I was not a big believer in Olivera and his rise to make champion but his last 2 fights especially with Dustin Poirier made me a believer.
This fight with Islam will be the deciding factor for who is the best at their weight.....both of them.

i find this so pleasing, long story short where im from -the netherlands. kickboxing has been the most populair sport in fighting along with judo. alot of my friends practiced kickboxing, i never did anything but wrestle my older brothers playfighting and always believed if you have a better groundgame 1 on 1 you'd beat any kickboxer in an MMA game if you could just bring the fight closer. khabib and islam definitively proved this for me. despite my flawed striking-game i always won due to wrestling but got the short end of the stick on just boxing-matches. ofcourse its a game of balance but when your ground game is THÁT good and you dont have a glass-jaw, chances are you have a big chance of winning. unless you someone match up against a sort of one-punch-man that can just knock the sense out of you before that. i say wrestling>striking, in any weight class. i'd love to hear you guys oppinion on this subject

Islam vs charles.....skill wise they are equal ...... their ground fight will be spectacular....whoever has more Mental strength, Arm strength and knockout power will be the winner ...love both of them
I’m a big big Dan Hooker fan. People don’t appreciate that win Islam had over Dan. Up until then, he’d only been finished twice in the UFC, and once in the first round to Chandler. He’d yet to be subbed in the ufc. It’s hard to keep him down. And Islam has zero problems. This is not a good matchup for Charles so long as they don’t stay in stand up too long after the 3rd round. That’s where I think they both make mistakes but I trust Charles a little more in the championship rounds on his feet. But I can see Charles underestimating Islam on the ground thinking he’s not a submission threat meanwhile charles has been subbed 3x. He’s not used to fighting guys who are just as comfortable on the ground but for different reasons

@@ajmush3131 incidently, I was against Chandler getting the shot after beating Hooker. But there are individuals who make a series of arguments that 1.) Chandler was a Belator champion with an incredible resume, 2.) Islam defeated an even lower ranked Hooker than Chandler defeated, and 3.) Chandler never turned down a fight offer, and in fact served as a backup fighter when most guys would typically turn that kind of offer down. The UFC may have been rewarding his company friendly behavior.
