Any time you remove a component of the AC system that can hold oil, be sure to dump and measure the PAG oil from each component. Your new compressor will come with a full system charge of PAG. Dump all that new PAG out of the new compressor and only put back in the amount of new PAG that matches the amount of old oil that was measured coming out of the other components. Otherwise, you don’t have any idea how much PAG you have in the system and the only way to figure it out is to completely flush every component with AC flush and add in the recommended amount.
Thank so much for all the great videos, Jon. You’re my EF hero!

Now my question is; did you have any idling issues when you turn off ac? I have notice that when i turn off ac my rmp drops low and sometimes it stops the engine. I cleaned the iac valve and nothing changed. But it only happens when i turn off ac, plus is not blowing cold air anyway. Do you think the ac compressor is putting extra load because is not working? my 01 crv lx is having an issue where when i go past 40 mph the temperature gauge starts to rise going past the 2 water waves/close to the red mark but when i bring the mph back to 40 or below the temperature goes back down and to the normal half way mark. My fans turn on but only when i turn the ac on. Are they suppose to come on by them selves and if they are is this an indicator that my fan switch needs to be replaced or is it the fans? Checked for a blown head gasket and the test came out negative, the top hose is hot and the lower one is cool. Thats suppose to indicate that my thermostat works right? I think my water pump does work but what would be a symptom if it didn't work? My crv is at 147k miles. Im confused as to why my crv just started to randomly rise on the temperature gauge... Any help is appreciated

@@GarageBuiltHondas Im contemplating about going to the junkyard and getting a new compressor but should i also take the drier and condensor that it has with it ?

I personally wouldn't use junkyard components unless it was your only option. Those parts usually are worn out too. You'll waste more time/energy installing or getting them installed than with new parts.

@@GarageBuiltHondas I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO SPEND 350 FOR A COMPRESSOR I JUST NEED A TEMPORARY FIX FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER I WAS JUST WONDERING IF I SHOULD TAKE OUT THE WHOLE SYSTEM OUT AS ONE PIECE LIKE THE LINES DRIER AND CONDENSER WITH THE COMPRESSOR

I try to explain to my friend about having to vacuum the system to get the coolant in. They don't listen so I tell them to put a glass over there mouth and blow. Tell me how much air you can push into the glass.....zero 😅🤣😂

@@GarageBuiltHondas I hope you can reply. Same situation but I noticed you didnt put the oil in the system...Can you explain? Im guessing you did something off camera cuz that system would be shot in a day or so without it

My compressor already came pre-installed with oil. I believe I mentioned it earlier in the video.

I have a 99 Crv and it's works perfectly fine except for one thing. The car violently shakes when I have the AC on at a red light! Works ok while I drive but when I stop, it's a goddamn party.. LOL. I have to immediately turn off the A/C because the car won't stop revving HARD when a/c is on..

Check to see if the AC clutch is in need of replacement.
