Wolverine game on my PS3. It was insane. And i used to have a Tetris and Pong clone on my Amiga 600 so i remember the old 8 bit games too. Cant. Wait to see what you'll do next regarding Tetris. Cheers from Denmark. 😏
Fractal actually stopping and watching and his reaction to the win... thats so wholesome to see
Hello, are you saved by Christ yet?
The fact the game straight up turns fully blood-red and then proceeds to reset is just the kind of scary thing you actually CANNOT make up. For real that shit made me SHIVER
Creepypasta energy. No one could make it more spooky than it being real though.
Things like that were quite common on the ZX Spectrum and C64, C16. Some of those game ending screens were the creepiest things and it could be a game where your just moving a square over holes.
maybe because in the RGB color pattern, the red is 0,and maybe it worked with rgb colors so the cubes couldn't even change colors
Poetic
I literally felt the same thing...👻 🖥️
It’s absolutely nice to know that these guys can beat the game. I didn’t even know you could beat the game. I thought it might be possible, but I didn’t know you could glitch it out so it’s nice to know, but I’m not quick enough for that. I wish I was, I’m happy to know that they are people who actually beat that game and I commend you for taking it to that level of play
This was brilliant. Human and machine coming together in the end. So poetic.
Fractal's reaction to bluescuti's crash was actually so heart warming. I didnt expect him to be excited
my guess is that every speedrunner knows that what they do is due to the collective effort/knowledge of their community. Like when one speedrunner figures out a trick, they freely explain it to everyone else.
Even though it seems inconceivable due to the sheer endurance it would take, doesn't the "Rebirth" screen imply that there will always be a new milestone by the possibility of reaching the previous milestones twice over? Or does the game crash when it reaches the rebirth screen?
Edit: Beautiful video, excellent storytelling, visuals, sound and editing. This made me so happy to see a gaming community I didn't even realize existed thrive like never before. And such great sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Big respect! Fantastic video.
I knew nothing about the Tetris community before watching this. The last couple minutes gave me chills. What a story.
I didn't know either. I still don't know how it's played! I'm such a dolt.
@@davidhunternyc1"I'm such a dolt🥰" lmao
I too didn't know anything about the Tetris community before watching this. But it did not give me chills, I still find it pretty boring.
I really can't enjoy speed run things. It requires loads of time and effort just to achieve something that in most cases doesn't provide anything concrete.
@@webrevolution. Every person has fun in their own way. If you find something boring it doesn't mean other people find it boring as well. I don't find Tetris interesting either. But I find anything about Minecraft interesting. Just like how a guy that likes football finds anything about football interesting. It's all about your interests tbh.
@@nightxrage2957 I think the first part of your message is pretty useless. I did not need to be reminded people have different interests. It's obvious and I did not say that everyone should think the same way I do. I just talked about myself personally and I am fine even if most other people don't feel the same.
Anyways what I was arguing is that speed running this game does not provide with anything concrete or positive that I personally know of. So yeah, same goes for watching football, it's not that I find that any better than this Tetris thing. But at least there is a difference with football cause if you practice it then you actually improve physically in ways that are measurable. Your body does change in a positive way. It's not the same for Tetris, where playing or watching is pretty much the same level of usefulness, which is low imho.
It makes me smile that they are all so happy for each other. This is a great video.
A gaming community that isn't toxic lol
None of them are working against each other. They're all working against Tetris. Beautiful stuff.
Yep makes a change from all the hate flying around. Uplifting even if you're not a Tetris player.
Randomnly saw this in my feed at 3am, watched it and this has to be one of the craziest things I've seen. The fact that people do this is just crazy. Just insane madness. Tetris suddenly looks kind of scary to me.
Amazing video. Congrats on the well deserved 10M
this was excellent; love the name, Rebirth Screen
Yooo Leonhart
Yo hi!
In Norway, beating a video game is called «rounding» it, probably because in many early games you went back to the start, for example in super mario. It seems like the true beating of tetris is indeed rounding it
Leonhart!!!!!!
@@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist5 I don't know if your realize this, but you're pushing people away from your religion by trying to spread it in completely irrelevant comment sections. It's very annoying, please stop.
i love how they are competing against each other but they all get so hyped up and happy when the other guy makes it. Truly a wholesome community
It's cuz once one does it they feel like they all made it and that is because they all learn from each other so they know that with enough practice they can make it as well
That was a brilliantly video mate 👍
Great video, this is really cool stuff
