For those of you who have watched the channel for a while, you know that we do #sunriseanddonuts in fun locations all of the US, and this tradition for our family has spread to our FOS community! Thank you to everyone who has tagged us in photos of you guys getting outside to watch the sunrise with coffee and donuts and making lasting memories for your family!
A while ago some subscribers contacted us and invited us to come make donuts at their donut shop. This summer we finally made it through Iowa and had to stop and check out what the Howard family, owners of 3 Hurts Donuts franchises, was all about.
Right off the bat, we all hit it off as the brothers whose families own the shops together are both former military, and one of the wives went to college right down the road from where Jess attended! It was also such a sweet reminder of when Corey and his older brother had shops right next to each other, and our families were together almost every day!
We thought we were going to go in and maybe ice some donuts…add some sprinkles maybe? NOPE! We were thrown right in to making some of our most favorite donuts: cinnamon rolls and apple fritters! The girls are natural bakers and were offered jobs right away whileJess may have been banned from the donut “depositor”! 😂
We spent the entire day in their sweet donut shop learning how every single kind of donut was made, and they even humored Corey and made an FOS Special donut: a Bismarck like the ones we love from Tony’s Donuts in Portland, Me!
We sadly said our goodbyes and headed off toward our next adventure with the RV overflowing with fresh made donuts! Thank you so very much to the Howard Family for their generocity, their amazing teaching skills, and the best snacks we have ever had!

My wife's family celebrates Fastnacht Day (just before Lent) when we make donuts. We passed this delicious tradition down to our kids.

Now THAT'S a dream come true. How fun. My grandma used to make donuts and my brother learned how to make them from her. They were so delicious. The donut holes were so yummy. I really enjoyed the video.

FYI: Speaking of casino RV parks-The Mill Casino RV parking is excellent in Coos Bay Oregon if you're ever on the coast. Awesome view of the bay. Quite, peaceful, safe, and clean.
You're here in Iowa! You're discovering why we're known as "Iowa Nice"!! We got some doughnuts the other day from their Des Moines store!
Casinos are one of my favorite places to Boondock, even though I don’t gamble.
They usually have good security and parking lot patrols, clean bathrooms and usually a nice restaurant, a cafe, and a snack bar. So you can decide what & how you want to eat.

Here is my first comment I know you guys are Lippert spokespersons have followed your channel for a long time ! we are having a Real problem with Lippert fixing our 2022 GD 2910, Coming across Denver July 20233 had some bad roads and broke the rear leaf spring shackles ! July and now September still sitting ! Est Was 800$ Now 4000 $ Don't know where to turn ! Just want it Fixed ! Thanks Kelly
The leaf spring or the shackles broke? Either one is $100 in parts and an hr labor, double that to do it right and do both sides. Sounds like more is wrong? 4K sounds strange, if it’s warrantee who cares if it’s out of pocket take it somewhere else. What your describing should cost $500 or $200 if you do it yourself.

Looks like y'all had a lot of fun! I worked in a bakery for a year when I was a Senior in High School. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!😅😅 It was hard work but it was fun. It also cured me of my sweet tooth. 😂
In all your travels, I can't believe y'all have never had a Kolache! Those are a serious staple here in Texas, especially the jalapeño and cheese sausage ones! Yum!

Now I wish I had stopped at the one in Bettendorf when I was there in June visiting my daughter in Dubuque. I saw the name and laughed. I was going to stop but was on a mission for other things. I'm not a big fan of donuts, or sweets in general, but I am (in my own opinion, hahaha) a master of yeasted doughs, especially breads, sweet or not. My personal tastes in bakery goods run to cream horns, bear claws, with an occasional single bit of an eclair. My mom used to make deep fried donuts before our family went on camping trips and because she knew I wasn't a big fan of anything sugary, she would leave a portion unglazed for me. Great video, brought back lots of memories for me. Baking your own bread from scratch is a very rewarding experience, if you ever want to give it a try, let me know, I can give you tips and recipes. Once you eat bread you made yourself, you'll never go back to store-bought!

I make no knead baked donuts at home, and homemade bread (required kneading).
These donuts are better than those purchased at the grocery store for snacking with coffee while looking at mountains.
