    things that I'm excited about:
    - couch coop
    - wasd movement/twin stick
    - radiance cascade SSGI
    - weapon swapping
    - instant trading with gold making price-fixing a lot harder
    - skills being all 6L making niche skills a lot more usable (e.g. in the latest showcase we see a snipe-like spell being used against a boss)
    - bosses looking interesting, the level 2 boss has more mechanics than D4 act bosses (though that's not that big of a compliment tbh, D4 bosses are on par with magic legends)
    - mobs respawning on player death making going back not boring.

Rhykker would never talk about PoE 2 right now ;))))))))))))) In all seriousness, thanks for crediting me, I appreciate it.

I'm excited for new weapons and transformations. But even more so excited for minion mechanics. Just spitballing, but:
    1) mobility of spear and shield with backline minions.
    2) crossbow with frontline minions.
    3) beast transformations with animal minions.
Not enough info yet to go into detail. But my playstyle is commander. Splitting role between minions and myself. Usually strengthening my minions and weakening the enemies. Either initiating the conflict or having minions initiate.
Of course what skills affect minions will matter a lot in these descisions.

As a minion enthusiast myself, I'm also excited for the ability to command a horde. The potential thought of using minions to open doors, or position at certain spots (almost like totems) would be incredible! It's going to be a summoner's dream as a game (if all other QOL are as equally well thought out).

A long time ago Mark talked about PoE1 becoming messy numberwise over time, so that balancing hp and does for players and monsters was difficult, and that by making PoE2 they could reset all the numbers. So i can imagine we no longer have the PoE1 random one shots (that made me play way way less now) and that most classes or characters will be able to get decent dps and ehp.

I don't think I'll play POE2 :). I like that they split the games up.

The thing that excites me the most about PoE2 is intentionality of archetypes. They want to make everything distinct, especially between melee weapon types like spear vs mace.
There are way too many builds and setups in PoE1 where if they sat down for 10 seconds to figure out what makes them tick, they'd be able to make a whole new league start idea function, such as Varunastra, Bow Poison, Dagger Melee, channelling skills. Sadly, they doubled down on raising the ceiling and leaving many potential setups in the dust because they'll never be lategame relevant.
Now in PoE2 they want every weapon type to have its own significant draws and make the choice of weapon swap significant, and a LOT of it looks like all of the missed potential of PoE1's systems.

The only thing I so far am hyped for it is the transforming skills the rest is hard to get hyped for cause I simply dont know how it feels like to play.
Wait and try is what my mind is telling me to do when it comes to poe2.

Hot take, you can guess poe players' age by how excited they are about poe2. It's kinda obvious that people who are over the top about it are either streamers, or sub 30YO, or both. (the opposite isn't necessarily true though)
I just finished jonathan interview with gazzy and wannabe-ginger-asmonbald, two key features they discussed that I'm kinda hyped to play around are the 'unique' support gem system (only one instance of a support gem) and the variable starting areas in the passive skill tree. The former being a great idea, and the later being more on the iffy side I want to test out to see if it actually works.
Other than that I'm just fed up with playing a live-service-always-online game in maintenance mode. If PoE2 doesn't suit my tastes and GGG doesn't want to step up their game again with PoE1, I can just hope they'll offer an offline option with modding support or I'll have to play last epoch. I don't know.

I'm for the most part with you. You and I both know though that the thought of offline modable POE has zero chance of happening until POE becomes a dead entity as openware. It's still a highly lucrative franchise (ugh, I hate even word and associating with POE, just feels weird).

Personally pretty hard to be excited for a game that has showed me content for 1% if that of my play time. So can't really say much until we see maps and beyond.
I do think the new aura system could be cool. The new gem system looks great. An AH could be good maybe.
Not looking forward to bosses personally. I am a mapper not a boss killer so them being more impactful in terms of time, drops, and challenge just seems annoying. I do like big challenging bosses that you do rarely or often if you are into that but not every 10 mins in the story or every map in end game.
Everything else gets a shrug who could say if it will be good or not.

I am not excited about PoE 2. At best very cautious about it. The only things are I am really excited about are possible improvements that should come to PoE 1 like shared market, instant trading, etc. etc.

The fact it almost seems like a reset before PoE got stupid. I was a beta gold supporter of PoE and loved the game those first few years but I hate what it turned into.
The somewhat slower pace ( though will it last) and a chance to reset the nonsense is what I'm looking forward to most.
Edit: not needing to ever do those fucking acts again either 😅

    • @GoodGuyGaming3
      @GoodGuyGaming3  Před 3 měsíci

But the new acts will simply eventually become like the old acts right? In 3-5 years what is stopping the POE 2 community from crying out for "an alternative way to level characters during new leagues because we've played the POE 2 acts for 20+ leagues straight". It'll be interesting for sure.
Have you played Ruthless at all?

    • @satibel
      @satibel Před 3 měsíci +1

The time to clear isn't much slower but the time to kill is thanks to all the mobility, which imo is great.
Though speaking about acts, I have reservations about having to kill all the bosses in the acts for buffs, that might become tedious after a few leagues.
I don't mind doing the campaign, the main issue is that it gets boring when there's no changes and the league mechanic is overtuned so doing it just slows you down
(But maybe not every buff will be necessary, like if a lot of them are build specific, we may not need to kill all of the optional bosses.)
