- Welcome to the first episode of Ad Hoc Horology. This is going to be my way to deliver watch content that may be "when necessary or needed" on the fly, and off the cuff. Rather than a straight up review, or something scripted.
Did you know the Helm Miyako, with its 22mm lug width, can be fitted with the Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet? I didn't either, but now that I know, it is my favorite way to wear the Miyako. It just goes to show you, fitting some aftermarket bracelets to other watches can work!

Thanks for this! When my number came up for the Miyako, I immediately purchased one of these z199 bracelets to put it on, and it just makes the whole thing for me. Love the taper and overall look much better than the stock bracelet. Thank you for turning me onto this option!

Been wearing the blue Miyako for 18 months. Its awesome, but i wish the links were smaller and that there was more taper. Ive solved the issue by wearing the bracelet looser. Very well built and satisfies my need for a heavy, dressy tool diver! Very robust. I kind of wish there were more color options like brown or a deep enamel black.
Check out the Uncle Seiko...you may really enjoy it more

I have three Helm and IMO the Miyako is not up to par compared to the others. The bracelet is bad and the lume is okay, but far from the best compared to others. The center dial portion engraving looks like a cheap piece of plastic. Thanks for another bracelet option and the review.

I was looking at the z199 bracelet at Uncle Seiko. The ones with solid end links don't show that inner, extra thick bar. I was going to buy one for my Helm. I know what you mean about the end links move without that bar. I've had it happen on fitment with others. Thanks for the information.
