  • In this video I try out multiple firing of igniters - standard ematch igniters - on a cheap 4 cue system I bought on Ebay. The aim is to see how many I can fire at various extended lengths up to 20m of bell wire, and at up to 10 igniters on a single cue!
Important: These tests are using ematches. If you are using clip-on igniters (talons) you should instead watch my previous video as they are a completely different type of igniter and the results are NOT the same. That video also has a bit more info about the 4 cue systems I am using:
    • How many talon clip-on...
    Notes:
    1. For these tests I am wiring in series, not parallel. Wiring in parallel would have different results and is for another day to test (series wiring is actually much easier to set up IMHO).
    2. I'm firing with fresh batteries at about 18C - different conditions might give different results.
    3. I can't help with enquiries about different numbers of igniters or different lengths, as there is only a finite amount of testing I can do in a given time and budget constraints. So these tests are intended to give a general idea of where the limits of this system lie.
    4. Obviously, different systems at different voltages etc will give totally different results.
As an unintended SIDE QUEST in this video, I also experience multiple failures trying to light visco fuse with my ematches. I discuss this in greater detail in the video (which you can ignore if you only want to know how many igniters fire and at what distances).
