If any religion is trying to prove anything supernatural in the domain of empirical reality , trying to peddle pseudo science then that religion must be discarded thoroughly ....While if any religion is touching those points that science doesn't bother to touch should be taken seriously...E.g Science doesn't teach liberation ( dissolution of ego self) ....Science doesn't talk about nature of pure consciousness....What neuro science is trying to find is source of consciousness of a living person....But it can never teach you why consciousness should be the only identity of the human and not the body....Science will never teach you rationalisation of ethics and love ( the true love that is detachment from clinginess in the observed world and not attachment)... Advaita Vedanta philosophy deals with all of these ...And discards god , heaven , hell as just illusion of mind....Listen to acharya prashant on Vedant , Ashtavakra Gita , Bhagwat gita... Ashtavakra Gita clearly discards heaven, hell and all bullshits...And focuses on Truth only....

Same here,my parents feel me questioning religion is just a phase of my young age but as i grow old and start feeling lonely i will start loosing my rationality and believe without evidence. I really hope i never lose my rationality even when I am old as that is who defines who i am. I believe only what has evidence or the possibility of evidence like aliens existence r a possibility but u can't say for certain whether aliens exist or don't,so i am agnostic when it comes to the belief of aliens as any extraordinary claims would require extraordinary evidence. When it comes to the god which Einstein believed i am agnostic atheist as God is an extraordinarily claim without evidence, but i have no evidence to disprove god either. Hence i am agnostic atheist towards the diestic god which Einstein believed.
But When it comes to Christianity,Islam, Hinduism and Judaism i am atheist. Now bcz i am atheist and not agnostic atheist, the burden of proof lies on me that their gods don't exist ,and the biggest proof i have is their own scriptures which goes against scientific theories and provides extraordinary claims without evidence.

Dont call it stupidity, I am an agnostic, and surely do not believe in any religion. But the point of god is debated because it means different things to different people, for most, the concept has been their last hope, and hence they accept it as it is, you would be having something of your own. Disrespecting someone's ideas and emotions is not being rational in anyway!

It looks like your rationalism has told you that Muhammad buying and selling women and children and ordering the rape of captured married non-Muslim women in war and Muslims feeling proud about it, is less of a problem than for you than Muslims denying evolution. Your rationalism has allowed you to justify slavery and hold All Muslims responsible for denying evolution rather than glorifying slavery legalised and practised by Muhammad. It is better not to be a rationalist like you if rationalism teaches you that slavery is less of a problem than denying evolution.

    • @noelrodrigues8179
      @noelrodrigues8179 Před rokem +13

@sm2411there r many logical fallacies in your comment.
motherland is a concept that exist within countries, like russia, india,Iran, turkey don't mix nationality with religion. Secondly many religions never expanded bcz they never had the opportunity to. Take buddhism as an example, it expanded in South Asia but couldn't survive in India as it was wipped out by ancient Indian kings.U could argue that those ancient kings like ashoka expanded Hinduism by wipping out buddhism in India. Today there r many organizations that r expanding Hinduism in the west as well. So yeh ur defination of motherland in Hinduism is quite subjective by saying Hinduism doesn't expand. Similarly many white guys believe in Judaism and Christianity, but the origins of these religions r from the middle East. So if Judaism didn't expand how is it that most Jews r white.Same logic applies for Christianity.
Secondly Science is not built on believes or assumptions but evidence that can be tested, yes hypothesis also exist which is still based on evidence. What do u mean by rationalist u met r scared of alliens? How is the universe conscious, consciousness is related to biology, while study of universe is related to physics u can't just put two words from seperate domain of science into one word? And how is Stephen Hawking supporting your argument.

He did make a very good point though , but it can be logically deconstructed easily.
      His point:
Muslims shouldn't be waiting for the theory of evolution to be 100% true rather they should accept it , as it is ' beyond reasonable doubt ' while giving the example of the court room.
Question is , Who defines what is reasonable and what's not? As something being reasonable differs from person to person❔❔❔❔
      Let me explain it.
Even if we , just for the argument's sake accept that theory of evolution can be beyond reasonable doubt , even then it is not unreasonable for Muslims to reject it specially when Muslims have these 2 Tennets
      1st:
when they are coming with a very strong , logical and rational bias(God existing and Islam being true) against it because The bar of something being reasonable differs from person to person and from their biases to biases and to non biases
      and
      2nd:
The bar of something being reasonable also differs depending upon what's at stake for the observer (as For Muslims Islam and Even God's existence is at stake so the bar of it being reasonable is higher than for an atheist who doesn't have anything at stake here)
Example of first tennet(having a rational bias against something considered being beyond reasonable doubt by the atheists)🫴:
It was first reasonable for the judge to accuse Mr y for murder because he had video evidence against Mr y and Mr y being present and running from the scene.
But now after some months the judge is kidnapped and the kidnappers place him in a room where some illegal software engineers are editing someone's video in a very realistic manner to prove him guilty of murder and they can also capture anyone's finger prints to use it on the murder scene and the judge saw it all and then the judge eventually got released from them after the judge's family pays kidnappers money.
Now after some months the judge is faced with a similar situation in which someone is accused of murder and there's a video evidence against him just like mr y was proven guilty but now the judge doesn't give his verdict and says it's not clear that this man is the murderer because the bar of the reasonability of previous case in which Mr y was found guilty on a video tape has been increased because of a rational bias The judge has after being kidnapped ,
Proving that it's not unreasonable for Muslims to doubt the theory of evolution because of the strong rational bias of Islam being true , they have!
Example of 2nd tennet(The bar of reasonability is increasing due to what's at stake)🫴:
Imagine there's a big black cloud of smoke at location x and sounds of screams are coming from it and fire fighter trucks 📢are going towards it
Now if someone says to me while I am observing it ' I will ask you a question and you have to answer and that question is , that , Is there a fire? And if you answer correctly I will give you a brand new car '
Now it's beyond reasonable doubt for me to say anything other than ' yes there is a fire for sure '
But the questioner increases what's at stake for this question for me and says ' If you answer it incorrectly , I will kill you and if you choose to go your way without answering the question I will let you go '
Now What's at stake for me to answer what something was ' beyond reasonable doubt ' a little while ago has increased and now I am doubting if there's actually a fire or is it a film's shooting scene?
Now the bar of something being reasonable has increased , because my life is at stake and it's reasonable for me to doubt the previous case of fire , given that , I as a Muslim know Islam is at stake in this , as compared to an atheist who doesn't have anything at stake and may believe anything!
Conclusion: You can't accuse Muslims of denying something which is ' beyond reasonable doubt ' for the atheists by comparing them to Muslims , as Muslims have a strong , logical and Rational bias against it and that , what's at stake for Muslims to accept the theory of evolution is far greater than an atheist who can believe in anything!

      1. Science is constantly changing. The most prominent scientists today can be proven completely wrong in the future. The Quran doesn't change as we believe it to be the direct word of God.
      2. Science can never explain how humans possess so much more intelligence compared to other animals. According to science humans evolved from apes but humans possess more intellectual capability than all the 20 species of apes combined. Infact, humans probably possess more intelligence than all the animal species combined. How can such an anomaly be explained through mere science, humans must truly be special, different from all animal species.
      3. According to Pew research center, Atheists, agnostics, and other people who do not affiliate with any religion will make up a declining share of the world’s total population in the near future. So contrary to popular belief, atheism/agnosticism is on the decline globally.

@@_Arsh_x9 What are you talking about? Theory of evolution is based upon assumptions of random mutations which is an atheistic nonsense , first prove atheism then look at science with the lens of Atheism!

@sm2411 My brother, you've missed the point of this video as your complaining about the very things that he very clearly talked in this video, so let me address both of your points, and let me know if I misunderstood something-
1} I don't believe religion is idiotic, nor do I believe science is dope because it has theories and theorems!
I only believe in evidence, science is a body knowledge and for any claim to be part of it needs to have evidence supporting it, and on the basis of evidence theories are made, to further understand and predict the phenomenon!
But on the other hand religion doesn't provide any evidence for what it says, now I'm not being biased here or ignoring evidence provided by religion, it is simply that the so-called evidence are already criticised & proven false.
2} ‘You said, scientist and archaeologists keep changing things, and are not sure but religious texts have not changed for thousands of years!’
I mean brother, science is a body of knowledge and it is continuously evolving on the basis of new things that are constantly being found or understood, and as Pranav said in the video, “do you want knowledge that never improves and stays the same, or do you want knowledge that improves, and updates itself with every new thing you learn?”

Who needs to consult actual experts or conduct rigorous scientific research when you have the word of a non-scientist to rely on? It's not like the principles of evolution have any significant impact on our understanding of the world around us, right?

There are a few points I want to mention:
      1. Subboor Ahmad had debated some of the top atheists on this topic. Watch his debate with Aron Ra and Cosmic Skeptic.
      2. Science is constantly changing. The most prominent scientists today can be proven completely wrong in the future. The Quran doesn't change as we believe it to be the direct word of God.
      4. According to Pew research center, Atheists, agnostics, and other people who do not affiliate with any religion will make up a declining share of the world’s total population in the near future. So contrary to popular belief, atheism/agnosticism is on the decline globally.

Just because your holy book is very sacred to you, it doesn't make it immune to errors, misconceptions, prejudices and unscientific facts. Nor does it prevents your book or religion from criticism. The theory of evolution should not even be a necessary topic of debate anymore. There is ample evidence to support it, and it has been tried and tested time and again. Sure, improvements will come and go, but the basic principle of evolution of species is undoubtedly correct as per the evidence, or rather, I should say on par with our observations of various organisms.

You are just an inferiority complexed person !
What are you blabbering about? Theory of evolution is based upon assumptions of random mutations which is an atheistic nonsense , first prove atheism then look at science with the lens of Atheism!

As a Muslim, firstly thank you for your criticism as I believe any criticism is a welcome opportunity to flesh out beliefs. Although I disagree with the fundamentals of this video, I do understand its points. However, I still believe that you missed the point of the Muslim video and absolutely disagree with the title of this video that delivers the notion that we just turn a ‘blind eye’ to anything “obvious”. There is nothing obvious about evolution or any widely accepted theories. They can always be fallible no matter how certain we get. A lot of the fallacies within this video, for example, comes from the fact that you and the Muslim video come with two totally different frameworks. Your fundamentals align with the fact that any empirical idea (such as any belief) is never set in stone or certain, the Islamic view upholds the certainty that Allah swt exists and has created everything however told through the Quran. This belief in Allah swt is derived from fitra (predisposed indisposition that there is a higher power), signs (which are subjective which have credibility to the human experience), transparency of the preservation of knowledge (the process of keeping credible data and Hadiths), miracles (how the revelation came to our beloved prophet SAW), imaan (faith), and Aql (reasoning w intelligence); All of these being stated in the Quran. Your ideas are derived from pure scientific observation which has a wider consensus of reasoning among many faiths but holds no certainty besides laws. In other words muslims believe that there are concepts that are set in stone which exist in objective reality. Science simply tries to describe that objective reality with the scientific method and reasoning. That being said: you look at the muslim video as a complete utter refutation of evolution when it aims for another purpose: the theory of evolution is not valid or certain enough to shake our fundamental religious concepts of creationism. The statements at the end of this video only reaffirms your misunderstanding of Islamic reasoning. Our “empirical ideas set in stone” were not just derived or believed from us laying around waiting for a miracle in this age. It is derived from those fundamental concepts which I have mentioned earlier. You neglect our reasoning and credibility as to why we believe in God and creationism. Our video simply states that evolution is not strong enough to challenge or shake our notion. Be it Darwinian evolution or modern synthesis (which Darwinian evolution provides an integral base in reconciling with Mendelian genetics), they do not suffice in credibility with the evidence or hypotheses.
    Take care.

Science is based on curiousity and religion is based on faith. And we don't need to mix them. Religion is a way of life and science is just a part of human urge for knowledge and understand things. Humans are very good at compartemntalization as we see everyday. I dont understand why some muslims have to use science for supporting Islam. The Islamic creed is enough to satisfy my intellect and yes I definitely have to keep blind faith too on some matters but most of the time it never came in my way for my love for science more over it was very much in line as the Quran asks us to question and reason. 1. 01:10 He mentions under condition (strong indoctrination) that one doesn't apply logic to their religion and are emotionally attached hence won't change due to emotional barrier. (Stop straw manning, atheism is not a religion. Most atheist families don't even talk about atheism let alone talk about other religion to indoctrinate against them)
      2. 2:37 Modern synthesis has four parts random genetic drift, gene flow, mutation pressure and natural selection. So, if math is correct Darwinism is less than 25% of modern synthesis of evolution.
      3. 3:56 Yes you are right, plasmids do transfer horizontally, it is great argument but for mutation theory not natural selection. 3:08 Pranav is giving evidence for natural selection not mutation theory. And he meant to say in simple words that the bacteria without antibiotic resistance (unfit) die and bacteria with resistance survive and multiply and then some resistance bacteria can also give resistance to other germs (according to the cdc of USA).
      4. Macroevolutions does have evidence of abruptly found fossils in time scale and remarkably similar DNA from prior species.
      5. 7:26 Natural selection does not act only on mutations, it happens due to gene flow (exotic gene entering population which optimizes life or does various kinds of chemistry to make it likable), preference to one characteristic when it comes to mating etc.
      6. Mutations happen all the time due to high frequency radiation. Cancer is also a cause of some mutations, so are genetic disorders. (Also how did your intelligent designer make such a huge mistake (genetic disorders), they could have optimized reproduction, couldn't they? Unless they don't exist.) Also didn't y chromosome shrank some time ago?
      7. 8:44 Nature has a very optimized way of deciding which mutations are good, that is survival and reproduction. You survive better you reproduce more spreading genes aka natural selection.
      8. 10:45 If you say that the god has created the universe? fine. If you say god came to earth to form organisms? fine. If you say that the god repeatedly came on earth to form life? Not so fine. As I am afraid you are believing in much weaker god, as they have to repeatedly visit earth to create organisms. A more intelligent creature would have just created an algorithm and started it at the start of the universe to make organisms aka abiogenesis and evolution. Also, you are the first one speaking of multiple visits of god no one ever mentioned it and probably not even your unfallacifiable Quran.

And what's the alternative? A book written way too long ago in a desert in the Middle East, which has no relation to science? I'm not against any religious beliefs, but when you mix it with science, you get a harmful cocktail. And even more so when some people believe it to be superior to science in teaching us about the world.

Islam is the perfect religion which is in itself based upon science, nothing is against Islam if you understand science carefully.
Anyway theories had been changing every time.
Back in the days scientists believe that organic matter can't be prepared in a laboratory and people like you or so called "scientific " Believe that it's 101% correct but that theory was proven wrong and urea was prepared in lab for the first time by that scientist's pupil.
You can observe so many theories had changed by scientists over the time.

@@InvinciblePepe The GDP of India in 1800 was $177 billion while in 1950 it was $339 billion, ie, average $258 billion in today's prices at PPP. So, the aggregate GDP for 1950-1800=150 years was $258x150=$38,700 billion or $38.7 trillion. Since the entire GDP of
the Subcontinent for the 150 years was less than the alleged $45 Trillion, it is unlikely that the British stole 45 out of 38.7 trillion USD. All the figures cited above are at the current prices and, not the then prevalent prices. Thus, both the Nominal
GDP and the GDP at PPP were much less than that, both, more so the Nominal GDP. For instance, the Nominal GDP of India in 1950 was barely $21 billion, not $337 billion. Now, as regards the Aggregate GDP over the 150 years of British Rule @ $38.7 trillion, the Per Capita GDP was barely at the Subsistence Level. So, out of the $38.7 trillion, most must have gone towards the
subsistence by way of food, clothes, houses, healthcare, education etc. Thus, how much was left by the populace to pay the taxes is anybody's guess.

    • @jeanettewee8805
      @jeanettewee8805 Před rokem +1

@@InvinciblePepe It has come to light that the widely cited figure of 45 trillion dollars, attributed to the economic losses suffered by India due to British colonization, was calculated by Marxist economist UTSA Patnaik. However, it has been criticized that her method of compounding the loot taken by Britishers at a 5% interest rate is flawed and inaccurate, especially considering that the inflation rate during the 1950s was at a lower 3.68% interest rate. Furthermore, it has been reported that the total amount of loot calculated using this flawed method amounted to approximately 9 trillion pounds, which was then converted to dollars by multiplying again with 4.68. It is also noteworthy to mention that Patnaik has made unsubstantiated and highly controversial claims regarding the number of people killed by the British in India, which she estimates to be as high as 1.8 billion. Interestingly, this claim has been largely ignored by mainstream media channels such as Vice and Wion. Unfortunately, such misleading and inaccurate claims are not uncommon in India, with stories of the Vikramaditya Empire controlling 40% of the world's land, the existence of the internet during the Vedic period, and the alleged invention of airplanes 7000 years ago being among them. Another example is the claim that Shivakar Talpade invented the airplane eight years before the Wright Brothers, and that the British stole his idea. It is important to note that such claims are not substantiated by credible evidence and should be scrutinized with a critical eye.
