    Got the equivalent Embolden E+ Pro to my wife and that was an excellent move!

    Completely honest review. It's nice to hear someone not afraid to criticize where needed without coming off as elitist and snobby.

    I have been interested in the non-E version of this thing cause it's so cheap, sounds like it would be a very solid bike with the updates to it. Some people online are wary of the flexpoint suspension, but it sounds like it works really well.

    • @bikersedge
      @bikersedge  Před 6 měsíci

      It's certainly not the most refined suspension feel, but it gets the job done.

      Usually new models say new next to them. Otherwise it can be tricky with them as they don’t do model years. You can check geometry.

    Impressive it has an 800wh battery however for the market this is targeting, perhaps 600ish would have made more sense, making bike even cheaper and lighter.

    • @bikersedge

      @timcoleman3421 Před 11 dny

      The average mountain biker only rides 10-20 miles at a time. At least that’s what I see in my area. Seems like a 600 battery would be more than enough for 80% of riders.

    • @bikersedge

    How does suspensions design impact price??? That makes no sense!

    • @bikersedge

    • @asifitmatters1
      @asifitmatters1 Před 5 měsíci

      @@bikersedge both designs are patented… and does the Maestro patent not belong to Giant? So why would they charge themselves to use it?

    • @bikersedge
      @bikersedge  Před 5 měsíci

      Single pivot is not patented. Maestro is and likely cost a lot to create the patent and design. It takes more resources for them so it makes sense it would cost more.

    • @asifitmatters1
      @asifitmatters1 Před 5 měsíci

      @@bikersedge but since it is their patent why would it cost them more? If Maestro was a third party patent then I could understand the extra cost, but as far as I know it’s not.

    • @bikersedge
      @bikersedge  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Because filing for a patent is expensive. Defending a patent is expensive. Sure they’re not paying royalties but they’ve certainly invested a lot of time, money and resources into patenting the maestro design. It’s pretty simple business math.

      My thoughts exactly. With current sales you can get a trance or reign for the same money. This won’t be as discounted for awhile.
