  • I will be installing a rear wiper from a 2001-2007 Ford Escape on a Polaris Ranger. This wiper motor works great and has nearly a 180 degree sweep. This step-by-step video should apply to most UTVs.
    Parts:
    Switch: bit.ly/3GQeMVI
    Switch Rocker: bit.ly/3XbbQsJ
    Fuses and Fuse Holders: bit.ly/3VQ07hr
    Wire: bit.ly/3WT6jH5
    Cable Sleeve: bit.ly/3VVFxw8

    Very very helpful. This is something I have been looking for. I didn't want to have to install a wiper that only covered the drivers side and didn't want to have to install two wipers that would cost $$$ from normal sources. This is perfect!

    Very well made thank you for your help. I’ve been wanting to do this but needed the confidence on wiring I think I can do it now!

      @@condorsgarage will any 8 pin switch with off,on,on feature 🎉work or does it have to be exact same one ?

    • @condorsgarage
      @condorsgarage  Před 4 měsíci

      As long as one of the on positions is momentary then any off,on,on switch should work.

    Very good work. Out of all the videos I’ve watched with this Ford Escape wiper motor install, yours is the cleanest and best detailed video.
    Thanks for your effort in making this video.

    1: Your diagram at the beginning switches the ground for the washer. This will probably work, but is not the preferred method. Switch the hot wire so when you need to disconnect the washer in the future, you don't have a hot wire hanging out in the open.
    2: The diagram you are using on the workbench is different from the earlier one, and the washer won't work at all with the way it's drawn. You have a ground running through the switch to the motor and out to ground. There's no hot wire running to the washer. (I suspect this was an early version and you realized it won't work when you tried to implement it, which lead to the earlier displayed version. See comment 1 above.)
    That switch needs a ground only for the lamps (pin 7 and pin 9). Suggest you jumper hot from pin 2 to pin 5, and connect your washer hot input to pin 6.
    Thanks for the tip on using the Escort rear wiper assembly. I'll be looking into that. Polaris prices are astronomical, and most aftermarket options only provide 90° swing.

    Just curious how it has held up with out additional mounting points? Has to loosened or roated at all? I see its been a year since this video was uploaded.
    Also did u ever make the arm longer to accommodate a longer blade?

    I’m thinking about doing the same thing. It looks like the wiper arm and blade or not near big enough doesn’t look like it’s cleaning much of the window. Is it possible to put a longer arm and blade on that unit to cover more of the glass? Thank you.

    A lot better option than the 600+ dollar Polaris wiper lol.. Do you have part number for the wiper motor and what ever other Ford parts are needed?

    Was anyone successful at doing this? The motor i ordered only had a 90 degree sweep. I ordered 3 different ones. Did anyone have a link to one with 180 sweep?

      Have you received an answer for finding 180 sweep? I also have the same question.

    • @MrCovain
      @MrCovain Před 8 měsíci

      @randybigler580 no but I went with Polaris oem wiper motor. It works fine and if you modify the wiper arm it will wipe almost 165 to 170 degrees. I am actually happy with it except the price

      It's been working great. I haven't had to make any changes or add any additional mounting bolts.

      I just have the one nut holding it in place and it has never moved on me.

    • @richgardiner8392

      And I’m thinking about doing this as well. I’m concerned that the wiper blade is not near big enough looking at yours. It looks like it’s not going to cover much. Is it possible to put a longer arm and wiper blade on that unit?
