- Track days are all about having a bit of fun and that's exactly what the team from Moore Performance & Automotive were doing when we ran into them at Sandown Raceway. The guys recently picked up this cheap Nissan Pulsar SSS complete with a turbo conversion however the brakes had other ideas.

You guys are really branching out to the common man and I like it. Nice to see ‘grass roots’ Motorsport and cars
would love to see more track car content like this!
N14 was my first car and engine swap. bought it for 300. Basic first year of production 1.6 LX 5 speed. Sr20de swapped from a NX, A31 brake master, n15 sss brakes and swapped rear drums for discs. All parts sourced from local wreckers. Was great fun looking at other Nissans mix matching parts to make it quick, no commodore stood a chance lol
Fun fact, the n14 stock front calliper/pads are also used on gu patrol rear brakes haha.
Fullboost, thanks for making videos about all different types of cars 👌
Ben reminds me of Jesse in fast furious with the white Volkswagen haha
Go the n14 pulsar !!👍
I love this track car, budget build, get out there and have some fun, and no slouch either, top video guys, keep up the good work👊👍
Putting a Pulsar turbo on a Pulsar turbo, if that's not meta I don't know what is!
Whys everyone going mad on the internet for pulsar turbos
@@79series because they are dishing out sponsorships, reasonable turbos for a fraction of the price of a garrett
Yep, per dollar spent… it is great value
@@garyhowe88 thanks
@@79series They're cut-price knock-offs of Garrett turbos. 99% of the performance for 50% the price, and 25% the reliability.
It's good to see a SSS on here. I had n14 non tubro but wanted to tubro mine. The cheap and easy todo up
I got a n15 sss last november and since then i have been slowely modifying it to be a fun track car. I have already done my first track day in it and all went well. Cant wait for the next one!
Hell yeah love the build. Well done fellas another great video.
$4500 absolute JDM bargain 🔥👍
We used to run nissan patrol 4wd front brake pads, I’m not sure what’s worse the fact that you need to run 4x4 pads to make the pulsar stop or the fact that 2ton nugget patrol has the same caliper as a 1000kg hatch back
What year petrol brakes
FullBoost should come along to a Nugget Nationals event. Great community of people and a really cheap way to get into track days in Vic!
Back in 2000 every high school kid in Qld wanted a SSS pulsar. You guys would probably remember a mates Nissan EXA, was red, cream interior, full on auto salon build, ca18det. Was in a few magazines back in the days.
Benny is a legend !
Love it!
Enjoyed that.
Looks fun 👍 Pump the pedal and off you go. Reminds me of the 70s
That's a lot of fun for $4500!
Great to see some track content. Looks more like a 1:33 lap though😂
A Magna on that shirt would go good
I squashed pad backing plates at Sandown too on a R31 - look ma no brakes !
i bought one of these new off the showroom floor. great motor but worst chassis ever rollcage is a great upgrade. benny is a cool dude should get on the grog like the rest of us.
love to know what the brake temps were
S-Chassis make for good tops. 😉
$4500 for that, it’s a pretty good deal, I’ve never seen anything that cheap with the amount of mods done, would easily sell for $8000 on todays market
i would love a 180sx on the shirt.
Did them brakes come of a baby stroller by any chance
Muy genial 😀
Mate will N15 sr20de brakes good enough if I turbo my N14 SR20?
ET Turbo shirt :)
What gearbox is it running?
Not watched the video yet, but did u fellas get the Nissan cherry turbo? My pal had 1 and it was a weapon.. the car in vid is a sunny GTIR TURBO then don't no if uz guys got this cars configuration but we got these as 3 doors and I so wanted one in white. JDM Escort cosworth.. lovely car fellas. 👊👍✌🇬🇧😎
called a pulsar in Australia
Maybe watch the vid first ☺️
Ain't nothing budget about that car these days
5k not budget track car?
You got real? This thing screams budget
GTi-R Front brake setup are also a good option
Aren't they the same?
@@fullboost GtiR discs 257mm 26mm thick . N14 SSS 252mm 20mm thick . Not a huge difference. For the money you are probably better off finding a new big brake kit . Just another option 👍
N15 sss are the same brakes
Gtir, nxr coupes, and n15 all share the AD22VF callipers and larger discs. Even though the aus spec and jap spec n14's came out the same years as the gtir and nx coupes they were left behind in the brake dept.
Better off with skyline calipers imo, just have to space the caliper out a bit
My seven year old son said "why is he wearing a motorbike helmet?" (White one) 🤣
These were pri common at one stage would be cool to see someone make a AWD version
Yeah, they could call it a gtir I reckon
@@felixthecat1672 aha
Factory cracked dash
He should add an e brake I think that would help him a lot on the track the n14 pulsar was very popular back in the day I had the n15 sss went very well
Horsepower figures ?
160kw as said in video.
He said in the video 160fwkw = 214 wheel hp
Missed it😁, thanks
Taco flavored kisses for my Bennnn
Taco taco barrito barrito
I'd love to do something like this - a real shitbox that I've just swapped better factory parts into, then lightened as much as can be done within road legality, then go to trackdays and embarrass all the dentists and lawyers in their half-million-dollar Porsches.
Anyone know where to get gearshift linkage bushings for these
I had a fairly rare sr20 ti n14. Such a cool car
