    Just changed my compressor today. 2002 204000 miles. The compressor didn’t have loose parts rattling so my fingers are crossed it’s not Black Death. Definitely A/C maintenance is in my opinion best left to the pros like RB.

    I have a 97 CRV could that be the problem why mine it's not cold enough that traffic light both fans are going but once I get driving it gets cool again

      @@TheOtherG yup I’m just replacing it now at 130,000KMS, I’ve maybe put a grand into the car since I’ve owned it. I heard the older ones are very reliable as well

      @@kurtis295 sameee lol i spent that much too. i had to change the water pump and the ac compressor 😭 do you have any issues after 100 mph? lol. would you ever fix the transmission? i would i think mainly cus it’s still cheaper than leasing out the car 😭 kinda feels like a pimp my ride moment here tbh

    If you have a 02-06 it's easier to remove the front grill front bumper passenger headlight condenser and loosen the radiator to get to the compressor

      Thanks. Good look at taking mine out from above after loosening the subframe bolts still did not allow enough clearance for my compressor to be removed

    Do you usually change the dryer filter and expansion valve or just the compressor should be fine? I’m about to change my compressor and just wondering if I should do those as well. Thanks. Great video.

      No I never change that but I do a full service with ac machine which recovers all oil and refrigeration and then vaccum and recharge

    Thanks for the vid my compressor is dead. I would like to get the Denso, but that part number you showed says it does not fit my 2002 Honda CRV and Denson parts lookup says they do not make one for mine. If not Denson who would you recommend. I don't want to go cheap, or reman. Thanks

      Well I recovered all the r134 but it dose still have oil in it u can see how I removed conpressor it leaked out

    I’ve heard that the Denso brand is the best, but I can’t find it for a Honda CRV 2005.

      @@RBTheMechanic Men, I’ve been looking everywhere for the Denso ones, but I think they are out of stock for the 05 CRV’s. Apparently, they are not producing old parts any more and focusing on the newer car models.
      I’ll give 4 season a shot then. Thanks for the fast response, lesson on how to install it and the info. 🙌🏽

    Great video. So you didn't have to drop the subframe to swap out the compressor? I have a 2003. I think I have to drop the subframe about an inch to get it out?

      No you don’t I did those as well before I started utube should be very very much same and u can slide it out by the tire side area

      Similar but set up is diffrent and Freon I believe is diffrent or same I think but job is very much alike

    06 Honda crv I need to pull compressor. RB. I’m getting mixed messages how to take out. Some are saying to drop subframe is this true.? If not can you tell another detail way? Thank you

      U do t need to drop the frame u prolly can slider it out other wise if there’s not enough room u might have to loosen the frame up a bit. Just be safe. And 100% no need to drop the frame

      I made a mistake RB it’s an 03 Honda CRV not a 06. Will I still be able to pull that out of there all three without dropping subframe?

      Might be low Freon that need servicing for ac systm

      I got this from my local parts store u can check with Autozone or pepboys anyways did u confirm it’s bad compressor? Make sure u change fuse and relay

    The Denso ac compressor comes with oil already in it , why did you have to put oil again ?🤭

    This dose not work on 02-08 Honda crv you have to drop the sub frame

      U can loosen the frame a bit and drop it few inches but process is same

      @@RBTheMechanic no you got to completely remove the front two bolts and loosen the rear two and completely remove the front Bolt from the motor mount then you can lower the front of the frame low enough to get the compressor out

      @Bruce Wayne on that year you can just lower the frame a little bit as long as the suspension isn't completely shot

      @Bruce Wayne I still think it's easier though to take it out from the top it takes less time but I guess it's preference for those years I still remove them from the top though

      @Bruce Wayne you will need to remove the front grill undo the condenser and loosen the radiator but yes it can be done or you can try to drop the subframe a little bit it depends on your preference
